thai green curry was mind blowing! however quantity could have been better. lemon basilchickennoodles were so so. could have been better. overall nice experience. thai food can be given a second chance.

this place is a hidden gem of kolkata. menu is unbelievably great and pocket friendly. we tried 1.pork momo. 4.5/5 (149/-)
2. grilled bbqchickenbao. 4/5 (152/-)
3. kolkata’s favourite triple szechwan fried rice chicken. 4.2/5 (193/-) this is more or less sufficient for two
service is very good and polite. overall had a great time. 💕

1. starting from the soup, there was no taste in it. all i could taste was water and chillies. it was water.
2. the momos was okay but they got stuck to the paper packaging and they couldn't be eaten. the chutney given with momos was also not tasty and was very little.
3. the noodle soup had just too many plain boiled noodles. thechickengiven alongside was rubbery and bland.
4. the crackers also i got were tasting like regulwr rice crackers and not prawn crackers.

definitely not worth the price.

two things wanna highlight about ginkgo are great pan asian food and very much affordable pocket pinch.

also in ginkgo,you can get not only variety of pan asian dishes but also some unique dishes to other places in kolkata.

pokchoy wrappedchickenis not only droolsome by its look,but a must try dish from ginkgo.chickenslices wrapped with pokchoy leaves and then sautéed in a gravy rich with garlic- awesome.

darjeeling stylechickensteam momo is our regular steam momo but more soft and larger than usual size.

cheese, spinach, water chestnut dimsums are black ones in photo,even if you are not a veg lover- you still should try it, soft juicy and tasteful; also try to have this with their black bean sauce to enhance the flavours.

fish dumpling with red hot chilli oil is another showstopper, pink dumplings with soft fish filling in it and then dipping it in red hot chilli oil- taste at its best.

cfc friedchickenbao, where the patty was not at all dry and the bao is fully loaded with bao, mayonnaise and fresh lettuce.

ginkgo style chillichickenwith scallion is perfect for munching specially when you are waiting for your main course to arrive. herechickenwas tossed in a sauce with full of bell peppers, onions and spring onions.

spicy lemon basil noodles is different from regular noodles, thin noodles withchickenand veggies and a beautiful aroma of lemon- all the flavours are complementing each other perfectly.

so if you want to have asian food that too in a cozy place at real good pocket pinch then make ginkgo your usual hang out place just like me.

heard lot of good reviews about this restaurant. ordered ginko styled chili pork and kolkata stylechickenwings from it. the chili pork was average taste but while eating we found the pieces were not properly cleaned before cooking as the pork’s hairs were still the pieces!!!! and this is totally disgusting!!! it spoiled our dinner and we threw the rest of the dishes out of disgust. i will never recommend any person this place ever. the picture of the piece is attached herewith as evidence.

asian and american food gone pocket friendly at gingko restaurant, right opposite to south city mall.

imagine spending a long enjoyable day at south city and suddenly, you are cash strapped and cannot have a proper dinner. now imagine a place that serves up some really innovative flavours and yet has a pocket pinch of ₹300 for 2.

with comfortable seating for around 15 people, the ambience resembles an asian getaway place with the flute being played to give a serene feeling. the entire place has a calm, soothing vibe, with a huge buddha mural on one wall.

coming to the food that was served, the dumplings, momos and dimsums had terrific variations to it. darjeeling stylechickenmomo, cheese-spinach-water chestut dimsums and fish dumpling with red hot chilli oil were the variants under which all of them are must tries.

besides that, there were other crowd favorites like the gfc friedchickenbao, pok choy wrappedchickenand noodles.

simply horrible. please refund my money. it was complete waste of money. soggy dimsums with bad prawn fillings. prawn salt and pepper too salty, hot, and peppery. chillichickenwas too salty too. and fried rice didn’t taste good either.

its really a hidden gem . went there after getting some reviews and recommendation,a highly recommended place to get pocket friendly food .

a classic from guangzhou china, the prawn hargao, with the outside made out of tapioca and wheat starch, and the inside filled with bamboo shoots, finely chopped shrimps and sesame oil, prawn hargao remains a quintessential part of any dimsum feast you may wish to sink your teeth in. roasted barbeque pork bao had roasted pork along with wasabi kimchi garlic mayo put together between two soft buns.

feast on their ginkgo style chilli pork with scallions having roasted pork mixed with spices, fresh chilli, seasoning, soy, capsicum and leeks. some sweet and spicy cyanne pepper hot sauce mixed american highway styled buffalochickenwings, and we quickly made our way to the mains. with mains equally as good as the starters, it was a tough choice to decide on the winner.

thai styledchickenfried rice and lemon egg basil noodles paired up with an exciting and aggressive fish in chilli oyster sauce and a relatively mildchickenwith roasted peanuts in dry chilli kung pao sauce. fantastic balance of flavours, neither of the gravy dishes too overpowering, balancing perfectly with the rice and the noodles dish, ginkgo truly displayed it's class and proved why they are what they are! a must try, these are flavours that will surely make you come back for more.

ginkgo kolkata is located just opposite of south city mall (lane beside the honda bike showroom), kolkata.
the restaurant has only 15-18 seating capacity, a small outlet , but don't judge the place on looks.
this place serves one of the best dumplings andchickenwings of kolkata

the pocket pinch is very low, i was just shocked with the price/ service ratio.
there quality and service is too good at such a low pricing.

i personally would highly recommend the below two dishes as a must try:
cheese, spinach & water chestnuts dimsum
american highway style buffalochickenwings.
overall i just loved this place and willbe definitely visiting this place soon.
