every curry on the menu is around r98 but they come served with rice and can easily serve 2 people. the chicken tikka is well priced as well, at r52 for half a chicken and chips. i do suggest that you buy some butter naan to go with any of your dishes. it is agreataddition and ghazal makes it very well.

you can also choose how spicy or sweet every dish you order should be. the boyfriend likes to order things hot, i prefer medium. we ordered a chicken makhne once medium and once hot. i really prefer it medium. the makhne is sweet and fragrant with the most tender chicken. the chicken tikka was also soft and tender, but quite spicy at hot.

the first time we visited was on a weekend evening and the restaurant was incredibly busy. there were no free tables and we were glad we had booked. the service was still friendly and efficient. our food got to the table piping hot and fresh. since our last visit, the boyfriend mentions it every single day (and he's a fussy eater!).

definitely recommended!

if you looking for good authentic north indian food withgreatservice and a nice set up, give ghazas a visit.

their curries are the right amount of flavor and spice and the smells will entice you.

my favorite is their chicken korma with fresh warm butter naan or their chicken boti- little nuggets of soft chicken marinated in spice and cooked on open fire.

try their onion badjia (chilli bite) as a starter or their paneer tikka, which is marinated cottage cheese on a skewer, roasted in clay oven.

their tikka prawn curry is an aromatic curry that is rich in flavours and spices.

had the butter chicken, my usual favorite. unfortunately it was slightly sweet, which i didn't like. in fairness to ghazal, they do warn you about it on their menu, but if you're going for the butter chicken, go elsewhere.

not sure if they can do it without the sweetness, but it would begreatif they could, because apart from that the meal and the ambiance were lovely.

i recently organised a farewell dinner for a friend who loves indian cuisine and the six of us thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

i adore the garlic and butter naan and the lamb korma. quite a few people have told me the chicken korma is the best, but i will not be swayed on this! trust me have the lamb. i can't eat very spicy food and ghazal knows how to make it non-spicy or spicy.

my other friends tried the chicken korma, curries and the breyani and we all enjoyed the food. i reserved a booth table and we had a blast, with a friendly and efficient waitress (she had her hands full we were the loudest table) by the time it came to dessert most of my friends were full (the portion sizes are quite decent).

i didn't need much persuasion to eat some italian kisses and ice cream and the others had coffees.

i think we were there for a good three hours or more. i like that we received good service and no-one acted like we should vacate the table quicker, it was a friday night so the restaurant was busy.

ghazal is a definite crowd pleaser, easy on the wallet withgreattasting food. i know i always come back, although depending where i am, i have also eaten at the sunninghill branch (which is equally wonderful).

the service wasgreatto begin with even though we went on new year's eve and the place was closing early. we ordered starters, including chicken samoosas and what i think were supposed to be chilli bites. both were quite tasty although neither had any form of chilli in them, so were a bit bland for indian food. the samoosa was also made very differently from what we were used to (durban-style), with quite thick pastry. in my view, a samoosa should have thin, crispy pastry and have been pulled fresh from the hot oil minutes before being served.

for mains we ordered tandoori chicken with fries for myself and my wife tried the chicken in coconut and cumin sauce. both weregreatalthough my tandoori chicken was like eating fire (my fault, i should have opted for a medium heat) so i could only manage half. we had agreattime but when the bill arrived the price of drinks spoiled the experience. r32 for a windhoek light?! seriously? come on, restaurant owners, people are tired of getting soaked for their drinks. and let's lose that corkage charge shall we? i can tell that in future we will be picking restaurants that don't charge corkage.

that said, when we are really lusting after some curry in mid-winter i may well give it another try but won't be ordering any beers, that's for sure.

this was the second time i had been to ghazals, but the first time with my partner. very relaxed atmosphere and ambience. we both ordered the prawn masala mine hot and my partners mild with some garlic naan bread. the food was delcious and the taste of the masala sauce complimented the prawns admirably with the various spices mixed with the coconut milk flavouring.

for dessert we shared a warm chocolate brownie smothered with chocolate sauce and a portion of ice cream. my partners comment was that it was the best chocolate brownie she had ever tasted.

authentic indian food at authentic prices with an excellent dessert very reasonably priced as well.

i would recommend anyone who wants to experiencegreatindian food to try ghazals.

the best curry in johannesburg.

we ordered the chicken makhne, lamb korma and garlic naan, which was all delicious. the curries could have however been a bit spicier considering we ordered them medium.

great service andgreatfood! i can’t wait to come back here.

we came to the ghazal restaurant in bryanston for an early dinner on monday 2nd january 2017.

we were the first table to sit down for a dinner at the restaurant and were looking forward to agreatdinner. needless to say this did not happen.

our drinks arrived promptly which was fine and our waiter was polite, no problems there. our starters arrived, ( the platter for one) we ordered two to share between the four of us, the food was dry and bland.

we put this behind us in the anticipation of ordering agreatcurry to make up for this. after approx. an hour our curries had not arrived. i went to the managers to notify them of this, i was firstly asked if i was there for a take away which i replied ' we may as well have been as our food had not arrived after an hour'. secondly they had obviously not taken notice of where we were seated. we do not expect royal treatment please dont get me wrong, but considering we were one of about 5 tables at this point, i don't find this to be a difficult thing. having alerted the managers, i was assured that the managers would follow this up.

on my way back to our table i noticed one of the managers following me and as i sat down he said it's coming, i remarked to this with frustration given the situation and length of time we had been waiting for our food, to which he turned to our table and rudely raised his voice to me saying 'we have four chefs attending to your food sir, what more do you want me to do??!!' as he walked away i noticed him shaking his head at me.

shortly after this the curries arrived and the other manager approached us and apologised for the delay and said that staff had not shown up due to the public holiday, so which story do we go with? lots of staff attending to us or lack of staff??

now i do believe, firstly, that in the hospitality and retail industry, customers come first, secondly, to have been spoken to like that after our food has taken so long and we are paying the prices we are, i think this is highly unacceptable. further, to add to this i noticed that this particular manager who confronted me, was pouring a beer possibly for himself as it seemed like he was placing it under the top shelf of the booking sheet cabinet at the front of house greeting area. (this manager is the taller one with black hair and has a yugoslavian/eastern european sounding accent).

we often come to ghazal and have enjoyed ourselves. however, following this incident we shall not be back.

went for dinner at ghazal and i was so impressed, as i have tried various indian establishments, but this one hasgreattasting food.

we had the chicken madras and the chicken korma, both were absolutely great. i especially love the korma for a bit of a sweeter dish. but the madras is so tasteful. the butter naan was also agreatadd-on and delicious.

the wine list was okay, with quite a good selection, but a bit on the pricey side.
