everycurryon the menu is around r98 but they come served with rice and can easily serve 2 people. the chicken tikka is well priced as well, at r52 for half a chicken and chips. i do suggest that you buy some butter naan to go with any of your dishes. it is a great addition and ghazal makes it very well.

you can also choose how spicy or sweet every dish you order should be. the boyfriend likes to order things hot, i prefer medium. we ordered a chicken makhne once medium and once hot. i really prefer it medium. the makhne is sweet and fragrant with the most tender chicken. the chicken tikka was also soft and tender, but quite spicy at hot.

the first time we visited was on a weekend evening and the restaurant was incredibly busy. there were no free tables and we were glad we had booked. the service was still friendly and efficient. our food got to the table piping hot and fresh. since our last visit, the boyfriend mentions it every single day (and he's a fussy eater!).

definitely recommended!

if you looking for good authentic north indian food with great service and a nice set up, give ghazas a visit.

their curries are the right amount of flavor and spice and the smells will entice you.

my favorite is their chicken korma with fresh warm butter naan or their chicken boti- little nuggets of soft chicken marinated in spice and cooked on open fire.

try their onion badjia (chilli bite) as a starter or their paneer tikka, which is marinated cottage cheese on a skewer, roasted in clay oven.

their tikka prawncurryis an aromaticcurrythat is rich in flavours and spices.

the service was great to begin with even though we went on new year's eve and the place was closing early. we ordered starters, including chicken samoosas and what i think were supposed to be chilli bites. both were quite tasty although neither had any form of chilli in them, so were a bit bland for indian food. the samoosa was also made very differently from what we were used to (durban-style), with quite thick pastry. in my view, a samoosa should have thin, crispy pastry and have been pulled fresh from the hot oil minutes before being served.

for mains we ordered tandoori chicken with fries for myself and my wife tried the chicken in coconut and cumin sauce. both were great although my tandoori chicken was like eating fire (my fault, i should have opted for a medium heat) so i could only manage half. we had a great time but when the bill arrived the price of drinks spoiled the experience. r32 for a windhoek light?! seriously? come on, restaurant owners, people are tired of getting soaked for their drinks. and let's lose that corkage charge shall we? i can tell that in future we will be picking restaurants that don't charge corkage.

that said, when we are really lusting after somecurryin mid-winter i may well give it another try but won't be ordering any beers, that's for sure.

this is my othercurryplace. it’s a fancy indian restaurant and the food is yummy, pricey and very typical of a fancy indian restaurant. the garlic is so yummy you probably won’t want to share it.

the bestcurryin johannesburg.

we ordered the chicken makhne, lamb korma and garlic naan, which was all delicious. the curries could have however been a bit spicier considering we ordered them medium.

great service and great food! i can’t wait to come back here.

i haven’t been able to match their authentic indian cuisine at any other restaurant. i have been there many times and anycurryi have tried is so tasty, paired with jasmine rice and garlic naan. the service is good too.

this is a very unfair review because i have eaten here for ever and i love their food. their curries have been consistently good over the years but recently two escalatingcurrycrimes are being committed:

1. fat and flabby naan breads are coming out of the oven. if i want bread, i order bunny chow.

2. sugar is being thrown into dishes which has no place for sugar other than the sweetness of ingredients sweated down like onion. the usually flavourful bhuna gohst tonight was truly awful - in the way that a somoosa store collides with a candy floss stand at a school fundraising fete.

come on. your curries were great.

the bestcurryin joburg as far as i am concerned. the decor has been the same for years now but still works. the food is consistently great and wine selection is not by bad either. the staff are friendly and accommodating.

every day iscurryday for me lately ...

had a quick early bite today at ghazal .
tried their chicken kadai and jeera rice ;
prawn masala with plain basmati rice

i wasn't so blown away by the quality of their food compared to other indian restaurants i highly recommend.

the food was just good enough ... chicken kadai was served luke warn had to ask for it to be reheated .

overall the dishes were okay but nothing to write home about ! i have definitely tasted better indian dishes .

the medium spicy was too mild for me lacked the kick! if i knew i would have opted for hot .

the restaurant is alright outside area is lovely in the afternoon .
service --- the waiters lacked some energy for me let's blame it on the heat .... they don't say much about their dishes recommendations or what so ever .

i wouldn't be in a hurry to go back

last night, i sampled the lamb jai frazi here with garlic naan.

sadly, i struggle with ghazal to justify paying the prices that they charge (i am guessing they are on the high side due to their expensive location) and i do not feel as if i am getting anything extra or particularly special than i would from my regular local indian spots (that are much cheaper). i didn't finish my lambcurryon this occasion because i found the meat just too tough.

however, the service was decent and we enjoyed our quiet evening tucked away in the corner here.

*recommendation: would i go back? probably not.

definitely the best northern indian curries around. my boyfriend and i frequent this ghazal for takeaways and sit down meals and we are always thoroughly satisfied. my favouritecurryis the makhani which i usually have with chicken or paneer. the chicken is always supremely tender and the paneer cheese is absolutely delicious, paired with the rich buttery, tomato makhani sauce it is an absolute dream.
