airline pilot. i just wanted to say good things about the gourmet burrito. i love the food and enjoy every visit. the folks that run the shop aregreatand so is the food. if you have the need for agreatburrito go and enjoy the better tastes of life.

in response to the previous fred's review. sounds like this person should just have gone to in-n-out. must have been awful being able to sip on a beer and listen to music while you waited for your food. if you wanted drinks quicker, maybe you should have waddled up to the bar in the middle of the patio for your drinks. as for the food, it is very good. yes, overpriced, but you are also paying for the atmosphere and the beer is cheap. bacon cheese fries: great. tacos: great. burgers: great, get the diablo. anyways i am glad that this person didn't like it because freds doesn't need patrons like you anyways, they are crowded enough with people who can appreciate agreatplace. take some sunflower seeds with you next time to get you through that painstaking wait. a+ for freds.

you simply have to eat here is you want a burger. the diablo is the one to order...sit at the bar and watch them cook...this is texas and bless you fred's ( who is the owners dog name) for....love taking people there and love going...try to go once a quarter...41/2 buns on the burger scale....

a devil of a burger. been here before and was not thinking it was great....went back after it won an award for best burger....had a burger taste off with my wife and myself....the diablo was great....hot and spicy with a true mix of peppers that just did not involve throwing jalapenos on the meat....it is fun to watch them cook and the place has a texas party atmosphere...it was not the winner....beat out by m & o ....the burger wasgreatand fries good and the service was very texan....damn but i am proud to be a citizen of thisgreatstate....you will like the place but be prepared to wait....4 3/4 of 5

mixed feelings...see below. ok maybe it was my expectations...i had heard it was being filmed for a segment on ddd on the food channel...the burgers were hand formed and cooked to order and they were pure fat free burgers...they just were not burgers...more steak burgers...i liked them and the fries were good...the service wasgreatand fun...the price...was high...ready for the hollywood set maybe...i certainly will go a again and you should go...just not the best in town.

if you're a d-bag tcu rich kid that doesn't know any better, you might like this place. but if you grew up with your dad cookinggreatburgers in the back yard and you know the value of a dollar, prepare to be disappointed. burgers are decent but not worth 8-10 dollars. fries are par, so what's the big fuss about. you pay for the atmosphere which you can get cheaper elsewhere. i was really looking forward to going here needless to say i won't be back

great cfs andgreatservice!. stopped by fred's today to grab a bite with the family while touring the museums for spring break. the service was fast and friendly. my wife and i ordered cfs; our chicken fried steaks were fork tender and delicious. my daughter ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which she declared was "yummy!". the home-style fries were a perfect side to these dishes. couldn't ask for better diner-style food in fort worth. we will be back. :-d

delicious burgers!. i love fred's! they have agreatoutdoor patio with live music and an awesome burger. the chef is a real chuckwagon chef. a must try for fort worth goers.

don't waste your time. we at at fred's on a saturday around 1:30, thinking allot of the crowd would be gone...they were full, but definitively not crowded. first problem we had was even getting a rude waitress to come take our drink order...we waited almost 20 min just for that. second problem is the placement of the speakers, the music wasgreatand i enjoy good music, but the dude running the music board is clueless and the placement of the speakers is, well, stupid if your trying to play music on a patio. the third issue was after we finally got a food order taken, it took over an hour to get our food and when we finally got our food,it was ok....not great...just o.k. the chicken sandwich was so dry you would choke on it and in fact we could have gone across the street to in and out burger and probably got a burger just as good, but way less expensive. oh yea that's the other thing, the food is expensive for what you get. so in my opinion, fred's is way overrated and i would not return again. peace!

laid back atmosphere,greatburger. fred's is pretty much a country-western style dive bar/restaraunt. i've been twice and the burger wasgreatboth times. the fries were too limp the first time i went but the second time they were nice and crispy. good, ice cold bud light on tap. this isn't a place to go for wine or a wide beer selection. the inside is cramped but tolerable and the outside is nice. they have big fans blowing in the summer to keep you cool and live music playing both times i've been. it's a good place for laid back music, laid back atmosphere, ice cold beer and one of the best burgers you'll find. i highly recommend fred's if you're the laid back, down to earth type. i love it, just wish i lived closer. this is not a place for the high maintenance type though. i want a fred's burger right now!

burgers... but don't forget brunch. you should get over to fred's for the burgers for sure... i have had the fred and the spicy diablo. both are great. but if you haven't been there for brunch you are missing out. we have only been on sundays, (not sure if they offer it other days...) and it agreatway to start the day, a plate of migas or huevos racherors or the eggs and quail and a scooner of beer or bloody mary. the servers are always friendly and quick we havent checked out the new fred's in nfw but the original is worth the trip.

forget the handicap. my brother wanted to take us to fred's for a afternoon of music and food, when we got their there were no handicap parking spots so we parked a block away. i'm tied to a wheelchair but i didn't want to be a party pooper so i went in. after 2 or 3 beers i needed to go to the restroom but when i got there the bathroom was so small i couldn't get in. i went into the back alley instead, putting myself endanger with the law and possible being mugged.

the next i called and asked the managered why and she stated that it was grandfathered and wasn't her problem. i realize that walking people don't think about these things but if you would think of a friend or family member that is handicap and don't visit fred's i would begreatfull.

not for a poor or hungry person. wife and i had a couple hour wait for the senior fair to open the doors. i had seen fred's on the tv ch 5 food show and figured we could get agreatbreakfast there. wife wanted a chicken fried steak, gravy and eggs. it was $15.00 and coffee was 2 bucks each. i just had coffee and thought maybe it would be so big we could share. the 2 eggs were small, steak was about the size of my fist and the one biscuit was a 1 biter but about 2 cups of potatoes. there was really only enough for my wife so i just had the coffee. waiter was very friendly and kept the coffee coming. like i said not for the poor man.
