i just went for a birthday dinner to the restaurant and we had a very nice service. the waiter was very kind and flexible with our requirements. dinner was splendid. salads were ok, but mains were delicious. i strongly recommend both desserts: the tiramisu, very very fresh and the ricotta cake with lemon sorbet ... yummy !! :d

fratelli paradiso has been serving great coffee for many years and one of the few places that have not wavered from their ideals of perfect coffee, food and service.

this potts point eatery is as sexy as a plate of prosciutto and figs being ravished by monica bellucci. with almost ten years under it’s belt and a consistent clientele of sydney’s too-cool chic, fratelli paradiso has become an italian hotbed for those looking for gusto in their italian fare, effervescently charming service and super-slick surrounds.

we had breakfast there this morning great coffee but when our meals arrived they were all cold. all in all just don't understand the footpath lines and all the hype as it's not exactly great food for the money.

there is no menu just daily specials read out by the handsome italian waiters, usually 2/3 hot dishes, fruit dish and a porridge or muesli surprise.

terrible service. i took my parents out to this place yesterday for lunch - i/we have never been treated in a more arrogant manner...and the quality of the food did not make up for it. i would strongly recommend you do not go to this place if you can avoid it.

great food and coffee but ouch on the hip pocket!! arrogant and detached staff make this an indifferent experience. plenty of choice elsewhere, incl other fratelli outlets which i enjoy much more.

costly surprise. !!warning about the current specials. ask about the price when ordering. standard mains here are between $20-$30 and offer ok value. most restaurants do not tell you the price of 'specials' as they are usually comparable to standard dishes so we didnt think to ask when they were decsribed to us.
the current special of squid is $64!
unfortunately our waiter offered no warning when ordering that this dish was x2.5 the price of other main courses. was then made to feel like a tight ass by the waiter for questioning it when the bill was presented. albeit a lovely dish but thought the way the whole issue was handled was pretty poor. walked away thinking we had been conned. this is a shame seeing as everything else was polished and professional.

rude - not kind to nursing moms. i was visiting the area from the us and stayed at the simpsons hotel in dec 2010. i was at the restaurant with my four month old baby and husband for dinner. they sat us in a back corner and we had a wonderful waitress. a couple sat across from us at a high table - the woman was facing me, she motioned something to the guy she was with. the guy called over the manager and loudly said "i did not know it was cow season" and motioned towards me. the manager was confused at first but then repeated what the guy said and the two were laughing. i am very private when nursing - you would have to sit next to me inorder to see what i was doing. the manager moved the couple and i had my husband - who was clueless about what was transpiring, take the baby on a walk. i asked my waitress if the management had a problem with me nursing my baby and she turned very red and said no. we stayed and the food was good but in a place where women are displaying their breasts for fashion - why should i be called a cow for modestly feeding my baby? luckily - the rest of sydney restaurants were not like this.

loving it local.... having heard a lot about fratelli paradiso, i was a little apprehensive - other people's opinions can cloud one's own.

what a wonderful surprise when the restaurant immediately becomes a favourite haunt - superb and unexpected combinations of flavours on traditional dishes (minted-pea puree with gooey-to-medium poached eggs - sublime!), no-where near as expensive as i had been told, and such relaxed, warm and unobtrusive service that i felt like i was at my new most beloved local.

my reaction to this fratelli is also heightened by the contrast to the rude and sloppy lack of service at the eateries just across the road.

lunch there two days in a row. it was that good. a tried and true reliable venue that is not too pretentious but still makes you feel like you're dining somewhere a bit nicer. always delivers great food.

sydney arrogance. when a cafe in sydney develops a name it seems they think they can rely on that alone, my first visit here and the waiter puts my coffee down with not a word, there is two of us at the table who have ordered so i do wonder who the coffee could be for??? suggestion...put stickers on the cup if your above speaking to your customers......would i go again hell no would i go across the road where i know the service is good and your worthy of being spoken to hell yes
