fratelli paradiso

we turned down a popular café street and ended up at fratelli paradish, one of the many fratelli spin offs. i’m not sure why we picked this café as the first, but you have got to start somewhere! like any fratelli, it has that great looking wine bar style and by the wait crowd for a table, a great place to be seen (and eat?), even at 10am on a sunday morning.

delicious!!. i hadn't been here for years and after the other night, i can't wait to go back!!

excellent service, friendly and efficient :)

i went here with my partner on a thursday evening. we shared the proscuitto for entree - a generous portion of beautiful parma ham and bread. i had the risotto for main course, with prawns and zucchini - most probably the tastiest risotto i've ever had!! the italian wine list also delicious.

the atmosphere here is great, feels like you're in italy!! it's not necessarily 'cheap and cheerful' but worth every cent :)

definitely recommend this place for date night!!

always a good ambience, pretty consistent food, wouldn't mind a bit more variety on the menu.

like:). fratelli paradiso is a safe bet for me and my man every time he doesn't feel like cooking (i know, he's awesome:). he lives just a short stroll from them so that's also one of the reasons but not the main one for sure.
food is simple but great regardless of what you pick. we had the fiorentina steak for two a couple of times and it was so delicious that i couldn't help myself and chewed the last bits of meat straight off the bone (to all staff and diners amusement:) although the dishes are bit on the pricier side (my man doesn't think so though), once in a while it won't hurt your wallet.
staff know their thing and since the menu is written on the blackboard and in italian they always come once you're seated and explain the menu for you (which i find time-consuming from the staff point of view but i guess that's part of why people like this place).
to sum it up, i wouldn't bring here my first date since the tables are small and sit close next to each other, but as a casual lunch and dinner it's perfect.

very tasty italian fare, busy but ok service considering the friday night crowd. an interesting wine list. only fault is no menu, it's ok for the waiter to remember all thirty five ingredients but not for the average punter. just give us a menu. other than the mozzarella entree was just sublime

just walked out of the restaurant after being seated and then ignored by waitstaff for nearly 20 mins. a pleasure to then walk into la buvette across the road where we were greeted, seated and served with a smile

good for a hard pressed night when you can't get a reservation elsewhere.. if one can get beyond the poor table service and filthy tableware, the food when it finally arrives can be be considered adequate.
time for this aging restaurant to recognize their is some serious competition out there and they can't treat their customers with the rude behavior they believe is chic.
decent calamari

the first day we arrived here we had dinner at fratelli paradiso in challis st, potts point, then i think we ate there every night for the next week. we love that it is a simple, yet modern trattoria and has an uncomplicated menu that you can easily mix and match without waiters making a fuss. they're always happy for us to eat "family style" which you kind of want to do if you're eating there every night! the wine recommendations were great, and i have to say that the scampi linguini which was also a house recommendation is cooked to perfection and a winner in my eyes.

a great italian rest in my neighborhood. went for dinner with friends and really enjoyed the meal. will b back soon

the real thing!. it's not just the excellent cafe, lunch & dinner menus that makes this place great - it is about the staff as well!
they can serve & say the right thing at the right time - must have something to do with the selection process - or the fact they the owners are there and can see what's happening.....bravo!

so pleased we still have a real cafe-restaurant in potts point - especially with all the wanna-bes coming in.....

best in sydney. simple food with fresh ingredients done to absolute perfection. it will not get the recognition it deserves as it's not as technical as some high profile restaurants, but the food is as good as you will ever taste. best value for money in sydney too, they could charge a lot more. brilliant waiting staff to top it off.

amazing food. simple with great flavour. perfect service. we had a shared entre - beef carpaccio, salt and pepper calamari and caprese salad. duck ragu for main. definitely be back
