four pegs beer lounge

compliments to the chef. to put it simply, the food at four pegs is amazing. when my friends and i stopped by for lunch on saturday, it was pretty slow, which meant that we got to talk to the chef about the food. and based off what he told (and based off my taste buds), four pegs is now one of my favorite places in town. they practically make everything from scratch, and it really shows in things like the beer glazed burger and chicken and waffle sandwich. i'm looking forward to going back in the future and trying the other items from their menu.

oh, and the beer is pretty awesome as well.

meh! not worth going back.... the food was nothing great and the place was so loud we had to yell at each other. i will admit we are not beer drinkers, but the vast selection seemed like it would be a hit with those who do. the pretzel and beer cheese was not what i had imagined. the beer cheese was served cold and had a tart after taste that did not pair well with the overly salted pretzel. i ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich, which lacked any kind of flavor. the waffle itself was plain, so i tried only eating the chicken, which proved to be dry and flavorless as well. their fries were the only thing i actually enjoyed. my fiance ordered one of the burgers and it was good, nothing amazing, but it sure beat the flavorless sandwich i had. we will definitely not be returning for the food.

love the beer and atmosphere at four pegs, but the food almost makes me not want to return. the burgers are fine (can you really screw up a burger?) and the fried green tomatoes hit the spot. the creme brûlée dessert is tops too, but i almost suspect it comes from gfs. everything else i've tried tastes like a culinary school student simply plopped something on a plate from a cisco truck so he didn't flunk the course. a few dishes try to get inventive, like chili cheese fries (do we really want veggie chili and three shreds of cheese on our fries?), but the interpretation is so bland and off the mark that i'd rather just eat carnival food. i understand the concept of gastropub, but i could honestly do better myself. fill up somewhere else on good food and come here for beer.

awesome food! great fish and chips. beer cheese was really good- didn't taste like it can from a can. it was tangy and a little chunky, almost like pimiento cheese. beer selection is good too. no issues with service.

the prices were reasonable and the food was divine. yes, i used the word divine, okay. sue me.

delicious, warm, friendly. what can be said about four pegs that hasn't been said? delicious food, warm atmosphere, and friendly service.
the poutine was so good i could have licked the wax paper.
heavenly just doesn't describe the chicken and waffle sandwich properly. it was rich and delightful.
we sat at the bar and can't say enough about the guy who took our order. he was very welcoming and attentive, even while many other patrons came to the bar.
we had a peachy time and can't wait to go back.

love four pegs. this place does nothing but rock. great atmosphere, great beer and top quality pub food. love the chicken and waffle sandwish, fish and chips, glazed angus burger.

food is pretty good and well priced. service is terrible. staff were rude and uninterested. i won't be back.

meh. food- decent but noth.... meh.
food- decent but nothing i'd go back for. beer selection- meh, there are better in town. service - really meh. bad system. had to go up to the bar to order, to get napkins, to get silverware, to get another beer, to pay... you get the idea. pretty much self serve.

wife and i stopped in and i had the chicken and waffle sandwich. absolutely awesome, and lighter than i expected. love the maple mayo. wife had the beer battered fish, extremely large piece of fish...nothing special yet good. the fresh cut fries were also very good. we will go back.

okay.... i really want to like this place but could these people act any less interested in serving customers? when you act like you are going out of your way to do me a favor by simply getting me a beer it doesn't make me want to come back. that said in all fairness the food is decent but nothing that doesn't require a deep fryer. just be polite and keep the indie-tool act at home. germantown is exhausted.

i seriously love everything here. it is decadent, but so worth it. i tell everyone they need to eat at four pegs.

this is now one of my favorite places in louisville. the fried green tomatoes, hummus and the philly sandwich were all perfect and delicious. wednesday night they have $4 pints. we sat at the bar and the service was good.

the chicken waffle sandwich with maple mayonnaise was fantastic. paired with a rye ale was fantastic. cardiologist referral optional.

great food, great beer. when my friends and i are looking for a place to hang out, four pegs is always high on the list. the food is delicious, especially the beer glazed burger and chicken and waffle sandwich. the beer list is also amazing. some of my favorite beers in the world (dogfish head 120 minute, founders kentucky breakfast stout, and ommegang three philosophers to name a few) have all been on tap here!

i've noticed that quite a few people have commented on the service being "bad." however, i don't understand what they're talking about. the staff is awesome, and they're really knowledgeable about the beer and food. i suppose that ordering at the bar might throw a few people off, but the bartenders have always been prompt whenever i've asked them for something.

overall, if you like good beer and tasty food, then you'll probably like four pegs.
