flying saucer

fun time with friends. great time since moving from the old building into the newlocationthat used to be 8.0s. i think marc and the crew has done a great job. some of us non-full-time-beer-drinkers like to occasionally have the option to drink the now available liquor. the patio, lighting and atmosphere is great. trivia tuesdays with prizes is a lot of fun, however get there early for that because seating goes quick! the best thing on the menu are the hot pretzels... oh and the beer!

beer nerd nirvana. sure, it's a chain, but it's a good chain that offers a vast array of beer styles from breweries everywhere. apparently, each flying saucer site showcases local breweries. i liked the atmosphere andlocationof the fort worth flying saucer. packed on a wednesday evening. good service.

not an improvement.... the oldlocationconvinced my wife that she loves beer flights however the beer at thislocationwas mostly flat and warm. the open air is fine, smoking didnt bother us much but even beers we order elsewhere tasted off.

suckage. hadn't been to the newlocationand decided to try it out on a friday. walked outside to the beer garden passed roughly 25 people sitting along the glass smoking cigars and cigarettes. end up sitting way down at the end of the glass and watch several servers look at us and walk away. finally was able to flag down someone to take our order., tried to order the ommagang that was plastered all over on signs inside to be told they had been out of that for a while. server watches me cut and light my cigar as she is taking our order and as soon as she walks away one of the security guys tells me that i cannot smoke along the glass and cigars are not allowed outside in the beef garden. i thought that he was just kidding being that i just walked past 25 or so people sitting along the glass smoking and 10 or so were smoking "gasp" cigars. nope he was serious and when confronted about their assinine policy, i got the sorry that isn't my policy. he said that cigars aren't allowed outside in the beer garden at either at the tables or along the glass regardless of how many were smoking there. needless to say i will not be back to an establishment that is run in that fashion
