beer emporium. i can't say i would recommend this place as a restaurant. this is a beer emporium, now i love to try newbeersand they have some unique offerings here. if you're like me they have just the thing. it's a tray of 5 differentbeersin 5 ounce glasses all from one region. they call it "beer flight" we tried the germany flight i believe it was $11.

we ordered sandwiches they were ok, i wouldn't go back to eat here, i may go back to have drinks with friends though. the problem i had with the place is that they have so manybeersthey use a walk in cooler. so all thebeersi tried were not as cold as i like. they were more like cool. i know there is some beer purest that will tell you about what temperature beer in other countries is served at etc. but this is texas and i like my beer really cold.

i would like to recognize jessica our server, delightful service and very helpful and knowledgeable. i really enjoyed her story about the weekend crowds and the girls that filter in and order a "margarita"?

a great place to hang out with friends or the special one! you get variety ofbeersbut do try the samplers first to find out the one that suites your taste.
evenings would be the best time to visit as you can sit in the open, and have a great time with your friends.
food menu does not have a lot of options.

not an improvement.... the old location convinced my wife that she loves beer flights however the beer at this location was mostly flat and warm. the open air is fine, smoking didnt bother us much but evenbeerswe order elsewhere tasted off.

i'm not sure where to begin. i loved the old flying saucer. loved it. the atmospher, the beer- everything was wonderful. so, i couldn't wait to try the new location. my fiance and i went one weekend not too long ago for the first time. upon entry, i was surprised by how much had changed. aka everything. it's not a fimly lit cozy tucked- away beer haven anymore, it's got the feel of a fast food resaurant. the patrons were (disturbingl) loud and unruly and interupted out meal multiple times with their yelling. yes, yelling.
we ordered twobeersand some sort of unmemorable sandwhich which came with a side of fries, which could have easily passed for an old greasy order of mcdonald's. needless to say, i was and am very disappointed in the new location. i doubt i will return, it's just too depressing. at least sherlock's has decent food.

we ate here tonight for dinner and i had the hippie hollow and my husband had the reuben-esque. we chose to eat here based on my friend's dad who had a specific diet and the menu was great for his diet. my husband and i don't drink alcohol, but we had the saint arnold's rootbeersand those were good. i will say that the food was really awesome for me. i got two pitas with hummus and salad and it was very delicious. the pita bread was soft and fresh. my husband's sandwich was ok, but not great. he felt that the sandwich was lacking sauerkraut and dressing.

as far as customer service goes, they were pretty horrible. our waitress constantly was giving us excuses as to why she wasn't getting things we ordered (i.e. my friend ordered a beer and it took about 45 minutes for her to bring it out. the same applied for my root beer.). i understand things get busy, but sometimes i just like an apology and a "i'll get right on it." she seemed annoyed a lot of the time and she rolled her eyes when she thought we weren't looking.

also, the water tastes like dirt... which is probably part of their ploy to get people to drink anything but water. smart business plan, but very annoying for the few that want water.

beer is why you go. this isn't a restaurant. it's a bar that happens to serve food. nothing is spectacular, most of it is likely frozen or pre-packaged, but whatever. it's only supposed to soak up all of the tasty brews you'll likely be sucking down. no other place in town has this manybeerson tap, some great variety and there's new stuff all the time. if you like beer, real beer, this place should be in your rotation.
