charge for refills. can't complain about the view, especially on a sunny day. the service was average, and thefoodwas above average pub food, but what i didn't like was paying for a refill on my iced tea. not only was an iced tea $3.25, a refill was $0.67! i could maybe be okay with it if the actual price was lower, but charging more than most restaurant do in victoria for an iced tea/soda and then charging for a refill of something that maybe has an actual cost of $.08 just doesn't seem right. but hey, i guess they have bills to pay. rent must not be cheap in a location like that...

regulars - love it.. we are regulars at the flying otter, and i have to say in the many many times we have been, we have been disappointed once. thefoodis fantastic, as is the service, and should any problems arise it is fixed without question.

would definitely recommend to locals and tourists alike.

yesterday was the second time i've been to the flying otter, and i won't be back agian for anything but a beer. the location is fantastic with a beautiful patio, but the rest was meh. dirty cutlery i was willing to look past but thefoodi can't. got the halibut wrap and it was just sad. the wrap was 95% super sweet coleslaw with a few scraps of halibut in it, gross. fries were cold and over seasoned. my girlfriends salmon wrap was equally sad, waaaay over spiced and swimming in chipotle mayo. the drinks were good though.

a disappointing night. went there for a second night as the first time was excellent,tonight though thefoodwas very disappointing for me and the 3 friends i was with,even the on tap beer that was recommended had to be sent back, the service was was not up to par,the girls mind was definitely elsewhere,won't be going back anytime soon.

greatfoodand service . delicious burger , salad and beer. i will be coming back the next time i visit victoria! saturday night and the place was packed yet no waiting in line .

always goodfoodat good prices at this place. service was great even though the restaurant was quite busy. great fish and chips, clam chowder, and usually fantastic burgers! a staple when in vic!

we wish there was a no star option. after having lunch we both came down with the most unbearablefoodpoisoning. we would never had left a review except for thefoodpoisoning. this restaurant doesn't deserve a review. we couldn't believe that $2 glass of coke would need 50 cents for a refill.

iwhere does management get the mind set to get the customer in the door.... serve greatfoodat a above average price which i have know complaint but here comes the kicker. ask for horseradish....its an added charge of 50 cents and ask for some butter and its an added charge of 25 cents!!!! ..... come on guys i'm going to spend 175 dollars , don't nickel and dime the customer for condiments.....even mc'donald's and burger king don't practice this policy......
when will you guys be installing the coin slots for the restrooms. ??????

great view and nice mood but the service was quite slow and thefoodwas nothing special. it's worth going for the view and central location.

good value for money and fantastic spot on the harbour. happy hour specials are always cheap. foodis good but cant beat the flying beaver in richmond.

used to come here for wings years ago and loved it. came back finally for the burger beer deal and was not impressed. calamari appy was decent but the burger was destroyed by salt. seriously, who thinks adding that much salt to anything is a good idea? the burger was pretty much inedible as a result. waitress was pleasant but asked twice for napkins (4 people and we only got 3, eating messy burgers) and eventually i just grabbed some off the next table. won't go back, unless i suddenly turn into a deer and need my salt lick fix. what chef destroysfoodwith that much salt? i don't get it. what a waste.

always a pleasant experience.. the first time we were went to the flying otter was for a christmas party. the patio, even in the winter, was a delight to sit on and enjoy the company of our fellow rotaractors. since then, we've been back a few times. its a great location to sit during the summer, but does get really busy. make sure you try to go just before the big rush times. thefoodhas always been enjoyable and even better they do a few meals that are garlic free. my father-in-law has a sever allergy and finding places that make enough things from scratch is always a hard task (seriously, you get tired of the same chinese restaurant after a while).

wouldn't say this place is kid friends, especially at dinner time.

go for the location -foodis so-so. the flying otter has a super location and we will definitely go back for a beer on a sunny day and watch the seaplanes, boats and other marine activity in victoria's inner harbour. we were walking by when an urge for a bite grabbed us and we thought we would try the flying otter as someplace new to us. it was really busy; a combination of a beautiful day and the busker's festival. still we got a table with a nice view and we got really good service from the wait staff. we didn't have a big meal, just a simple lettuce wrap shared between the two of us.

the lettuce wrap was an exercise in bland. okay, i admit that i am more used to a beef or pork style wrap. this was chicken or something and it was virtually tasteless. i definitely would not recommend it. the other dishes that came out of the kitchen looked good and people were enjoying them. so i would consider going again but this time having something different.

steak night was so good!! $11.99 for a steak, salad, baked potato and prawns. such a great deal and thefoodtasted amazing! tiffany was our server and she is great! the service, atmosphere, andfoodare all excellent! we will be making a weekly event of thursday steak night at the otter :)

fave location and great food. had the warm goat cheese salad which is almost enough for a meal. it is probably the best salad in town. then had the shroom pizza, that has plenty of mushrooms on a very thin slightly burned at the edges crust, this adds a nice flavour. the service was great even though they were very busy. ordered clam chowder to go for a friend, and all was done efficiently with a smile. definietely my favourite downtown eatery.

more local craft beers!. loved the black and blue steak salad! this place is my absolute favourite downtown pub with decent food. i do wish they would feature more victoria craft beers. bringing out of town customers here is always a treat for them.

good, but can be better. one of my favourite places forfood& beer. it does not get better than this for a true inner harbour ambiance. thefoodis from good to very good, the beer selection really needs work. suggest they sell only victoria beers (they could use that in their advertisements!) we have such excellent craft breweries here and it is hard to find places that serve them. otter would be the best place to meet up with the gang for a local pint.
