five restaurant bistro

great atmosphere. and good food. while i"m not terribly pleased that all the restaurants in edmonds seem to be serving gourmet pizza these days - the pear gorgonzola pizza here is amazing and i order it for an appetizer each time i visit. the other items that i have had on the menu are good too including the carne asada. one great thing about thisplaceis the lighting. they have it right and have paid attention to the detail. though the restaurant is in a strange spot - sort of a strip mall - they have enough good things going that it is now in our regular line of up good places to eat in the area.

not cool enough. we went there approx. a year ago. we are a middle aged couple without spiky hair or all black clothing. after we waited 15 min. or so the waiter sauntered up and asked what we wanted. we said we'd like a table. after cooly appraising us he said " i donnknow what yer gonna do were all full up. maybe you can sit at the bar." my wife pointed to the 1/2 dozen empty tables and asked why we couldnt sit out in the restuarant. the waiter said that the tables were for his "regular" customers.placelooked nice enough,but obviously they only want a certain clientele

i don't understand the few negative reviews regarding the food. i've never had a bad or even marginal experience there. we eat the often. one big criticism tho is the loud noise inside. they really must do something about the noise. i know others that love the food but don't go often as they might because of how loud it gets when they are busy. please do something about the noise level.

we have been coming here since it opened. food is terrific. finally a goodplacein edmonds. the owner is a nice guy and he try's hard. i don't understand the bad revues because everyone i know loves this place. guess that just goes to show, some people are never satisfied.

greatplaceto take your date. good price, not the same dishes as everywhere

i enjoyed. have a late lunch, bring your laptop, and enjoy, i did!

elegantplaceto bring a date. i had a latte $3.50,and salumi - 3 types of salami (spicy sopressata, mole, finnochio) and baguette for 7.95 for a total of $11.45 plus 1.09 tax plus 20% tip.

all tasted very good, more than enough food for lunch. i am also a barista, so i know if the shots are pulled well. nice atmosphere. i will go back to have dinner. i must say prices are average, all wine is is below $6. a glass. i would say i like the music, should be quieter during the morning and afternoon.

beautiful restaurant, great food, good service, love the presentation. we live near the 5 bistro and have probably been there 10 times or more. we have always received excellent service and delicious food that is presented in creative and fun ways (love the salad in a mason jar).
i'm a vegetarian and my boyfriend is a meat eater and we are both able to find plenty of options. the pizza is really good and could be split between two people. many of the salads are also large and could be shared. the children's mac and cheese is to die for!
mixed drinks are fabulous but i am not a big fan of their espresso as it has been bitter every time i order a latte.
we've tried the tiramisu, coffee mouse and gelato affogato and all have been deliciious.
the restaurant decor is funky and fun and there's a great patio during the summer with blankets for patrons on chilly nights.
my only suggestions would be that i'd appreciate a vegetarian entree option and no more bitter espresso please.

love five. i can't stop eating the chicken. my husband loves the carne asada. the salmon was fantastic. love the salads, love the scallops. haven't tried the pizzas.

the owner is friendly, fun and attentive. we love that this greatplaceis minutes from our home. we've been three times and we've been very happy with our meal three times.

excellent!. have eaten there twice and ordered food to go as well, everything has been excellent....lovingly prepared and delicious! so glad we have anotherplacein edmonds to enjoy.

no chips :(. i took my husband on a date to this cute little bistro. i was excited to try this newplaceas we love trying new places in the area. my husband had a really hard time not having chips or fries at a bistro to go with his sandwiches. our sandwiches were tasty but a little extra would have gone a long way!
place was cute, but hope the managers takes all criticism as constructive and changes up some things. theplacehas potential to be popular for our area.

los angeles quality!!. this is exactly the type ofplacewe've been looking for since moving up from los angeles! every dish we've tried has been wonderful, full of flavor and craveable! it has the artistic atmosphere that would fit perfectly in a la setting and the dishes are a well planned experience - as any great restauraunt should be!! two thumbs up!

food was good but........... it took a long time for the food to arrive and we had to ask for tableware. why not set the table before people arrive? and what is up with a cesar salad in a mason jar? then it had to go on a plate to be eaten. maybe if the kitchen staff spent less time making something that immediately needs to be deconstructed, the food would arrive sooner. it is a cuteplacebut i am not sure we would return.

yikes!. i was waiting for the opportunity to try thisplaceout. i thought it would be wonderful to be able to go "just down the street" to a greatplacefor a glass of wine and an appy. i was very dissapointed! we ordered 2 glasses of wine (1 each) and the cheese plate. when we received the bill it came to almost $30.00! i will not go back and pay that kind of money for a couple glasses of wine and a few small slices of cheese! also, the watress was rude. we told her it was very hot in the restaurant and she replied that that is just the way it is!

love it - really!. i was there twice this week and it is now my favorite newplacein edmonds.

to start, my wife had the clams, i had the chopped salad, and my uncle had the hummus. none of us wanted to share our food, it was that good.

the three of us then split two pizzas. they taste wood-fired, and are just gorgeous. a bottle of wine later and we were on our way home....with another chop salad to go!!

finally!. finally, someone gets it! it's so nice to not have to drive to seattle for a bite to eat at aplacethat has that urban neighborhood feel. we stopped in to check it out mainly because a friend told us they had stumptown coffee (we missed that ever since zu cafe closed) . the staff was super warm and friendly. the decor is very tastefully hip.the menu is simple and inexpensive. we just had the hummus plate and it was awesome! we will definitely tell our friends and shall return for more.
