awful overpriced pizza. i was so disappointed when i got my pizza. first the crust was black and lacking taste since it was burnt to a crisp. very few toppings placed on each oddball slice not a typical roundpizzawith wedge slices a very grotesque shape that was cut in all shorts of shapes. the toppings were light and i mean light and what i was mostly upset with was the cost. thispizzaonly feeds one for a meal so if you split it with others prepare to order more food or leave hungry. way over priced for what i received don't waste your time or money on thepizzanot a winner in my book.

great atmosphere. and good food. while i"m not terribly pleased that all the restaurants in edmonds seem to be serving gourmetpizzathese days - the pear gorgonzolapizzahere is amazing and i order it for an appetizer each time i visit. the other items that i have had on the menu are good too including the carne asada. one great thing about this place is the lighting. they have it right and have paid attention to the detail. though the restaurant is in a strange spot - sort of a strip mall - they have enough good things going that it is now in our regular line of up good places to eat in the area.

so happy to have this restaurant in edmonds!. we ate at five last night and had a perfect experience. the food was amazing, the atmosphere very fun and hip, and great service. my husband had the salmon served over black bean puree with roasted asparagus and it was incredible. we could eat that dish many times a week! i had the smoked mozzarella and pancettapizzaand it was sooooo good. yummy!!! the service was great. what a great restaurant to have in edmonds. we can't wait to go again. thank you ted!

not impressed. we ate dinner here a week ago and left very unimpressed. the positives are that the decor is great and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. i could see that the outdoor patio would be charming in the summer. however, decor never makes up for mediocre food. we started with the scallop appetizer which tasted very fishy. not fresh! our friend ordered a salad that was inedible due to the fact that it was doused in salt! i took a bite to confirm that it tasted like seawater. we sent it back. thankfully, they took the charge off of our bill. my table mates had thepizzawhich they enjoyed. the times review said that the crust at five rivaled serious pie, a huge overstatement. tom douglas is the master. the crust was good but couldn't touch the pie's crust. i ordered the salmon. i loved the black bean puree, roasted lemon half on top and the pretty presentation. the rest was a disaster. the salmon was very overcooked and the entire dish was literally swimming in a bath infused oil. a drizzle of oil would have been delightful, but it was literally like a cup of oil on the plate. it totally ruined the dish. being underwhelmed with most of our choices we skipped dessert and went home vowing not to return. so many other good places in edmonds to get a better meal.

i love five!. if i'm deciding where to go, it's usually five. i love the food (pear pizza), hummus and the peanut butter gelato! i'm so happy when i have leftoverpizzathe next day. ted is great and we've always had great service.

and, for all of who want more bread - just ask for it! they'll bring you more... (and it's really yummy, too).

kudos to ted and his staff. we love your place.

beautiful restaurant, great food, good service, love the presentation. we live near the 5 bistro and have probably been there 10 times or more. we have always received excellent service and delicious food that is presented in creative and fun ways (love the salad in a mason jar).
i'm a vegetarian and my boyfriend is a meat eater and we are both able to find plenty of options. thepizzais really good and could be split between two people. many of the salads are also large and could be shared. the children's mac and cheese is to die for!
mixed drinks are fabulous but i am not a big fan of their espresso as it has been bitter every time i order a latte.
we've tried the tiramisu, coffee mouse and gelato affogato and all have been deliciious.
the restaurant decor is funky and fun and there's a great patio during the summer with blankets for patrons on chilly nights.
my only suggestions would be that i'd appreciate a vegetarian entree option and no more bitter espresso please.

love this restaurant and we're thrilled to have a hip, modern and great place to eat in edmonds!

excellent!. one of my standby favorite restaurants! the chop salad is my new favorite salad! my wife craves thepizza(better than delancey's!) and the salmon entree on the black bean puree is truly the best salmon dish i have had in seattle! and we are foodies! the waitstaff are friendly, attentive and never far. recommended highly!

excellent. the caesar salad was the best i have had -- ever. the dressing was tasty and held the parmesan to the greens very evenly. the pepperonipizzawas also excellent. it seemed made from fresh, low fat ingredients (i know -- pepperoni?) and the crust had a salty treat when you finished a piece.

five! five days a week. we love this wonderful addition to our neighborhood. have eaten breakfast, lunch & dinner - no not all in the same day. but there was a time we had company for about a week and a half, and i think we were there 5 times! simple but "out of the box" menu. love the "madame" in the morning. our guests loved the mussels. have enjoyed every salad we have tried! sandwiches too! i am not a big tomato & meat typepizzafan, so, so refreshing to have some unusual choices. i love, love the "pear pizza" (pear, gorgonzola, pine nuts, dill - mmm good.

a perfect spot. it's so nice to see a lovely restaurant open in my hometown! i can't decide what i like more: the food, the decor, or the service! i find it kind of funny that there are some neg reviews here from people who have only written one review (hint, hint to the neighboring restaurant).

the lunch is supper yummy and i've quickly become a huge fan of the clt sandwich, which is just the best new thing i've eaten all year. the salads are a great size and i really appreciate the menu choices -- some healthy, all filling!

dinner is my favorite, though. the 5 bistropizzais a marvel: just enough for one person, with a brushed crust (and just a hint of sea salt?). my son now begs to go here for our evenings out.

5 appetizers, 5 salads, 5 pizzas, 5 desserts = 5 stars!

crowd pleaser. ambience: we love the decor. it's hip and comfortable, but not stuffy! it's obvious that the owners put a lot of thought into the design. it's great for a casual date, dinner with friends or a family outing.
menu: we like the clever idea of having five items in the different food categories (as the name would imply). we always prefer fewer menu items that are tried and true!
our favorites: the scallop appetizer is crazy good...so good that our friend turned around and ordered it again as her entree. the farmpizzais super addictive..you'll be back for more! thepizzacrust has a hint of salt that makes it irresistible (even for the anti-crust crowd). the dinner size chop salad was plenty large to share. kids will love the mac-n-cheese. and, don't get us started on the gelato topped with an espresso shot. the stumptown espresso served here is the best in town. treat yourself to a croque madame for breakfast one day. you will not be disappointed!

so wanted to like this restaurant. very disappointing and $$$$$. i am just home from our first visit to five and we all so wanted to like it!! i am sad that it was so disappointing. there were 4 of us. we ordered a bottle of the house red. at $24, it was more like a gallon wine....you know, the kind by the jug for $5 a gallon. ok, we can get past it. so we ordered 2 salads to share and 3 pizzas to share. the salads for $10.95 were smaller than a jack in the box salad with far less flavor. we were enticed to order the one with fennel and fresh basil, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella. it was called an entree salad but it was so not that. no flavor, very bland and very small. ok, let's move on to pizzas. still having our hopes up, we ordered the one with arugula and prisciutto, the sausage one and the pear one. the only one with any flavor was the sausage one (with 3 small pieces of sausage). boring, bland and expensive. the bill for 4 of us came to $93. portofinos would kick it's behind or even the new ebulo restaurant'spizzain edmonds. so sad. we won't be back. it's not often that you are disappointed with every single item you ordered and we ordered a lot. sorry five......
