very rude staff!. theburgerwas very good (as i'd heard) and the place was packed (as i'd also heard). there was a long line to get in, but that's to be expected for a newly-opened trendy spot. the reason for my low rating is the amazingly rude staff member i encountered. while enjoying drinks and dinner with a group of friends in the outdoor seating area i got a little chilly and decided to go to the car to grab a jacket. instead of wading back through the dense crowd to walk out the door i hopped over a short railing (less than waist high) that runs along the wall separating the restaurant from the street. as soon as i did, this very intense "bouncer" guy rushed over and said very forcefully, "i'm not going to let you back in tonight." he went on in the stern tone of an angry parent, "why would you do that? why wouldn't you just walk through and use the door?" i apologized and said, "i'm sorry, i just thought this would be quicker. i wasn't thinking." but then the guy kept pushing it! he was right up in my face going on about how he'd already kicked five people out that night for jumping over the railing. i apologized again but he continued to dress me down like a little kid, which caused a scene and was very embarrassing. it was like the guy wanted a fight, but i continued to apologize and keep my cool. finally, he said he'd let me back in but i'd have to wait in line again (even though my friends were all still at the table). i guess it was his way of "punishing" me! the thing is, i understand why they don't want customers jumping over the railing and i see how someone could get hurt doing it. but maybe they should get a higher railing or put up signs instead of treating their customers like juvenile delinquents. this is one 33 year old man who won't be going back to a restaurant where i'm going to be spoken to like a child. it's unfortunate that a disrespectful staff member ruined the experience. for a greatburgerand a friendly staff try the counter.

the smoked eel was wonderful, although i wish i had sliced toasted baguette pieces to put the deliciously soft eel on. the hubby shared a slice of the officeburgerwith me and i’m surprised he shared because i wouldn’t have. instead of molded ground beef, the patty is made with small chunks of beef formed tightly together, salted sufficiently to bring out that singular beef taste. the patty is hefty enough that you could almost forget that it’s sandwiched between two pieces of bread.

simplicity. i am a fan of simple things - processes, designs, operations - and father's office is exactly that. simple wood panels on the walls, everyone orders at the same location (the bar), and the menu is short (in my opinion, resulting in better quality dishes). however, the menu may be too short considering the uncommon items, but i do understand the point of a gastropub. . . either way, i found my way to theburgerwith a side of sweet potato fries. theburgerwas slightly undercooked in respect to my order, but that did not detract from the taste. theburgerwas one of the best i have ever had (the restaurant's menu is not on the site but theburgerhad gruyere, bleu cheese, arugula, and caramelized onions that taste similar to bbq sauce, on a role, not a bun, which is a big plus). beer selection is not incredible, but they maintain the class by finding ones that are not commonly served. be warned (again, recognizing that it is a gastropub) that the price is a little high, but the value is subjective. everything was delicious, beverages are served in the appropriate glassware (awesome), the restaurant's aesthetics were perfect, and the staff were friendly. thumbs up.

beers and burger!. the place gets packed fast, especially on the weekends, so get there early. good selection of beers and a simple menu. i've only ever had theburgerand i feel like that's all you need. couple beers, a really good burger, some sweet potato fries and it's a good night. i agree with the one review that mentions that it's not such a novelty anymore offer such a selection of draft beers. but, the beer and food are good and it's a cool atmosphere, so i'll be back!

the menu is as cute as the name. but the burgers are serious business. esquire magazine rates the officeburgeramong the best in the world. so will you. expect long lines, and a constant buzzing energy. umm, who's that sitting across from me? didn't he have a show on the disney channel? up your standards and order the obscurest craft beer. follow the rules, and don't go asking asking for anything fancy on yourburgerlike ketchup.

i can never get tired of this place.

the beer selections are great, not to mention the father's officeburgerthat pairs well with any beer here. the music is cool and the bartenders have good knowledge of which beers compliments certain dishes. (i've always gotten a bartender who knows)

there are other items on the menu to order besides the burger. however the menu does change from time to time either removing a dish you might like or keeping it for a bit longer. rip fat shrimp lol

a great place to go for brews with friends. while you're at it, grab the burger. you wont be disappointed.

when you pull in, there's free valet parking.
this location was very mellow and had plenty of outdoor seating.
they have a great selection of beer and wine. (wine on tap!)
ordered the eggplant fritters, the officeburgerwith fries, and the mushroom grits.
the food, drinks and atmosphere was amazing. would definitely come back!

now, this has been called the bestburgerin america at one point by esquire magazine. it’s not.

it’s a damn fine burger. you’ll thank yourself for having it., but it’s not the bestburgerin america. heck, i’m not even sure it’s the bestburgerin town.

there really isn’t any problem with it. they do serve it with a brown, sticky sweet aioli of some kind. (some kind, because the father’s office website does not have a menu page).

they also serve just the one kind of burger, so…there’s that.

it’s a damn fine burger, and damn fine fries. they didn’t blow my mind or anything, but that’s okay.

the officeburgerat father’s office is acclaimed by many to be the bestburgerin los angeles. i know that may be a shock to diehard in-n-out fans, but sang yoon’s officeburgeris quite delicious. the gastropub offers some of amazing beer selections and pairs well with the menu. for this blog post, it will only concentrate on theburgerand fries.

cool hangout, good food. this gastropub has a great atmosphere. if you’re looking for a trendy bar with gourmet food, this is the place. the menu is small and they do not allow any customizations to your order, but the food is good. theburgeri had was juicy and the bread was fresh. it’s location is great, because it seems like it is the only business in the area that is open after “regular” business hours. so, there’s plenty of free parking in the lot nearby. we just stopped in for a quick bite to eat, but this seems like a great place to meet up with friends, have a beer and hang out.
