so close to perfect it was scary...

highly recommend the prawn starter, or the snails but im pretty sure everything would be equally amazing.

thesteakis indescribable. feta and jalapeño has never made more sense and the rump is just everything. cuts like butter and melts in your mouth.

i didn't make it to desert but what i tasted of calvin's cheesecake i was immediately saddened by that fact.

definitely one we'll go back to

let me start by saying that i have been going to fahrenheit edenvale for the last 7 - 8 years about 6 times a year and ive never had anything to complain about until last monday night.

we went for thesteakspecial. upon arriving we were given a table in what must have been the darkest corner ive ever seen in a restaurant. looking around i could see that the ceiling light directly above us was out. it was so dark we couldn't see our menus. i didn't want to be moved because the air con in the other sections was set to way too low a temperature so we just used our phone flashlights to read the menu.

the waiter then came to take our order. i ordered escargots as a starter and was duly told they are out of stock (kudos to our waiter for being informed on the restaurants stock outs).

then the evening got really strange regarding the house wine. my partner ordered a glass of spier cab sav for r55. i ordered the house wine for r30. when our wines came, my glass was half the size of hers??? i asked our waiter why and he explained to me that because i had paid less i got less wine. i argued that surely i paid less because i got a wine that was not the same quality. this whole discussion seemed to make my waiter very uncomfortable and he said he would get the manager to come and explain to me. well im still waiting.

upon finishing our meal we couldn't find our waiter when we wanted the bill. over the next 25 minutes we asked 4 different waiters to ask our waiter to bring our bill. after 25 minutes our waiter reappeared and informed me that no one had told him and he would organise our bill straight away. that took another 10 minutes and we eventually got out there.

i am not blaming the waiter here because i think that most of these issues were out of his control.

it was just generally a bad experience and i think management needs to put their hands up here and do better.

i gave the 1 star because our food was very good, as usual.

don't be fooled by the thicksteakthey show on their mobile billboard and facebook sponsored ad. four of us decided to try the monday night 490g sirloin special. what we all were served up was 4 very thin sirloin steaks which i doubt we're nowhere near 400g. we will not be back.

love this place, sometimes thesteakcould be a bit overcooked and they sometimes don’t offer creamy spinach. the kids play area is one of the best and biggest i’ve seen, filled with jumping castles and slides.
really good for family gatherings, i would recommend for all the pasta lovers out there to get the seafood alfredo

it was suppose to be an amazing dinner date that ended in me losing my appetite when my main course arrived, i ordered snails as a starter and got one pathetic little piece of bread with it, the sauce was so crusty from sitting under the pass for some time, we had to ask for more bread twice, shame!!
when i ordered one of their signature steaks i lost my appetite when it arrived at the table looking unpleasant and the veggies not cooked properly!!! i took two bites of mysteakand i asked for a doggy bag as i did not wanna eat anymore, it was disgusting!! i will never sit foot again in that restaurant again, the only thing i enjoyed about my evening was the wine i brought myself, what a shame. its a pity for such a “well known” restaurant chain.

2018/03/21 - always great! i’m a regular at fahrenheit. tonight i had the thai prawn curry again - very tasty and nice and spicy. the baby kingklip is also a favorite. tasty tender calamari - very popular. the menu is big and if seafood isn’t your thing - they make a greatsteaktoo. remember to save space for dessert - my favorite is the chocolate brownie. the staff are very attentive and friendly and the manager also pops around to each table to greet you. great service, great food, great atmosphere. nice play area for children as well.

waiter training is better then average, food was fanatic... thesteakand calamari was perfect... price reflects exactly what you get... perfect for special occasions and business functions

we decided to have our family lunch at this restaurant, and we didn't have a reservation due to it having been an impromptu decision. there is ample parking at this restaurant, and a guard overseeing the parking lot. we quickly made our way inside the restaurant and were quickly seated even though the area closest to the kiddies play area was full. there are huge facilities for kids to have their fun including arcade games, trampolines etc.
my 6 year old ordered a kiddies pizza which he had to make himself by rolling dough, choosing toppings before having it baked for him. he really enjoyed that activity. he had the bubblegum milkshake which he said he didn't enjoy as it was more grainy than smooth. i had the 600gram lamb chops served with rice and what a great and enjoyable meal it was. i devoured everythingon the plate. omphemetse mafubelu ordered the fahrenheitsteakwhich she wolved down with ease and precision. she also enjoyed the strawberry daiquiri.
the service from our waiter was top-notch. management was also quite visible ensuring that all went smoothly.
the restaurant was clean considering the volume of patrons that were there.
we would definitely return for our date night.

what started out as a crazy trip, travelling half way a cross johannesburg...a monday madness 400gsteakand a side for r89 from fahrenheit actually ended up being an epic adventure!

i never heard of fahrenheit! i guess i was thinking of the usualsteakhouses. back in the day it was only one option...spur, spur or spur... alas today we are spoilt for options.

edenvale is so lucky to have such an institution that really is fine dining at it's best. some may call it casual...but it's mighty fine.

the setting is what looks like is an old enormous house that's been converted into a very smart and stylish restaurant...oh and romantic.

sadly i have not yet experienced the chicken or seafood but the steaks are so amazing...i can just imagine what the rest of the menu is like.

the staff are so friendly and waiters assigned to sections, so you get a personalised experience...
i remember thinking that this place has to be pretty great if they are so packed on a monday.

i place my order and wait...check the menu out and wow it goes on and on and everything looks just too good to be true. the options are ludicrous...

my meal arrives.... 400g is pretty big and i just love my baked potatoes.
after preparing my baked potato by distributing salt, butter and cream all over it evenly and waiting for the combination to soak in...i turn to that mouthwatering steak.
the first bite! and wow...it just melts in your mouth and the flavor is amazing...
i can't seem to put my knife and fork down to have some more wine.
yes i'm thinking it and my arms are not responding to my mind...."i want a glass of wine!"
but my mind is telling me no! my hands refuse to let go of the knife and fork.

half time haha, i really need a glass of wine but then there is the baked potato.... drooping with butter and cream. i can't resist!!!
now my mind is really confused...."cntrl alt and delete!" options...

sigh! maybe a breather....?

i could not believe the quality of that steak, more so could not believe that not only did i finish thesteakand baked potato, i failed to finish my wine.:-)

how has this establishment been a secret since opening its doors in 2007 is amazing.
i can't wait to try their other branches out and start exploring the menu...

magic monday madness at fahrenheit...

last night we had dinner here. i was dying for prawns! i had the medium prawns. it was a plate full of big prawns, piping hot. it came with rice and sauces on the side. delicious. my bf had asteakwhich he wolfed down so quickly i barely saw it while peeling my prawns. the waiter freddie was amazing! he checked on us a few times. service was above and beyond. great dinner

the food is amazing...so refreshing to find 5 start dining in edenvale.

amazing seafood...delicious dessert and romantic setting.

they have amazing specials such as thesteakfor r89 and the quality is still out of this world.

i was craving a delicioussteakso we headed for a date night down the road at fahrenheit. we unfortunately got seated in the noisier non-smoking section where there are a lot of screaming kids. we also weren't looked after very well by our waiter who seemed quite disinterested in serving us, so that was quite sucky.

• calamari fiesta: we had a starter portion of this and man was it delish! the calamari was super tender and flavourful, and while the danish feta got a bit overpowering after a while it really did give the dish an extra kick.

• fillet steak: this medium rare filletsteakwas delicious! it was cooked so well and the meat was just melt-in-your mouth. i was really impressed. what i wasn't that impressed with was the side of veggies, i thought they were a bit underwhelming.

the food was good, but unfortunately the service and area we were seated brings down their score a bit for me.

thought we'd give fahrenheit another chance and it was much better than the previous occasion.
shared a french roquefort salad. fresh and tasty.
for mains we had the special sirloin on the bone pepper crusted with a jalapeño sauce. served medium rare as ordered. the t-bonesteakwas also excellent and lastly the 200g sirloin was perfect. finished off with baked potato.
we did byo for the wine. no dessert.
service was prompt and professional.
ambience was a bit bland but functional.
much better than last time.

was looking for a good seafood place to take my bf for his birthday, based on the reviews and menu (prices are outdated, just a heads up) we decided to try fahrenheit. the starters were disappointing (small portions and the squid heads were a little burnt), but the mains were really good. my boyfriend had the thundersteak(they under cooked it but it was really soft and delicious so that's ok), i had the prawns which were a good size and quite tasty. we had the chocolate brownie and malva pudding for dessert, i'm not a brownie fan and i found it a little dry but my boyfriend enjoyed it, the malva pudding was really tasty. our waiter was really friendly but seemed a bit flustered and even though i had made a booking, the lady from the front desk just plonked us down at the first table she found, which was for 4 people and we were only 2. so i wouldn't recommend going here for a date but as a family restaurant or if you want to take out a few friends it's really nice and has a cool vibe.

the r69 400g sirloin and chips is the monday special that keeps us coming back. goodsteakat a great price. efficient and friendly service.
