so-so. this was our 1st (and probably only visit) to fahrenheit. we were to meet our photographer for some pictures of the "great view" of the charlotte skyline, and then have dinner the week of may 4th. riding up in the elevator to the 21st floor was great - so we figured the view would be great as well. i must admit, i was very disappointed at the view. i had taken so many better pictures of charlotte's skyline from other locations around the city. quite honestly it was just so-so, and for anyone hoping that the railing will not be in the picture - forget about it - it's just too tall. the fire pits were a good touch.
while waiting for our photographer, we viewed the menu. honestly, i'd read that the prices were high, so i was convinced we should even eat there - maybe we should just get a drink. after viewing the menu, it didn't seem that the salad and pizzas were too out of line. so, we decided that's what we would eat. once we were finished outside, we ventured inside to our table that overlooked the "great view". i must admit the best part of the view was the fire pits. the restaurant was very busy at 6:30pm, with lowered lights for ambiance and quite loud.
we ordered the avocado and cucumber salad (chilies, cilantro, basil, toasted cashews, with gochujang vinaigrette) and a pepperoni (fennel confit, crushed tomatoes, provolone, crushed red pepper, parmesan) pizza (16"). the server brought us this wonderful bread and butter (which turned out was the best part of the meal.) the salad was good - fresh and spicy. the pizza was spicy as well, the pepperoni was large and spicy. we did discover that 1/2 the pizza was burnt on the bottom (consistent with an oven that was cooking uneven.)
the server was very attentive and animated. it was apparent that she loved doing what she did. i liked the fact that you could see the kitchen and what was going on in there; kind of like a chef ramsey tv show. it was entertaining.
the prices for what we ordered wasn't bad, but for anyone doing a meat or fish entrée, it was pricey.
