elements café bar - beverly hills hotel

the area in which the restaurant is situated is beautiful and the view of the sea is amazing. the staff is also very friendly and helpful. the food is good and the portions are nice.

my only complaint is that thehotelrunning it is a problem. i understand that ahotelcaters for their guests but we came to the restaurant hoping to sit and relax but we were made to feel like outsiders as a lot of the facilities were restricted which made us feel very uncomfortable.

everything about thishotelis too beautiful including the food and service, you cannot beat this location, it is beyond magnificent, very highly recommended

service at the beverly hillshotelis never consistent. this experience was one of the better ones. the battered hake was done perfectly on the inside and a light crisp batter on the outside complimented by a glass of de krans muscato. a semi sweet you will crave even if you're a red wine lover.

was at the beverly hillshotelin umhlanga and the service was terrible, the waitress did not clean the table and my husband told her not to put the food on the dirty table and she still did not clean the table, floor was also dirty, the old waitresses are all gone and the place is becoming a dump, it should change from 5 stars to 2 stars, think thehotelwas sold to new owners and they don't seem to worry about the place anymore. won't be going there again, even the food is not the same anymore.....this was for the christmas holidays 2015

beautiful relaxing cafe style restaurant in the beverley hillshoteloverlooking the sea. salad with beetroot, chickpeas and feta didn't disappoint- excellent dressing and good portion. i have down rated the restaurant as the service was slow. granted we were a table of 9 on a public holiday but there were plenty of waiters. we waited well over an hour for a lunch order and had look around for someone to take orders/ request something. a five starhotelshould be more jacked up! burger with a dash of chilli was outstanding.

such a beautiful setting - it's so peaceful to sit on the terrace overlooking the pool with the sea just beyond. we've been a number of times for drinks and each time we were unhappy with the shoddy service which is not good enough for ahotelof such high standard.
a few months ago we went for bloody mary cocktails. i was absolutely disgusted with the celery in my drink - wilted and mostly brown 😝 - so i complained and asked how they could even think of serving something like that. the waiter then brought fresh celery with an apology, but the impression had been made.
today we popped in for margueritas. waiters walked past us attending to the residents at the poolside. after about 15 minutes we asked for service. eventually a waitress took our order; at one stage the manager asked if we had been attended to and he said he'd chase up the order; a while later he passed us again and was astonished that we hadn't received our cocktails and said he'd chase them up again. our cocktails eventually arrived after over 30 mins! i must give them credit though - the manager was extremely apologetic and said that should never happen; we received a further apology from who i assume is the bar manager and the drinks were on the house.
i've rated them a 3 purely because the cocktails were delish and the setting is perfect. maybe next time the service will be better (but that's what i always say when i go there.)

i visited elements cafe for a tea and snacks date with a bunch of others. the cafe is really beautifully set and opens up onto the pool area of thehotelwith the most perfect view of the ocean and famous lighthouse. gorgeous table settings and ambience.

i enjoyed the savoury canapés and was well catered for with vegetarian snacks. the lemon cake squares, brownies and salmon bites were particularly good, so was the margarita pizza.
the basil pesto and chicken stacks plus savoury roast beef croissants were also a hit with my friends. the white chocolate and lime eclairs along with the macarons were very disappointing, so the food is quite hit and miss.

this is a great spot for a girly lunch or maybe even that romantic first date purely because of ambience and views. staff were very friendly and accommodating.
perhaps i will go back to try something more substantial since i have heard good things about the rice dishes.
