elements café bar - beverly hills hotel

personally feel like the elements cafe/bar is one of the most underrated places in durban. they have an absolutely amazing venue and layout overlooking umhlanga beach and the lighthouse. great for intimate drinks or lunch and dinner.

pathetic food. flat bread served raw! beef well over done after asking for medium. prawns are tasteless and livers not spicy. a big 'fuck you' attitude from the f&b manager. maybe coz it's not clebreties you serve. 50minutes for basic meals are pathetic waiting times! ps to the f&b manager: food should not be prepared to your liking, it should be prepared the way it should be at a 5 star hotel- never ever have i been served raw dough and the manager says he likes it that way that's y he serves it!!!! thank you to jabu, krinesh and mzwa for good service. f&b management needs to be reviewed here

beautiful day to be at a beautiful location!
we were well looked after by vusi who unfortunately left before we did
we had the chicken wings and they went well with the #worldchampagneday celebration our meeting turned into. sizable portions and well done

the area in which the restaurant is situated is beautiful and the view of the sea is amazing. the staff is also very friendly and helpful. the food is good and the portions are nice.

my only complaint is that the hotel running it is a problem. i understand that a hotel caters for their guests but we came to the restaurant hoping to sit and relax but we were made to feel like outsiders as a lot of the facilities were restricted which made us feel very uncomfortable.

really good food and fantastic setting. pity about the waiters who seemed more concerned talking loudly to each other than attending to guests.

cant go wrong here! wow the views the service and the food all come together to make a lunch date so memorable! their moet is  unbelievably good value compared even to the bottle stores and complements most of their dishes well. oysters prawn tempura lamb curry baby pizza's all big wins.

first of all let me just say this place is beautiful. the decor and ocean views are to die for. i had the cajun chicken pizza and the beverly hills cocktail which was suggested by our waiter. the food came out speedily and was delicious & fresh and the cocktail was also yummy. great spot in durbs👌🏽

this review is for high tea at beverly hills. high tea is served in the lounge area overlooking the pool and beach. the inside is cozy and well decorated with soft music. the tables are well spaced out so allowing for intimate conversations. this is where the good stuff ends. the service is pathetically slow despite so many waiters milling around. even though waiters of other tables saw us sitting idle, not one thought to check in on us. guess it’s each waiter to their own. i was incredibly disappointed with the food - no one had asked if we had dietary preferences and so after serving us a plate of meat dishes, i had to send it back. after receiving a vegetarian plate and confirmation that the samoosas were potato and pea, i bit into one only to realise it was mince. i ended up eating only the cheese and tomato sandwich. we could choose just one hot drink, which is quite unusual for a high tea experience. if you want to have high tea in dbn, rather bypass this establishment and visit the oyster box.

cappuccino was top class. lunch was durban lamb curry with all the trimmings. hit the spot on a cold day.

cannot fault the meals we had. taste, presentation... spot on. i'll definitely visit the place again if i'm in the area. it tastes as good as it look and it looks amazing.

always a great ambiance with high quality drink and food! i've noticed a huge improvement at elements and i hope that the chef and his/her team keep up the great work! i am looking forward to trying the pistachio chicken very soon👌

amazing setting, view, service and food!
good choice of wine available as well, but the menu is a bit limited. our waiter recommended the lamb curry and even though i'm not the biggest fan of curry it was one of the best i've tasted. the sambals were delicious, it was just the right size, not too spicy and comes with rice and a rotti. for dessert we shared the coffee cake, which was only ok, and then we had the cinnamon bun which was outstanding! the whole experience was a treat!

location is great with sea view , the lamb curry boneless and good quality meat , great flavour and decent serving , the ceaser salad and line fish also excellent

everything about this hotel is too beautiful including the food and service, you cannot beat this location, it is beyond magnificent, very highly recommended
