arrogant, defensive, abusive management

before i go anywhere, i check whether there is anything i can eat given my considerable dietary limitations. when i called i was specific that i can only eat vegan with egg or fish. the young lady started listing names of dishes she thought would be ok for me. i asked her for details. the first ingredient she stated was 'shrimp'. oops... so i asked for a manager. he was very defensive about how wonderful thefoodwas and how they had a wide variety available they could make from scratch and how his staff does not need to be better trained to listen and had no intent to harm anyone. sorry, intent is not relevant to causing an anaphylactic shock in someone due to negligence. i would not trust these people to prepare safe food.

this place is a must go to when in prescott, az. thefoodwas top notch and staff were awesome. we love tapas places and have been hit and miss in our travels but this is by far a hit. they have a large and varied selection of tapas along with a good variety of main courses. we stuck with the tapas menu as we like to try different things but it was hard not to order off the main course menu as there were some enticing choices. the wait staff was perfect. they didn't hover over us and only stopped by when it appeared we needed something. even though they were busy we didn't feel rushed and was allowed to eat at our own pace and enjoy each selection. the bonus was when when we got the bill. we weren't keeping up with everything we ordered but we had tried so many items i prepared myself for a fairly large bill. however this was not the case, with a main course salad, 6 tapas and a couple of micro brew beers it was less then $50. for the quality and quantity it was a great value. this will be one of our go to places anytime we are in prescott.

seems like a great place. i'm glad we arrived before we got hungry. the service gave me time for my appetite to catch up with myfooddelivery. if you have lots of time on your hands, this is a great choice.

what's with the service?. thefoodwas good. never got the sauce that was supposed to come with.foodtook a loooong time! server just said sorry. not sure if i'll be back or not.

great food, terrible service. we were at local first az mixer where i met barry and his partner. since the mixer didn't have much food, so we decided to goto try el gato azul. i have to say that thefoodwas amazing, the flavors were unique and the ingredients were off the wall fun and refreshing. however, our server kathryn was terrible. she greeted us about 10 minutes after we sat, took forever to come back for the drink order. she never check on us with the apps. multiple times she would just disregard our table and go do something else. kathryn asked if we were done and we asked for a box to go. when she brought thefoodback from packaging, we were going to ask for a desert menu. instead she dropped thefoodand the check off assuming we were done. then it took another 15 minutes to realize she may never get back to the table.so we got up and handed her the check to be paid. i went back to the table to sign the check. i was so appalled with her that i left her nothing and wrote "get a new job!" please fix the waitstaff!!!

great food, unruly service. it's tough rating a restaurant that has greatfoodif the service is absolutely terrible. the service was sooooo bad that i am actually posting this weeks after my girlfriend and i actually ate here. our server was a snobby, self-obsessed girl who took care of our dining experience, she never smiled, and made many assumptions and accusations towards her co-workers. what good is greatfoodwith terrible service.

food ok, service not. really bad service and it was a tuesday. ordered drinks and 4 tapas. all thefoodarrived at the same time, half was cold. wait staff constantly apologizing, and with reason. not enough fun to return/

pleasant suprise. we stumbled onto el gato azul thinking it was a mexican restaurant. it was early march when we visited and cold outside but the covered porch area was enclosed, equipped with patio heaters and plenty warm. the place was full but there was not a line at the door. i was curious about local beers and was brought a samples of several to help pick one. i would say that the waitress was professional but aloof at first, but was extremely friendly once we demonstrated we had questions. we had some questions about menu items and she was very helpful. we ordered, enjoyed our drinks and received our orders fairly quickly. thefoodwas outstanding! it was perfectly cooked and seasoned very well. we travel a lot and this was the best we have had in a long time anywhere. the duo playing instruments were very good but did not need to be amplified in the small space. that would be my only minor issue with the place. i highly recommend it.

yummy!! yes thefoodwas delicious!! and the wine too lol .. pricing a little steep and the last night we went i didn't care for the 'entertainment' buuuut once that packed up..the atmosphere was nice.

this is the most amazing delicious restaurant in our opinion in prescott. happy hour is a great deal. i have no words for how delicious thefoodis.the ambience is incredible on the exterior patio. the people are very friendly and professional. this is our new go to restaurant!! well done well done!! if you haven't gone you are missing out i urge you to go you will not be disappointed. :)

nice place. second time we've been here. this place is small but has a nice feel to it. they have a small outdoor patio and we stopped by on a night with music. it's laid back and chill. thefoodwas okay, the service was okay, we'll probably stop by again. if you haven't been in before it's worth it to stop in.

green chile enchiladas. not a very good example of the genre and too pricey. stick with the non-mexicanfoodat this restaurant.

paella. shrimp, mussels, scallops, chicken, and a nice spiciness from the chorizo sausage, all cooked in a saffron rice. very satisfying.

tiny place, great food. we went here on a thursday evening and ate very early. the waitstaff was atrocious, even though she couldn't go anywhere not within sight of our table, trying to get her attention was impossible. regardless, thefoodwas great, cooked to perfection and was different and unique. we started with a tapas of blackened scallops. just the right amount of heat, and grilled perfectly. for dinner, my husband had the poblano mac and cheese. despite not being all that hungry, and not liking "spicy" food, he devoured every morsel. i had the grilled duck breast. the duck was cooked medium rare, and was extremely tasty. it was served with a side of grilled zucchini and red peppers which i devoured and a huge portion of roasted potatoes which we took home for the next day's breakfast. didn't stick around for desert, but the menu had so many interesting dishes, would have liked to try more. maybe next time we're in town.
