local. i live in beech grove and visit edwards occasionally. its not my favorite place, and i was very suprised to see it onmanvs. food. the atmosphere is great and is always clean. the neighborhood isn't wonderful. the drive-up car hops are always friendly and fast. but the food is only ok. i like the baby tacos, which seem like the same kind we get out of the frozen food section, but the onion rings are thick, greasy, smushy.... maybe some people's style, but i like mine crispy and flavorful. the tenderloin is just a tenderloin, nothing special. and the only thing on the menu i would recommend is the root beer in a frosted mug... its only ok.

went here because of themanversus food episode. good pork tenderloin sandwich; homemade onion rings and root beer was great. actual juke boxes made for a cool atmosphere.

nostalgic restaurant. always wanted to try edwards since seeing it inmanvs food. they're probably famous for their pork tenderloin sandwich, but i wanted the fish instead. it was good, along with their onion rings. the decor was definitely 50s.

man vs food. we drove quite a distance to experience what we seen in themanvs food episode. we ordered 2 tenderloins meals with cole slaw and onion rings.
the tenderloin was very dissapointing as my mouth watered the whole trip anticipating it. it wasn't a bad tenderloin but it was nothing to make the drive we made (70 miles) for. now that being said the onion rings were the best i have ever had. they were very delicious. all in all everything was priced right but it certainly is not worth going out of the way for.
the staff was friendly :-)

just ok. saw edward's onmanvs. food and that they have a great pork tenderloin sandwich.

i was disappointed in the pork tenderloin. it was pretty bland. there are better pork tenderloins in the area (muldoon's, nickle plate). but, the root beer and onion rings were great and would bring me back!

not mug n bun. i have heard people compare this place to the above mentioned place, but there is no comparison.i agree with one of the reviews that it is a blighted area to say the least.actually the little run down hard times barbq joint on the corner has better food than edwards.the tenderloin is good, not great, and no where near the size of the one they showed onmanv food.the fries were dry and the frozen type, and the cole slaw was inedible.

my bf and i where visiting indy for the pacers bulls game and we happened to to see edwards onmanvs food. we where very impressed!! my boyfriend loved the tenderloin sandwich and the cheese burger was awesome! we split an order of onion rings and fries pickles both were awesome! onion rings were crispy and very tasty probably one of the best i have had! the building it self is very cute and has an older diner feel with a jute box and all. the location is not great but the food and atmosphere make up for it! unlike bubs we also saw on mvsf the service was great and friendly! will definitely be returning to edwards diner when back in indy!!! can not say the same for bubs

great root beer!. travelling through indy i stopped in because i had seen it onmanvs. food. my wife and i shared the tenderloin sandwich platter, which came with onion rings and homemade root beer. the sandwich was very good, but i should have asked for more pickles because the vinegar from the pickles added a lot. the onion rings were also very good, and weren't greasy like i read in other people's reviews. but by far the best thing was the root beer in a chilled mug. ice cold with no carbonation made the drink the perfect partner to the meal. would definitely recommend it just for the root beer alone.

a nice local eatery. i am on a mission to eat my way thru urbanspoon. i saw this restaurant onmanvs. food, and thought i'd give it a try. they have homemade rootbeer, delicious hand made onion rings and i got a tenderloin, it was ok. this place is average nothing spectacular but still tasty. the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, very clean. i will go again.

not my cup of tea.. right up front, i admit that i decided to try edwards' drive-in because i saw it onmanvs. food. when i pulled up to the restaurant, i was shocked by the location, which was one of the most depressing places i've ever been to in my 9 years of living in indianapolis. basically, it's located in a neighborhood that has seen better days and overlooks some gigantic silos and an overpass. this was one of the most unique places mvf could find in indy? i'd like to meet the person who does the scouting for that show... anyway, the restaurant building itself didn't look bad, so i tried to overcome my first impression and just enjoy the food. unfortunately, the food was extremely mediocre as well, even the much-ballyhooed tenderloin sandwich and the homemade root beer. my milkshake was fine, in a dairy queen kind of way, but my breaded mushrooms tasted like they'd just come out of the freezer and went straight into a fryer. disappointed, i went home feeling sick from ingesting too much grease. needless to say, i won't be going back.
