a pleasant experience.... i am from portland, oregon and went to visit family in colorado springs. the family and i drove to boulder and had a light "brunch" at dushanbe. i had a cherry scone with devonshire cream (which was delicious)... then i felt it necessary to order another one to take home with me. i also tried the cinnamon roll and a few other pastries, which were all rather tasty. i appreciated that the tea was made correctly - which rarely happens and it was also very good. *i convinced a few members of my family to drive back with me a couple of days later for more scones (we took four home)*

we had not made reservations either time that we went and we were fortunate to get seating within 10 minutes. the staff was accommodating and the atmosphere is extremely pleasant. the building is quaint yet there is a sense of elegance with the tall arches both on the patio and high ceilings, inside dushanbe. there is an invigorating sound of water both outside (from the stream) and inside (from the pool). along with thebeautifulplants and decor - i felt as if i were dining in a familiar garden. if i lived in boulder i would undoubtedly be a weekly patron. :)

abeautifulplace to have tea. so when you first walk in you are in wonderment at all the intricate detail and design that was put into this place. i remember my eyes looking every which way and finally landing on the ceiling which hadbeautifulcarving work. i thought there definitely was alot of hard work put into this place. come to find out it came with an amazing background. it was completely built by hand without the use of power tools, and constructed in dushanbe, tajikistan. it was then disassembled, crated up, and sent halfway around the world to be rebuilt in boulder! it was a gift to boulder their sister city. i think that is pretty amazing! my husband and i came for breakfast and i ordered the classic eggs hashbrowns, toast. and he ordered eggs benedict. i also ordered some white tea. i must say with such beauty i was expectingbeautifuldelicious food as well but left feeling that the food was just fair and my husband felt the same way. but that is okay because i would come back to have tea there. it is toobeautifulof a place to pass up. and they also have a relaxing outside eating area as well. afternoon tea should be had here!

why come here?beautifulcraftsmanship, great selection of teas, good food and where else will you see a tajik tea house in the us? the main draw is the fact this structure was crafted in dushanbe, tajikstan and shipped to boulder. it's abeautifulbuilding: colorful, set in a park with a water fountain in the center. the tea list is great and includes a detailed description of each tea. regardless of whether you want to eat here, it's worth making a stop for tea just to see it. if you do decide to eat, however, the food is an interesting mix of the middle east and central asia and actually quite good. persian chickpea kufteh ** - like a plate of meatballs, except they're made with chickpeas. the sauce is reminiscent of a marinara sauce, but a little sweeter. you get a lot of balls so i'd recommend sharing this one. tajikstan plov **(beef over rice w/ veggies) - lots of flavor from the spices and veggies in the rice. the grilled beef has a good char flavor which makes it very tasty, if
