a pleasant experience.... i am from portland, oregon and went to visit family in colorado springs. the family and i drove to boulder and had a light "brunch" at dushanbe. i had a cherry scone with devonshire cream (which was delicious)... then i felt it necessary to order another one to take home with me. i also tried the cinnamon roll and a few other pastries, which were all rather tasty. i appreciated that the tea was made correctly - which rarely happens and it was also very good. *i convinced a few members of my family to drive back with me a couple of days later for more scones (we took four home)*

we had not made reservations either time that we went and we were fortunate to get seating within 10 minutes. the staff was accommodating and the atmosphere is extremely pleasant. the building is quaint yet there is a sense of elegance with the tall arches both on the patio and high ceilings, inside dushanbe. there is an invigorating sound of water both outside (from the stream) and inside (from the pool). along with the beautiful plants and decor - i felt as if i were dining in a familiar garden. if i lived in boulder i would undoubtedly be a weekly patron. :)

fairy glamour?. i don't know if the atmosphere of the tea house blinds me to any faults it might have...it always ranks in my mind as being a place i want to go to, despite the long waits, and slightly overpriced food, (for portion size)
one just can't help but feel peaceful there...the smell of the teas, the trailing flora in the summer, the gorgeous decor...it all adds up to the experience of dining at dushanbe. if the food and drink was served in a concrete bunker...well, i don't think there would be anything to critique on urbanspoon.

oh...i will make one caveat for the thin crust pizza (figs, goat cheese, spinach and roasted cherry tomatoes.) that pizza is amazing.

this place is out of the world. the aesthetics and decor of this place is so eclectic and at the same time - so wonderful. menu has so many choices that would make you wonder what to order and what not.
but as the name suggests, tea is a must if you are here !!! and so is the samousa.
wonderful wonderful place in beautiful serene boulder.

i went to the boulder dushanbe teahouse with a boulder native friend and i was just floored by the design/interior which apparently had to be shipped in and assembled here!

the tea/coffee menu is quite extravagant and if it is your first time, you could definitely use the help of a server in terms of picking out a good option for you. the server was great about helping us out with suggestions according to our preferences.

this is definitely a great place to hang out with friends for those in depth conversations or even to take out business acquaintances as it is sure to impress anyone!

only tried this place for tea and dessert so my rating is based on that. they have a very wide range of teas available which is great. tried three kinds. two of them were okay and one was good. also, their desserts are average. recommended for some quality time while having tea and might as well be worth it to try their food. colorful and cheerful environment.

4/5 stars. the only downside was the tables where a bit small for all the dishes and the service was kind of slow but fortunately picked up after we ordered our teas and brunch. overall it tasted fresh and delicious plus the building was stunning to sit in.

i love curry dishes and was excited to be in boulder and try different curry dishes.
this was the worst food ever served to me in a restaurant.

should be in 1st. the dushanbe teahouse hits every mark in my book:
-gourmet deliciousness that fills you up while providing the utmost in nutrition
-a fair price
-beautiful setting
-friendly staff
-great bar
-outside patio (w/garden and accompanied by a freaking stream/moat!).

per the menu at the teahouse you really can't go wrong with a single item. i may not have had everything but i've had enough to know that a diner may be bold and try the lot, the magicians in the back know what they're doing and you won't believe how little you pay for what you've had. my personal favorite is the chickpea kufteh and i'm not even a vegetarian, i make it a point to have meat with every meal; but this dish, wow. imagine a big falafel that's a little bit softer, like a meatball (has killer spices) and add spinach with a pomegranate sauce. beyond the food i was also served the best mojito i've ever had! everything here is made better by outstanding staff who put care and consideration into their work.

a little hint about how to enjoy the teahouse to its fullest; go in late spring-early summer when the patio is in bloom and the temperature is just right...unless of course you have allergies, in which case the patio would probably be a nightmare and nobody wants to see you get puffy. speaking of allergies, this place is covered in flowers which means bees so do keep that in mind as they may pay your table a short visit should you sit outside.

the dushanbe teahouse is a must for my out-of-state guests and is always the first in my list for recommended restaurants. second to dushanbe teahouse is fogo de chao, if you love meat and don't mind feeling like a king then fogo de chao is where you want to go. in a close third is cafe brazil with a cozy and colorful atmosphere to accompany some adventurous cuisine.

incredible decor and intimate setting. very nice "date night" restaurant. our waiter also had a massive party to serve on his own so out service experience wasn't the best. he was great but that's likely a sign of inattentive management.

food was delicious and variety is unmatched. we will definitely return, likely on a weeknight.

i have mixed feelings about this place. the tea was great, but the service and food were horrible. we initially ordered scones and were told that they were not made on site and they were out. we next tried for buiscuits and were told that the menu was moving from brunch to a different menu and that all the buiscuits had been thrown away! we settled on desserts and the were horrible. my creme pot/ mousss was the consistency of jello instant pudding and my friend couldn't eat more than two bites of cake. go to enjoy the tea, but stay away from the food!!

not to be missed!. my girlfriend and i found out about this the teahouse from google.com and decided to try it based on others' experiences written online. so, we drove an hour out of our way and are glad that we did. the salad wrap with fries is a great choice for the vegetarian as well as the masala dosa.
