destination restaraunt. this is the bestrestaurantin the region! everything is fresh, homemade, organic, and local. we love their "reconstructed potatoes" as a side, salmon burger, and lasagna for main dish. above all, stop in on a thursday, or whenever they are doing the turkey dinner as a daily special..it will put your grandma's thanksgiving dinner to shame!!!! do save room for pie, it is amazing. great friendly staff too. you will come back again and again...we eat multiple meals here when visiting the duluth area.

update:  thisrestaurantis now known as duluth grill, not duluth grill embers.  therestaurantwas taken over and revamped and has since been featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives . embers is a family style chainrestaurantand up in desolate duluth, it was packed with midwest meat and potatoes staple diners sticking with the food of their choice. me, i'm always looking for something different and

arestaurantthat cares. the duluth grill brings together quality ingredients to make some awesome dishes. we just visited again for the second time. we had the loaded mac & cheese - penne, bacon, red peppers, and mushrooms loaded with cheese - i thought it was great, but my wife said it got a little heavy toward the end of the dish. i had the pastie - a flakey shell loaded with meat and vegies. we both agreed it was superb - if you can't decide what to get, try the pastie, and you won't be disappointed. for dessert we tried the banana cream pie. a solid finish to an excellent meal.
in addition to the great food, the service is good, and the duluth grill really cares about the food it serves. if you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and pay the duluth grill a visit.

it is a greatrestaurantfor using organic ingredients, but sometimes can go a little overboard. i went in the spring and ordered a bisepeno burger, which a friend had recommended. the menu describes it as a bison burger with peppers, bbq sauce, and caramelized onions. when the food came, i noticed the bun was soaked from the loads of caramelized onions. not sure if they load everything up with vegetables just because it's an "organic'' restaurant, or it was only a one time thing. i've heard they make great breakfast.

great food, great service, and overall amazing experience!! it has a great familyrestaurantfeel. my husband and i makes sure to go here everytime were in duluth! we usually go for their awesome breakfast that is served all day but from what i hear and the look of their menu, all their food is great!

the duluth grill is the kind ofrestaurantthat serves everything from vegan omelets with gluten free toast to ratatouille to pasties, a northern minnesota favorite brought to the iron range by cornish miners.  if you want to know where the salmon in your salad was smoked or who raised the bison in your burger, it’s listed on the back of the menu.  so before i even got my order, the duluth grill had already endeared itself to me with its focus on local ingredients, the plethora of vegetarian and vegan options, and the fact that they serve breakfast all day.

excellent gluten free menu. i highly recommend thisrestaurantif you're gluten free. the staff did a wonderful job of making sure our order was properly prepared. the food was absolutely delicious.

a cozyrestaurantlocated by the famous smoked salmon shop in canal park. it is a great place to get a drink with friends, with a really great late night menu. below is the mixed olive bruschetta ($5 on late night). it was good and i wished i would have eaten a meal here and had a few cocktails. they have a great beer list as well. next time i am going to try a concotion that was suggested by a server there, crispin cider with a shot of ginger liqueur. you know it is a goodrestaurantwhen the servers stay after their shift to eat a meal and suggest different items because they have eaten it before. lake ave has music as well. check the schedule on their website.

duluth grill more than vegan. though there are vegetarian items available i would not classify therestaurantas vegetarian. they bill themselves as flexitarian, they have a wide choice of non-traditional items such as spicy thai pasta which is exceptional. the beverage prices are too high in comparison to other restaurants in close proximity. food is always fresh and filling. the lasagna here is among the best in the city. i would recommend at least one visit and i think you will be hooked on fine food and a friendly staff with exceptional service.
