update:  this restaurant is now known as duluth grill, not duluthgrillembers.  the restaurant was taken over and revamped and has since been featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives . embers is a family style chain restaurant and up in desolate duluth, it was packed with midwest meat and potatoes staple diners sticking with the food of their choice. me, i'm always looking for something different and

twice is nice, we'll be back. i've been to the duluthgrilltwice and both times we were pleased & impressed! 1st time we were there is was late, close to closing time, we'd had a long stressful day at the hospital and they gladly took us in, never hurried us, were kind, and pleased our bellies! the 2nd time was mother's day; we were nervous about the typical bad, busy service often received on mother's day, but we were pleasantly surprised/pleased! everyone was happy with their orders, service, & price both times.
we will refer it & we will be back!

a restaurant that cares. the duluthgrillbrings together quality ingredients to make some awesome dishes. we just visited again for the second time. we had the loaded mac & cheese - penne, bacon, red peppers, and mushrooms loaded with cheese - i thought it was great, but my wife said it got a little heavy toward the end of the dish. i had the pastie - a flakey shell loaded with meat and vegies. we both agreed it was superb - if you can't decide what to get, try the pastie, and you won't be disappointed. for dessert we tried the banana cream pie. a solid finish to an excellent meal.
in addition to the great food, the service is good, and the duluthgrillreally cares about the food it serves. if you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and pay the duluthgrilla visit.

any local will tell you duluthgrillis the best breakfast in the area and there's a good reason for that. it is. there was a long wait for sunday breakfast on our first visit, but it was worth every second. everything is excellent, plain and simple. real, quality, locally sourced ingredients are crafted with care and delivered by waitstaff who genuinely seem to like their jobs, despite insane busyness.

we can't wait to try the new sister restaurant, omc smokehouse.

the duluthgrillis the kind of restaurant that serves everything from vegan omelets with gluten free toast to ratatouille to pasties, a northern minnesota favorite brought to the iron range by cornish miners.  if you want to know where the salmon in your salad was smoked or who raised the bison in your burger, it’s listed on the back of the menu.  so before i even got my order, the duluthgrillhad already endeared itself to me with its focus on local ingredients, the plethora of vegetarian and vegan options, and the fact that they serve breakfast all day. 

lovely!. i enjoy the duluth grill. they have many wonderful options, but my favorite is there salmon omelette. it sounds so weird but tastes so good! the nice thing about eating at the dg is everything you eat is either made locally, bought locally, and organic as possible. i'm not sure if they still have it, but they had a killer banana bread and chocolate covered dessert. the duluthgrillhas gone to great lengths to become as food and nature friendly as possible. i do believe they have met their goal.

sad :(. i've been a fan of the duluthgrillsince they opened and it's been a destination for each trip up from the twin cities. however, it seems that they have outgrown their space, and instead of making people wait longer at the risk of losing customers, they're cramming as many people in as they can. the food and service has suffered as a result and, sadly, i will have to remove them from my list until they figure things out. the last trip was the final straw, as i spent the entire time trying to avoid people's butts in my face as they squeezed past our table. it was like getting stuck in the back of an airplane. my partner got stabbed with his fork as a waiter bumped by him. and yet, we weren't nearly as miserable as the couple next to us who got seated at the same table as a family with small children. the food is still some of the best in the arrowhead, but it's not as good as it was - my hashbrowns were cold. sigh.

had an awesome dinner and experience at the duluthgrilltonight. we had the bisapeno-pepper burger and dakota dip. both were so good. i was in heaven through my entire burger. we didn't have room for dessert, but a table next to us had an amazing banana split. we will definitely be going back to try more of the menu. very satisfied. our waiter was super nice as well, and really genuinely happy to hear that we loved the food.

don't like. i liked the duluthgrillthe way it used to be. i understand going healthy but they seem to have done away with lots of their old menu items. it would be nice to have a choice. my adult children love the changes, but when we get together to eat, we can't go there.

duluthgrillmore than vegan. though there are vegetarian items available i would not classify the restaurant as vegetarian. they bill themselves as flexitarian, they have a wide choice of non-traditional items such as spicy thai pasta which is exceptional. the beverage prices are too high in comparison to other restaurants in close proximity. food is always fresh and filling. the lasagna here is among the best in the city. i would recommend at least one visit and i think you will be hooked on fine food and a friendly staff with exceptional service.
