dub's a public house

not worth it. absolutely horrific experience. the atmosphere was really fun and inviting, but the bartender and staff were absolutely unwelcoming. my friends and i went in there on a sunday morning and were playing ping pong and my friend accidentally dropped his drink.. a waitress came out and was extremely hostile (to the point of cursing) towards us for dropping the drink. we ended up leaving and went to mcdonough's and had a great time. i will never spend another dollar in dubs again.

do not order the ribs. great atmosphere, very friendly and nice wait staff. but, i ordered the special- the stout bbq ribs. what i got was a hunk of fat and bones. it was extremely difficult to get the 6 small bites of meat off of that i could. so, i ended up paying $11 for mac and cheese and vegetable medley, which made this 7 months pregnant lady literally break down into tears. because of the waitstaff being so nice to us, i decided not to embarrass my husband by complaining. i would go again, but never in a million years would i recommend anyone to get the ribs. you are warned.

terrible service and food was gross! 3 ppl. we ordered 2 burgers and shrimp and grits. we waited over 45 mins ( the restaurant was not that full). the waitress kept saying "soon" after an hour of waiting, we finally said give us the food to go. they then took another 15 mins to " put it in boxes." the grits were in a cardboard box ( with little wholes on the side!!!!). the manager was a jerk, and defensive. they finally comped the meal ( which we didn't even want). when we arrived at home, the grits had seeped through the box sides and when i tasted them they were completely raw. the burgers were chewey and overcooked. the fries were soggy . gross. never going back again.

very poor service. food was poor. had heard good thing but not this time.

i'm a huge believer in the "three strikes and you're out rule", which is why i have only been here that many times. our first encounter was a party of 4 for a uga game. the restaurant was almost full, but didn't seem busy- probably because the entire wait staff hides in the kitchen or converses with friends instead of tending the tables. the food here is good, however for the small menu i would have thought it would be more consistent (i've had the tacos each time i've been and the amount of meat,shrimp, etc has varied. our second trip was for another sporting event when we had a party of 8. the service was slow yet again, but the kicker was the tab at the end. our waiter/tress was handing out the individual tabs and no one was recognizing anything- they had desserts on the bill that no one had ordered, drinks that were never served, etc... on our third and final trip, we had a party of 4. as we sat down, the waitress asked if she could take our drink order. i ordered a draft beer and she simply walked away without taking anyone else's drink order. she came back with my beer and left once again. it took another waitress coming over as she could see our confusion. when she confronted our original waitress, she stated that we were taking "forever" to give our drink order...wow, she didn't even stick around 20 seconds to listen to it. on our fourth trip- oh wait, there hasn't been and will never be a fourth.

dubs - great food on river street. my family and i went to dubs for dinner on a saturday night. the food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed! the jalapeño beer cheese with pretzels was the perfect appetizer, and our party of eight enjoyed a variety of items off the menu. everything was fresh and arrived at our table within a few minutes off each other. the value and quality of the food is better than most on river street and i was truly impressed. my only complaint was that the live band was a little loud, but we were able to sit towards the back of the restaurant and the music was pleasant. i would definitely recommend dubs for a night out downtown!

dubs horrible grub. we have lived in savannah for the past five years, and enjoy trying new restaurants, since dubs is advertised as restaurant for the locals ,we decided to try it. ok, so yesterday was the first and the last time we will eat at dubs. the service was so slow it took at least forty five minutes to get the food. i ordered the steak salad, the steak was raw and cold, with barely any dressing on it. i looked at the salad when it was delivered and told the waitress the steak looked raw. her response was oh no it is cooked properly. well one bite of a piece of cold bloody steak does not appeal to me. the sandwich my husband ordered had a flavor of old grease or cheap oily butter on the bun . yes we ate the food because we were so hungry and waited for such a long time for the food. i pushed the raw bloody meat on my salad to the side of the plate. when the waitress asked how we enjoyed the food we told her the food was really bad. she giggled and brought the check. guess what we do not recommend this restaurant.

great place. cool look inside. great beer selection. try the wings. very tasty with a kick. i'll be back.

food was awesome and patrick was great!

wonderful! their happy hour is unequal and their food was amazing. different from your "savannah norm" it's nice to get a quality sandwich with homemade crisps (chips) instead of seafood galore. my husband and i both had sandwiches. they were so well crafted and absolutely delicious down to the last detail. take the extra walk down river st and go here! so great!

steak and cheese sandwich was super. live music was very good

disappointed to say the least. went to dubs on june 28 with some friends in town for the ymca gymnastics. i have to say that i was quite disappointed with both the service and the food. we had a party of 8 so a variety of items were ordered. first, the service was great at first but then the waitress seemed to forget about us. i was drinking beer and was only ever able to order one. i actually had to go to the bar to order my second. you'd think that our waitress would have realized that we were in a good mood and offered to order us more drinks.

my food, shrimp tacos, came out first with my neice's food, shrimp and grits. my food was simply ok. nothing special. her shrimp and grits were simply awful. the waitress said they were unique and that they were. however, they had absolutely no flavor. i've tried many varieties of shrimp and grits and these weren't even tolerable. the rest of our food took approximately 30 min. to come from the kitchen. i had finished my food for at least 15 min before the last entree emerged from the kitchen. was there any thought of an apology or any acknowledgment of the delay or reason... no. as we polled the rest of our group about their meals we were met with unanimous "it was ok" or "pretty bad" responses. we dropped over $150 at dubs and it was an experience not worth $20.

for the money i would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. while the menu is imaginative, the service and food quality is simply not up to par for the price.

disappointed.

enjoyed my cheddar grits, falcon burger and bacon cupcake. also the woodchuck summer cider was perfect for this hot summer day. nice atmosphere and great service

brave burger is fantastic. the humus with pita chips is great. sean is a great bartender and knows how to make drinks just right. everything is very reasonably priced as well. good, fun atmostphere. would easily recommend dub's pub toto good friends... we will come here on every visit to savannah.

good food, service ok. we chose to eat here based on other reviews and definitely agree that the food is good, but disappointing service. ordered the wings, fries, and side salad - all were delicious. the bartender had the volume up for the mets game and, being in savannah, we wrongly assumed he would mute that game in favor of the braves on the opposite tv. no luck. even when live music started in next room, he did not adjust the volume. weird. also had to request basic items: utensils, ketchup, mayo. i come to savannah fairly often and would give it another chance just b/c most of river st food is generic.
