my husband & i heard about drago's from my niece who has been there several times. we really wanted to try it and were delighted from the time we set foot in the restaurant. we have been back 4or5 times & have never been disappointed in the service or the food. love the the laid back ambiance of the place. the servers that really stood out were monique & dj. but the others were great also. our new favorite place. note: the fried food needs more seasoning.😀
this was about the sixth time we've been to drago's.
tried to write a separate review and website wouldn't allow it. so we got theshrimp& grits & the seafood pasta. terribly disappointed in both. you want creamy grits w/your shrimp. these were "scooped" out and plopped in the middle of a shrim conglomeration! ugh. my seafood pasta hadshrimp& supposedly lump crabmeat in a cream sauce. when i mentioned it to our server chelsea, she absolutely put her head down to the bowl & pointed out a micro piece of something! my husband & i were so upset we didn't even finish our meal & that is totally out of character for us! better step it up or your reputation won't save you!

oysters were outstanding as was my wife's catch of the day entree. i was very disappointed with the seafood pasta due to the use of asianshrimprather than gulf shrimp. why would a restaurant located three hours from the gulf coast and touting their new orleans cuisine use substandard imported shrimp? if you know anything about seafood you can tell the difference immediately. foreignshrimpare translucent and lack the firm texture of our domestic shrimp. c'mon drago's, support our shrimpers on the gulf coast, and serve a superior product that is worth your menu price.

good but too expensive. first visit. we went early - before 5:00. it was busy but we were seated right away. atmosphere ok but i was a bit disappointed. seating for two in small, facing each other table not appealing to me. waiter was friendly but forgot the added fried oysters we ordered with the portabella mushroom salad so the salad was almost eaten by the time they arrived. theshrimpand pasta dish had plenty ofshrimpand good sized. food was too pricey. no extra rolls or butter. nothing special. we were celebrating a birthday. spent $50.00 b4 tip with no cocktails, appetizers or drinks. comparing to other restaurants in jackson, i won't go back.

good but disappointed. on our 2nd visit my wife and i had lunch ($45.00 before tip) with the oyster lunch special andshrimplinguini and one glass of house wine. the linguini pasta was too salted and the fries on the lunch were very few and cold. we had to ask our waiter twice for lemons and crackers for our lunch. on our 1st lunch we had the house special char broiled oysters, special seafood gumbo, and red beans and rice, the charbroiled oysters were dry, over cooked with little sauce, and the seafood gumbo and red beans and rice not special. constructive suggestion to owners and manager: visit other good restaurants in area and compare. the jackson consumer market can not be compared to the new orleans "big easy" market.
