drago's seafood restaurant

very excited about going to drago's! went for lunch and there was no wait time, and food came out quick! their fried oyster poboy is amazing, and my husband loved the red beans and rice. will definitely be goingbackand trying more on the menu!

i had the stuffed lobster. while the lobster was good, the crab stuffing tasted rancid. i alerted the waiter who had the manager come by but the manager never camebackto let me know what he found out.

i had extremely high expectations for this place, mostly because i had always heard how delicious it was. apparently everyone was always referencing other drago's locations because this one was awful. there was something off about everything i ate. at the end of the meal when i was ordering dessert, i asked if they were made in-house. the waiter said, "honestly, nothing here is made in-house, it's cooked at another location and shipped here. i guess they don't want us to have the secret recipes." yea. i had just paid for a really expensive microwaved meal. i was pissed. that was what was off about my food.....it was reheated. the dessert (cheesecake) was delicious....i would gobackfor that. but nothing else. to charge such high prices for horrible, tasteless, mediocre food is a crime. my bill alone was almost $100 (including the tip). i could have had 5 dinners at red lobster and had better food. how sad is that?

my husband & i heard about drago's from my niece who has been there several times. we really wanted to try it and were delighted from the time we set foot in the restaurant. we have beenback4or5 times & have never been disappointed in the service or the food. love the the laidbackambiance of the place. the servers that really stood out were monique & dj. but the others were great also. our new favorite place. note: the fried food needs more seasoning.😀
this was about the sixth time we've been to drago's.
tried to write a separate review and website wouldn't allow it. so we got the shrimp & grits & the seafood pasta. terribly disappointed in both. you want creamy grits w/your shrimp. these were "scooped" out and plopped in the middle of a shrim conglomeration! ugh. my seafood pasta had shrimp & supposedly lump crabmeat in a cream sauce. when i mentioned it to our server chelsea, she absolutely put her head down to the bowl & pointed out a micro piece of something! my husband & i were so upset we didn't even finish our meal & that is totally out of character for us! better step it up or your reputation won't save you!

mixed bag. took in dinner at drago's recently with a group of business associates. there were some real highlights of the dinner and one disappointment.

we began our meal with crabmeat au gratin dip, which was nice. creamy, flavorful and a great start to the meal. we also ordered a couple of dozen char-grilled oysters. they were excellent, could have eaten both dozen myself, in fact they were better than the ones i had a few monthsbackat the drago's in new orleans. both of these offerings were well above average!

i ordered the catch of the day - redfish. i selected andouille crusted preparation. the fish was an excellent filet and it was properly cooked as far as temp and the texture was wonderful. the issue was that someone in the kitchen with crazy with the cajun seasoning prior to the andouille being added and it was almost too salty to eat.

in all i'll gobackbut will be a bit more selective on my main.
