stopped in here on new year's eve and was not disappointed. being a native of new haven ct. it's extremely difficult if not downright impossible to find pizza that's as good as one can find at home. well, this place manages to get it 99 percent right. their menu is short and to the point which is always encouraging to me. if you try to do too many things on a menu the quality typically suffers. i was amused by the offering of salsa, guacamole, and chips which doesn't really marry well with the primarily italian fare but, hey, i'll go with the flow. the salsa and guac were obviously made fresh and very tasty. we ordered the sausage, mushroom, and onion pizza. when it came to our table the simple site of a beautiful pie sitting on a raised platform on the table instantly transported mebackto the apizza parlors i know and love from home. the crust was delicious and perfectly prepared, they must have some really good water in hood river. the toppings were delicious. the sauce could use a little more punch but if that's all they missed the mark on i will definitely be back.
