double mountain brewery and taproom

customer service is poor!! great beer menu!!! but nothing to go out of your way for!!!

we wanted to try a brewery tap house whose beer we couldn't get in colorado. try something new, you know? the place is very large with sever eating areas that make it feel not as large. in any case, despite being busy we were seated immediately.

i usually like ipas so i chose one that seemed like it should be a standard northwestern style ipa. it was okay, but generally lacked body and balance, and, oddly, nose given that it was supposed to be super hoppy. the rye ipa was much better. sweet without being cloying or heavy. most of the beer menu was either ipas or belgians or sours. so as long as you like those styles you'll probably find one you like.

the food was very good. i had a very nice spinach salad with cranberries, nuts, and my favorite: goat cheese. it was a generous serving, even for a small. together my husband and i split a pizza and it was good too.

i'd be willing to try this place again, but i'd want to research the specific beers better first.

i thought i had been here before and wasn't very impressed. well i either was having a bad night, went to the wrong place or they got new owners because my experience was awesome! we got 2 pizzas, one was there specialty with goat cheese and truffles and the other was a pepperoni and salami combo. simply delicious. we also had the caesar and greek salads and both were amazing. the jersey sandwich was awesome as well. the vinaigrette has a little unexpected kick so watch out but it's really good. best meal i've had in hood river.

their truffle shuffle pizza and kolsch (light german ale house brew) turned out to be the best things i had on my trip to oregon. the pizza crust was excellent. no doughy, under-cooked crusts served here! it was a white pie with mozzarella, crumbled goat cheese, spring onion and white-truffle-oil-marinated portobello mushrooms. i added chilli flakes and some oregano and it was the incredible!
we also had the classic margherita pizza which also perfect. although we went nuts on the truffle shuffle here.
the kolsch was a delicious ale but pretty potent, so beware!
and as for the place, i personally loved the vibe. nice crowd, music and an interesting decor. the service was also good. no complains there.

i am definitely going back for the truffle shuffle pizza whenever i'm in portland next.

stopped in here on new year's eve and was not disappointed. being a native of new haven ct. it's extremely difficult if not downright impossible to find pizza that's as good as one can find at home. well, this place manages to get it 99 percent right. their menu is short and to the point which is always encouraging to me. if you try to do too many things on a menu the quality typically suffers. i was amused by the offering of salsa, guacamole, and chips which doesn't really marry well with the primarily italian fare but, hey, i'll go with the flow. the salsa and guac were obviously made fresh and very tasty. we ordered the sausage, mushroom, and onion pizza. when it came to our table the simple site of a beautiful pie sitting on a raised platform on the table instantly transported me back to the apizza parlors i know and love from home. the crust was delicious and perfectly prepared, they must have some really good water in hood river. the toppings were delicious. the sauce could use a little more punch but if that's all they missed the mark on i will definitely be back.

double mountain is a great brewery in hood river. as others have mentioned, the pizza is excellent. pair it with any of their microbrews as you sit back and enjoy the laid back atmosphere. great spot for post-hike or apres-ski, or laid back dinner. we've been coming back to double mountain for years for the beer and pizza and will continue to do so!

amazing pizza... i love to dine here when heirloom tomatoes are in season and they make this seasonal pie. the "truffle shuffle" pie was loaded with portobello mushrooms floating on top of goat cheese and mozzarella. my beer flight was superb. my favorite was una mas, a mexican style lager. this is an absolutely fun place to visit before you start to explore hood river.

we drove to hood river and had lunch at double mountain brewery. it was suggested by our car rental agent. it's a super cute town loaded with wineries and breweries. the pizza was good, but frankly not all that special. we enjoyed a cluster fuck ipa and sacre bleu with our lunch...

ambience poor. absolutely offended by staff conversations loaded with fuc* and shi*. clean it up. your customers should not hear this, no matter how frickin awesome you think you are

the seasonal christmas pizza was soo damn good!!! brewery has the skills to pay the bills. amazing beer, food, service and what a view!

as for the food, pizza is the name of the game. thin crust with a brick-lined oven baking between 650 and 700 degrees, just as a good pizza oven should. unfortunately, their pizzas also are huge and i didn’t want to take any home with me. so instead, i went with one of the few sandwich selections on the menu – a meatball sub.

atmosphere is much like a coffee shop. all the skiers and snowboarders gather at the end of the day. pricing is about $15 – $17 for a pizza. the crust is super thin and 1 pizza feeds about 2 people. this is obviously a brewery so the beer is a flowing and people are taking it to go as well.
service is not the best. just be willing to get up and ask for what you need.

i don't like beer and i loved the beer here! i think i had the vaporizer .. we had the mushroom, onion and sausage pizza as well as salsa and guacamole and it was all top notch. highly recommend !!

best beer and pizza in hood river. this place is a favorite for two simple reasons: 1) beer. 2) pizza. their pizza is the best in the area. the buffy is a sweet and spicy delight. their seasonal pizzas are usually a great option, as well. they have a number of non-pizza options on their menu, too. as for beer, it just doesn't get better than double mountain. i simply can't express enough love for their ira. tread softly, though. their beers pack a punch, with hops galore and high alcohol content. this place got by with just a small taproom for a few years, but have recently expanded, which means more beer, more pizza, and more fun for everyone!
