donut hole bakery cafe

my parents and i decided to check out the donut hole in destin for dessert. we had driven past the resteraunt many times, and noticed how crowded it was, taking it as a sign that this must be a greatplaceto eat. although everything we ordered lived up to our expectations and was definitely delicious, the service was pretty awful. we asked for a dessert menu and was rudely told by our waitress that there wasn't one, which was fine, but she acted like that was common knowledge although there was nothing that would alert you to this fact. there were also no signs letting you know what each cake and pie was, and when we asked, our questions were met with an attitude that let us know we must be inconveniencing our waitress to put a little effort behind her job. food was great, coffee was great, but was definitely let down by the service at this cafe in destin.

over hyped over priced. love their key lime donuts which we buy by the dozen when we are in destin. always wanted to try their breakfasts but long wait lines whenever we were there discouraged us. finally the stars converged and we were there for breakfast, which turned out to be a disappointing experience. it started badly when we had a long wait for a server after we were seated. theplacewas not that busy. coffee came quickly but not the water and our waitress disappeared until she brought out our orders some time later. my wife had the crabmeat omelet and i had the corned beef hash. the omelet was ok although a little short of crabmeat compared to some others i had eaten in destin. the hash was a disaster, it came to the table completely cold, hash, eggs and toast. it was as if it had been sitting under an ac vent for a while. had to send it back and when they brought it back to the table they had simply warmed it up in a microwave. i'll still get their donuts but nothing more

oh my goodness!!!! we love the donut hole! it is our tradition to go the last day of our trip for a happy ending! i got the combo meal of the day of pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, and 2 eggs. soooooo good. and the hubs got the western omelet. of course we got our dozen donuts too! this is the most wonderfulplaceto eat. super nice and the food is awesome. no problem with check out. oh, if it is just 2 of you , you can go ahead and sit at the bar area and eat.

we did not get doughnuts and breakfast was just ok. our service was just a little slow. the long line to get in went quickly. took forever to settle the check. next time will skip breakfast and flee theplacewith doughnuts. don't waste your time if u just want breakfast.

thisplaceis a must! if you are near any of their locations, you absolutely have to stop! don't be discouraged if you arrive during a time when there is a massive line, that line is there for a reason! i promise the wait will be worth it. i have been known to eat breakfast and lunch with these lovely people when i am in town. you can't go wrong with any selection on their menu!

maybe i built thisplaceup too much in my head due to the reviews i had read, but i was upset that i had wasted my family's time dining here. the service was extremely slow and the food was disappointing. if i ever go here again, i will only go for donuts for the kids and skip the other options.

just like the other one, expect a line during peak times. i thought the food good, but not quite as good as the other place, but our waitress, gloria, was wonderful! if you just want donuts to go, you can just walk in to the designated register toplaceyour order.

always a great breakfast. i am a local and for as long as i can remember i have been going to the donut hole when wanting to grab a yummy breakfast out. i have tried new places for different experiences but always come back to the donut hole and it is definitely a family favorite. everyone is friendly and the food is always hot and fresh. during really any season, specially on weekends, there can be an hour wait or more - being local i just go when it isn't as busy. even on days where i decided i was willing to wait it is never really that long, they have quick service so you are never waiting long for your meal. the food is always great, from the side of grits or sausage to the monster "diet plate" it is amazing. everyone in my family has their favorites when we go. i work in the tourist industry and recommend thisplaceto people all the time.

great breakfast. we stayed in pcb for 4 days and ate here twice! the omlet, eggs benedict, and hash were a family fave! if you have a sweet tooth the waffle and french toast are to die for! i highly recommend checking thisplaceout when you are in the area!!

breakfast. this is a greatplacefor breakfast. i had the shrimp & crab omelet which was fantastic. my family had various breakfast dishes which were very well done. this quickly became my family's go to place. prices are great considering the portions are huge.

so this is one of those touristy spots that locals enjoy too! i have only eaten breakfast there but they lunch as well. on sat morning you can expect a line (all the tourist going home) as well as a line on sun morning (church!). but the lines move fairly quick! i love their bacon with a "short" stack while dub hub likes their country ham. and then there are the donuts...and pastries and cakes and pies! if you see something you like get asap because the bakery is as busy as the cafe. and to avoid the wait, keep an eye for counter seats! and since it is a busyplaceit can take a bit for your food. and the restrooms are a little small for those of us not so young and skinny anymore!

pitiful!. all i could think as my breakfast wasplacein front of me was "are you kidding me?" two eggs, grits and a biscuit. i didn't know you could find a chicken egg as small as those i was served. i asked for the eggs up easy and the edges were black crisp. the small bowl of grits was about four spoonfuls. the one biscuit i was served i will say, was light and delicious. try giving me two huh? add a piece of pie, double the order and you have a $28 bill plus tip.
never again. i'm a naw'lins boy and these people are simply making money off touristas in the destin area that don't know anything about giving people a meal. they gotta eat somewhere eh? go get a breakfast at whataburger. cheaper and you'll get more.

kids out of school. i had both kids with me for an early appointment, and breakfast was their reward. the kids had the western and mexican omlettes, i had the pimento omlette with cheese grits and biscuits. my omlette was unusual and enjoyable ... once! the biscuit was a bit cakey, but okay with butter and peach jam. my grits were runny and came with a soup spoon.

every self respecting southerner knows you eat grits with a fork!

we had a good time, the service was outstanding and the food a solid "b". our basic meal for the 3 of us, with tip, was well over $40.00. i think thats a bit high for a basic breakfast with milk. out of towners will love thisplaceand wont mind the prices.

nothing special. everyone in our party ordered breakfast dishes from the menu, and we all agreed that the meals were just average. maybe the bakery items are what keeps thisplaceopen.
