donut hole bakery cafe

my parents and i decided to check out thedonuthole in destin for dessert. we had driven past the resteraunt many times, and noticed how crowded it was, taking it as a sign that this must be a great place to eat. although everything we ordered lived up to our expectations and was definitely delicious, the service was pretty awful. we asked for a dessert menu and was rudely told by our waitress that there wasn't one, which was fine, but she acted like that was common knowledge although there was nothing that would alert you to this fact. there were also no signs letting you know what each cake and pie was, and when we asked, our questions were met with an attitude that let us know we must be inconveniencing our waitress to put a little effort behind her job. food was great, coffee was great, but was definitely let down by the service at this cafe in destin.

great breakfast. ate a late breakfast here late on a sunday morning. the line was out the door to get in, but we only had to wait about 20 minutes. no problem - we ordereddonutholes to eat while we waited in line! the actual breakfast was outstanding. eggs and omelets were perfect, bacon was three large, thick cut slices, and the bread seemed like it was home made. i had cinnamon raisin toast that i'd highly recommend. the portions were very large and the servers were very fast. after we finished, my wife and i could not come up with one thing that we thought could have been better. well, the prices might be a little high, but it's south walton. we can't wait to go back!!!

oh my goodness!!!! we love thedonuthole! it is our tradition to go the last day of our trip for a happy ending! i got the combo meal of the day of pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, and 2 eggs. soooooo good. and the hubs got the western omelet. of course we got our dozen donuts too! this is the most wonderful place to eat. super nice and the food is awesome. no problem with check out. oh, if it is just 2 of you , you can go ahead and sit at the bar area and eat.

i love thedonuthole food. the service was pretty bad the other day and so so every other time we have been there. the service was so bad, we were ignored that we got up and left before ordering after sitting for 10 minutes and no service. it really stinks because i like their food.donuthole is on probation with our family for the next few months, maybe they can hire some decent staff.

the eggs benedict was delicious!!!! i give it a 4 out of 5 which is good on my scale for breakfast food. the donuts were a 5 out of 5 for sure!!! it was a long wait so don't go when your super hungry. or buy adonutwhile you wait in line:).

always a great breakfast. i am a local and for as long as i can remember i have been going to thedonuthole when wanting to grab a yummy breakfast out. i have tried new places for different experiences but always come back to thedonuthole and it is definitely a family favorite. everyone is friendly and the food is always hot and fresh. during really any season, specially on weekends, there can be an hour wait or more - being local i just go when it isn't as busy. even on days where i decided i was willing to wait it is never really that long, they have quick service so you are never waiting long for your meal. the food is always great, from the side of grits or sausage to the monster "diet plate" it is amazing. everyone in my family has their favorites when we go. i work in the tourist industry and recommend this place to people all the time.

we have visited this restaurant several times for breakfast over the past few years on our trips to destin. on the weekends when we have visited, it has always had a good wait, but today, thursday around 9:00a, we were seated immediately with extremely friendly service. the food has always been excellent. amazing biscuits and donuts. thedonuthole gets two thumbs up from our family.

dinner served. my family went there for dinner since hubby was hungry for breakfast foods after eating lots of chicken and steak for previous dinners. at 6p, there was enough seating and a lot of parking. you can sit yourself. food came quickly. hubby had the 3 stack of pancakes and eggs which was more than enough. a pancake is the size of an adult head. he was able to take the leftover food home and have it for breakfast. i had the egg salad sandwich with fries. yummy but messy as the bread was nice and toasted but the sandwich became soggy and the contents (including sliced tomato) disintegrated the bread. maybe a thicker slice (texas toast) or buns would be better. my son had his usual cheeseburger. the burger was huge for a kids meal. for dessert i had to try, but took home, a slice of key lime pie. it was creamy and delicious. a whole pie is $15. we passed by thedonuthole in the morning and, of course, there was a packed house as people were waiting on the patio.

best donuts ever!!!!. thedonuthole in santa rosa beach have great severers and it seems like as soon as you sit down to eat the food is ready to eat! the bathrooms are very clean compared to most public bathrooms! you should see for your self

i love this place!! thedonutselection is very unique, and there are always lots to choose from. they go fast, so you have to be there before the crowd hits. their breakfast menu is also fantastic. the grits are great, the gravy is amazing, and everything else is just wonderful. the servers are always cheery, too.

tried and true. we have been coming to miramar beach for 30 years and absolutely love thedonuthole. the donuts are fantastic. they sell out early if it is high season and definitely the favorites are gone by 10 am. if we do breakfast we come early if we don't want to wait. 10 am is peak time and if you are hungry and cranky, you might be happier elsewhere. they are a local favorite. they don't put up with attitude and they are a get 'em fed and get 'me out mentality. we eat there at least 5 times during our ten day stay. best items: bacon, monster omelette, hash browns, oj, pancakes.

best meal yet in destin! pimento cheese omelette was awesome and i only knew about it to order from urbanspoon, so thanks!! red velvetdonutis a great treat! my husband liked everything as well!

the seafood omelettes were not special. if it were called omelette hole, it'd be really disappointing. could be omelettes just aren't their thing, but i'll skip it until i need adonutfor breakfast.

not for me. i went to thedonuthole today after passing it several times on my current trip in santa rosa beach.. i read the reviews and it sounded great.

now im not one to usually complain about having to wait to sit, but they didn't have any type of hostess or sitting method and it took my bf and i 30-40 min to be seated. our waitress was prompt with the drinks at first but never brought our waters and never came back for refills. after we got our food (minus a couple things) we didn't see her again. i had to flag down another waitress to get ours so that we could get our ticket. then they had charged us for the items we never got, but thankfully took them off when confronted.

my suggestion is to go down 30a to a place called stinky's for breakfast, much better service, much better food.
