bikers beware. while i miss the days when the locals fought the opening ofdogfishbecause it was considered far worse than the bikers that inhabited the bar before. sam and his friends continue to produce the best beer in delaware, even if they don't make it one keg at a time anymore. the mixed menu of burgers, pizza etc are not original but well made and flavorful. an apt accompaniment to the great beer.

if you're visiting rehoboth you must trydogfishhead.

poor service/food. just returned from a fantastic getaway in lewes/rehoboth, de. my girlfriend and i started the trip off with a tour of thedogfishhead brewery, followed by two nights at the newdogfishinn. we saved the brewhouse in rehoboth for our last night. this was an extremely poor choice. a place that is deemed the "soul of the company" by sam the owner, could not have been further from the truth. it started off with a lousy server. having ordered a sample of their distilled liquors, as well as a mixed drink, two ice waters, and a diet cola, we failed to receive our ice waters...that we asked our server for twice of a span of twenty minutes. (that long, because we only saw her twice in that whole time).
now, i know, that place gets pretty busy, however, this was late in the evening, on a tuesday night and there were a handful of empty tables, and no waiting customers. we finally had to grab a busser and ask that kind woman for ice water. eventually, ice water was delivered right at the time our main course was delivered (we already had our appetizers).

we both ordered burgers and our fries were luke-warm, half soggy, half hard as a rock, one was completely raw! really? how does that happen? at this point, there was no way we were complaining, as the server never came back to check-in. my girlfriend wanted a refill of her water and diet cola, which were left on the very edge of the table, begging to be refilled, yet the server ran past numerous times to return to other tables and never once stopped and asked how the food was or asked if we wanted drink refills. it was a real shame, as i was anticipating buying a lot of drinks that evening, yet, never went further than the liquor sampler and the mixed drink.

extremely dissatisfied with the whole experience, what a shame. will not be back to visit the placedogfishall started. i would warn others to think twice before visiting as well.

great experience. if you are anywhere in the area, make the effort and grab dinner or at least a drink here. i went for dinner and everything was excellent, from the food, to the service to the great beers. they had the usual fantasticdogfishdrafts available but also had a great selection of special seasonal and other beers that i haven't found available in my area. my only advice is to take a growler or two with you. i made the mistake ( i read a blog somewhere) that said their growler prices are high. this couldn't have been further from the truth. there is a cool, small gift shop set up outside which also fills growls from anywhere from $8- to around $12. i wish i would have know the prices were so reasonable, i would have brought a few empties with me. also grabbed a bottle of their jin. great experience.

positive experience. my boyfriend and i are hugedogfishhead beer fans and planned to do a brewery tour/ beach day on our way traveling from dc to nyc. the tour was awesome and we then planned to eat at the actual restaurant afterwards. there was no wait to sit outside and it was a beautiful day so we opted for that. loved the garden like atmosphere. we each did a sampler platter of the beer- my favorite being the midas touch. we split the lamb sliders and the short rib fries. the goat cheese tzatziki on the sliders was delicious and the lamb seasoned with cumin was cooked nicely. there were three to an order. the short rib fries had a white cheddar ale sauce on them and it was a heaping portion with lots of meat, which was very good. several of the desserts sounded delicious but we were too full. out service was quick and efficient with no issues. id highly recommend visiting if in the rehoboth beach area and enjoy craft brew

been eating @dogfishmany times over the last 5 years of living locally. food was good 3 years ago, but has gone down hill since. beers are always interesting, but have taken on a fruity, flowery flair, which is not my favorites by far. i still enjoy their 90 minute, when they have a good batch (2011's wasn't near a winner). now that sam owns the finbar location next door, i wonder what he has in mind for the space. . .another or expanded restaurant? better do some serious kitchen chief searching!!

restaurant week 2013. restaurant week is, in theory, a chance for restaurants to bring in customers to try what the place has (at a bargain price) and, hopefully, get them to return again, and often.dogfishblew it last night. my pork confit sandwich tasted burnt. my partner's app, a big bowl of chowder, arrived on the cold side... and my app, chicken wings, didn't arrive for another twelve minutes, by which time the partner had already finished his first course. and the wings were cold! our server, who should have known something was going wrong, could have come over earlier with either an explanation or an apology, which would have smoothed the ruffled feathers, but was clueless and disinterested when i pointed out the timing problem. this was followed by another overly long wait between when i finished the wings (which were mediocre) and the arrival of our entrees (so my partner had a double wait after his chowder). the joint was only half-filled, the kitchen shouldn't have been that badly in the weeds! clearly, there are training issues with both the front and back of the house that need to be addressed. if sam calagione thinks this is the way to promote his name and his beers, he is mistaken. we will be walking right on by... often.

great food, brews, & atmosphere!. let me start off by saying that this restaurant is awesome!
my friends and i were vacationing in rehoboth around easter last year and decided to make a stop at the "famous"dogfishhead brew pub. with the great beer and a rockin' band, we ended up staying for over 7 hours. yes, you read right...7 hours!! the service was phenomenal-she kept the drinks coming and didn't pressure us to order food or more beer. we ended up ordering appetizers as the night went on (along with many pints and martinis with their house-made vodka...yum!). the apps were good and the butternut squash soup was great. i can't comment for my friends but they seemed pretty happy with their burgers and pizzas as well.
overall that night was a great success and one that will live on as one of the best nights ever! we are planning a trip back this year. can't wait!!

this is where it all began! this is the mecca for all truedogfishhead believers. noisy, raucous, family friendly. the food is good but quality not quite what is was in years past.

if you like the flavor profiles ofdogfishhead beers, you will probably enjoy their food, too. the mash byproducts from their brewing process are sold as feed to local farmers, who in turn produce the beef for their burgers.

the pizza was okay. i had the alpine idyll with goat cheese, mushrooms, arugula, prosciutto, and balsamico, and it was fine, but i wasn't expecting the crust to be more tortilla-like than bready. the antelope sliders are not to be missed, though, and the chicory stout bacon chocolate cheesecake is definitely worth a try.

good place to socialize...not eat. we went todogfishhead for a meal and a few rounds. the beer, naturally, was good. the appetizer, the dog pile was artichoke-spinach dip and melted mozzarella cheese covering very oily pita wedges. we ordered hamburgers which were overpriced and undercooked....sent them back and the new ones came back undercooked again. the fries were greasy. overall, not very healthy or good tasting food but a good place to go for beer.

below average food quality. peak season service was also lacking. order your favoritedogfishhead beer at a proper restaurant. there is no need to suffer through this in a town with many dining options.

since opening in 1995,dogfishhead brewings & eats has been one of the anchors of rehoboth’s casual dining scene. maybe “dining” is not the right word, as dfhb&e is first and foremost a brewpub. the food is hearty, straightforward and honest, served in m
