dum dum house!. a coworker and myself ate lunch at this poor excuse for a restaurant today at lunch and neither of us will ever gobackto this place again. where shall i begin.

first, the place was not very crowed we sat down was asked what we would like to drink and shoved 1 menu to our table. my coworker asked for a straw which she received twenty minutes later. during this time we had time to look over every aspect of the menu as we watched the 1 waitress run around to the tables of the patrons who were there before after about half an hour she would take our order. during this time we happen to notice the spelling soy sauce on the menu is spelled soy source .

finally after our long wait the waitress takes our order, my co-worker orders a chicken dish and i ordered as the waitress quickly rushed off to get our order in. ten minutes pass and she brings out our soup and salad roll, which were part of our meal. this was the best part of the experience mind you. half way through consuming this the waitress comesbackout and looks at my coworker and says "so sorry, we are out of chicken." i was just amazed an hour into us ordering and this waitress came out and told my coworker something she had ordered she couldn't have, what a joke of a restaurant.

if you want poor service, but good water visit the dum dum house and learn how not to spell sauce.

best dimsum (and chinese) in raleigh area. just gotbackfrom eating an amazing dinner at dim sum house!

i am a chinese-american who grew up in california eating authentic chinese food.

we moved to the raleigh area 5 years ago and have since then only found 2 authentic chinese restaurants: 1.) 35 restaurant in cary and 2.) grand asia market food deli area in cary/ raleigh.

all that changed today upon our exquisite meal at dim sum house, which has instantly vaulted to the #1 spot in our selective charts.

we had a mix of dim sum and entrees, and everything was good. the menu is broad and includes some more exotic cuisine as well (ie - beef tendons/ ofals, etc.). we ordered several dishes that clearly take significant preparation to make (ie - braised beef, congee, etc.)

while not fancy/ posh, the decor/ location was clean and welcoming.

service was also very friendly (to us and our kids).

overall, our best chinese food experience in nc

great find. my husband, mother, and i ate there this evening and were really impressed. the menu appears to be less americanized - you can order things like chicken feet if you so desire - but i think that speaks to the authenticity of it all. (though i may not exactly know authenticity in dim sum anyway.) bottom line: we were all pleased with the food and surprised at how inexpensive it was for how much variety we had experienced, and we will gobackwithout a doubt.
