first time here. good bbq, interesting beer selections, friendly staff. reasonable prices. i recommend it. i had the burnt endssandwichspecial and hubby had ribs. he is fussy about his bbq and enjoyed it. homemade desserts looked great, but too full to try.

when staying in daytona, it is a given that we will travel a few exits north on i-95 to ormond beach and visit the pig stand for some 'cue. we spent the night over on the beach and decided that lunch had to be pig stand before we returned home. chef was nursing a sore mouth, so he just went with macs and cheese, and when gameteen heard that, he got them, too. meanwhile, i went for the burnt end sandwich, a nice pork bbq that is served naked with slaw on top and a choice of side. barbeque sauces are on the table, and i opted for a blend of the mustard and hot. yum. the slaw is a little on the sweeter side, but is crunchy and fresh, in case you prefer tangy slaw. i will probably skip the corn next time. it seems like frozen ears and no amount of butter, salt and pepper could give it flavor. they make really good, savory beans-i'll go with those next time. ed got the fat boy with beans. thissandwichcomes with lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese and a creamy dressing. ed was smart, getting

from good to gross. i have been a regular at the pig stand for years. good bbq and the best fries in town. went there just before bike week with my wife. they changed the fries to these greasy limp seasoned fries. my ribs tasted like old ribs that had been reheated, then reheated again. my wife could only force down half hersandwichand we both left full serving of the fries on the plate. every place has a bad day so i went back tonight. still have the crappy fries, so i figured i'd get the onion rings with my chopped pork sandwich. they served me a clump of onion rings that tasted like wet flour. okay, i can live without the side, i'll just eat my sandwich. first bite was nothing but a glob of fat, second one the same. opened up thesandwichto reveal about 2/3 fat and 1/3 pink pork. this was disgusting. i left without eating any more and i am no longer a regular.

they don't trim the layer of fat off the pork shoulder before they chop it so you get huge chunks of fat in every bite of your sandwich. chicken is hit and miss-sometimes great sometimes over cooked and dry. it's a shame they don't take pride in the food.
