daytona pig stand

my sister was in town and we had heard about the barbeque and wanted to try it. i was extremely disappointed.  we arrived at around 2:30 for lunch, we both ordered the 1/4 chicken and thefrieswith a side of beans. when the food came thefrieswere so salty they could not be eaten. and the chicken was cold. the beans smelled great but they tasted like they were cooked last week.   i an very disappointed. i would say that if you are planning a visit ask for salt freefriesand when ordering the chicken and beans make sure they are actually cooked

no one listens to what you say. ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches on a bun withfriesand cole slaw. i get pork on fried bread
..burnt. over done fries. cole slaw and no fork or napkins. now come on...bbq with no napkins in a car and no fork for cole slaw. not nice girls..wake up!

from good to gross. i have been a regular at the pig stand for years. good bbq and the bestfriesin town. went there just before bike week with my wife. they changed thefriesto these greasy limp seasoned fries. my ribs tasted like old ribs that had been reheated, then reheated again. my wife could only force down half her sandwich and we both left full serving of thefrieson the plate. every place has a bad day so i went back tonight. still have the crappy fries, so i figured i'd get the onion rings with my chopped pork sandwich. they served me a clump of onion rings that tasted like wet flour. okay, i can live without the side, i'll just eat my sandwich. first bite was nothing but a glob of fat, second one the same. opened up the sandwich to reveal about 2/3 fat and 1/3 pink pork. this was disgusting. i left without eating any more and i am no longer a regular.

they don't trim the layer of fat off the pork shoulder before they chop it so you get huge chunks of fat in every bite of your sandwich. chicken is hit and miss-sometimes great sometimes over cooked and dry. it's a shame they don't take pride in the food.

outstanding bbq on our june visit of 2012. we were heading west on i-4 and spotted this place and decided to give it a try.

we were very impressed with the quality of the bbq, the sauces, the sides, and especially the service. the waitresses were all friendly and helpful, came back several times to check on us (we ate outside).

we both had pulled pork sandwiches (mine was on garlic bread), she had cole slaw, i had fries... thefriestasted fresh cut and were cooked perfectly and the cole slaw was tasty (and not smothered in vinegar like other places sometimes do).

nothing was heavily seasoned, so we added a tiny bit of salt-n-pepper to taste.
