they have my loyalty for life.. i went to this place last friday night; the theme of the week was colombia and the plate of food did not disappoint. there were arepas (fried doughballs, which are much more amazing than they sound), plantains better than i've ever had, pork, chicken, a bean stew, some homemade cheese, and other stuff i can't remember. on fridays, you just get the prepared specialty of the day. she is doing a different country every friday for the duration of the summer. for example tomorrow night the dish is paella, country is spain.
oh my goodness the food!! it was to die for. i lived in honduras a summer and i can say this is the first place i've had in the u.s. that remotely resembled what i ate in central america.
the lady who owns it is so adorable you just want to hug her and call her "abuela" (grandma) by the time you're done eating. she answered all my questions about the food thoroughly. when we had a hard time deciding between the 2 desserts (flan, and a banana thing), she ended up bringing us both even though we only ordered and paid for one!
everything is delicious, theowneris incredibly knowledgeable and has trained in the kitchens of many international locations. she knows what she's doing, and the food is fabulous.
the only con was i got sort of hot while eating in there - there were fans but no a/c. she said she'd rather spend her money on buying good food ingredients than running an ineffecient a/c. can't argue with that logic!!
