this quaint restaurant is a rare find. thefoodis wonderful. if you want authenticfoodfrom south american, then this is the place for you. the pictures are what you can expect! they also do a meal of the week from a different country every friday. the service is the best we've experienced in town.

i’m going to be honest, i thought thefoodwas good but not as amazing as people have made it to be. i was honestly expecting thefoodto be mind-blowing, but i was disappointed.

i ordered the paella (highly recommended in many reviews) - clams, mussels, chicken, whole shrimp, rice and veggies. the seasoning was pretty good, but the seafood was a bit over cooked, which gave the impression that thefoodwas just reheated and dry.

the salad appetizer was really sweet, which i didn’t realize they were going for until i found a piece of fruit (mango, i think). the portions were a little smaller than i expected, especially for the price ($26 without tip).

other than those complaints, the owners were sweet and the atmosphere was nice. i probably won’t go back, but it’s at least worth a try (3.5 overall rating)

i was in montgomery for business and a local colleague of mine suggested this place.  thefoodand service were awesome.  the owner was very sweet and gracious.  please come open one in biloxi, ms!!!!

thefoodhere is cooked by a little venezuelan grandmother. it's always good and she is very generous with portions. we love going here. it's small but wonderful.

this is my "go to" restaurant!foodis amazing! service is amazing! meals are always flavorful and prepared using high quality ingredients and prepared in a healthy way. the owner janet is lively and makes all customers feel like appreciated guests. i feel like i'm at home being fed by my mom when i come here! love this place!!

delicious. i recommend this restaurant because it offers deliciousfoodand it is very hospitable. janet the owner makes you feel like you are home. she is such a nice lady. it is a small place, but thefoodis excellent and very healthy.

awesome food. after hearing about d'road cafe for some time, i finally took the plunge. we went this past friday and found out fridays are "international night," where the owner cooks cuisine from a particular country. the night we went was indian. having lived in new york for a number of years, i've experienced the cuisine so we were excited. thefoodwas awesome: curried lamb, tandoori chicken, samosas to die for...all the fixings. can't wait to go back and eat again. the owner is super nice and friendly...it's like you stopped her house and she sat you down in the kitchen for a home cooked meal.

what a surprise!. i'm not saying there's nothing good to eat in montgomery. as a traveler i was wondering what i'd run into. boy was i ever surprised with this place. not only is thefoodtremendous but i'd keep coming back just for the service. yanet is an incredible hostess. i was smitten by her charm.

take the time and check out this place. you will not be disappointed!

they have my loyalty for life.. i went to this place last friday night; the theme of the week was colombia and the plate offooddid not disappoint. there were arepas (fried doughballs, which are much more amazing than they sound), plantains better than i've ever had, pork, chicken, a bean stew, some homemade cheese, and other stuff i can't remember. on fridays, you just get the prepared specialty of the day. she is doing a different country every friday for the duration of the summer. for example tomorrow night the dish is paella, country is spain.
oh my goodness the food!! it was to die for. i lived in honduras a summer and i can say this is the first place i've had in the u.s. that remotely resembled what i ate in central america.
the lady who owns it is so adorable you just want to hug her and call her "abuela" (grandma) by the time you're done eating. she answered all my questions about thefoodthoroughly. when we had a hard time deciding between the 2 desserts (flan, and a banana thing), she ended up bringing us both even though we only ordered and paid for one!
everything is delicious, the owner is incredibly knowledgeable and has trained in the kitchens of many international locations. she knows what she's doing, and thefoodis fabulous.
the only con was i got sort of hot while eating in there - there were fans but no a/c. she said she'd rather spend her money on buying goodfoodingredients than running an ineffecient a/c. can't argue with that logic!!

three words: friendly, fresh and delicious!!. janet! thank you for being wonderful hostess and cook!! we were four students from the 2013 air war college at maxwell afb who found your cafe thru urbanspoon *with a 95% rating. we thoroughly enjoyed "the two men on a horse," the cuban sandwich and the beef tongue stew all with fresh ingredients and home-cooked awesomeness!!! we are foodies and we know goodfoodwhen we see it! don't the the 5% comments keep you away from trying this place!! we will be back!!

lunch... who knows how long it sits there. i was meeting a friend here the other day. based on all the reviews, i was so excited. my friend was late, so i sat in the parking lot for about 30 minutes. not one person enterd nor exitted the store. i automaticall became weary of the meat and vegetable offerings, because they had obviously sat untouched, for so long. finally a lady walked in... and i entered behind her to check it out. she had pre-ordered somefoodthat was brought to her from the back. i was shown a menu... but told i could only have what was in her steam tray. um... no thank you. first, it didn't look like anything i couldn't have steamed in my steamer. second, i knew it had been sitting untouched for a very long period of time. no one offered to cook me any kind of venezuelan food. heck, no one would cook me anything. i had money and was excited to try new things.

i'm in love. the friendliest service by far. it's like eating with family. janet was so accommodating to my vegan request unlike other restaurants that look at you like your speaking a foreign language. i'm a very hard to please when it comes to what i eat and thefoodjanet prepared was fresh & lovely. absolutely wonderful salad with light sauces. perfectly seasoned and perfectly grilled veggies. the smoothies are amazing!!! so amazing that i had one with dinner and one for dessert. if you love clean eating this is your place. you will fall in love...just like me!!!!

home away from home. there is nothing like that feeling to go home to mom's house for a visit and after a hug she says "are you hungry? what do you feel for?" at this place you get everything but the hug! if you come there enough that might change. thefoodis delicious and the care and attention given to you makes you feel welcome. this is a must visit place for lunch, dinner, and i plan to coke back for breakfast. i love this place.
