welcome to another tablefor3 review! as always the rating is an average of all 3.
what mike said: having previously been here before the renovations i was excited to take my friends here for them to try the non-alcoholic drink match with the degustation menu. once again, the drinks were fantastic, showing a lot of thought and effort. unfortunately, that was the only outstanding thing. everything else was disappointing. staff were friendly but service was shocking! we spent an inordinate with amount of time between meals, drinks and meals came out at different times, our first course sharing came out before we even had plates, one of the waiters was clearing our plates like his life depended on it, desserts came out without sharing plates so it was like playing pass the parcel and worst of all, food was very, very average. 1.5/5
what colin said: noticeable interior update but unfortunately it could not save it from being an underwhelming experience. it seemed like they were under-staffed on the night, so the service felt rushed and impersonal. we all decided on the degustation and after the sixth and final dish, nothing left a lasting impression. the only positive i could take away from this experience was the matching non-alcoholic drinks. they were well thought out, with nice refreshing flavours without being overly sweet. a pleasant surprise considering i initially second guessed myself for not taking the alcoholic route. 2/5
what shaun said: so here's the thing : a $150 chefs menu is not exactly cheap by any standard and so that's why i'm pretty disappointed. odd things like desserts coming without sharing plates or serving spoons, forcing us to battle like an episode of the hunger games. matching drinks served 10 minutes before the actual dish. not ideal. the duck was good however. 1.5/5
