do: the degustation. it was just too hard to decide and we left it to our wonderful waiter to decide.

don't: wimp out with the a la cartemenuif it's your first time. just trust the chef and on the second time, you can have their famous dry aged angus rib eye or suckling pig to share (or maybe not share haha).

tip: parking is a nightmare. so arrive early, you can have a drink whilst you're waiting, and check the signs. nothing worse than a parking ticket when you're finished. guilty. damn permit zones.

previous attempts to dine at cutler & co. were foiled by too huge a party (the restaurant requires a party of 8 people and more to go for the degustationmenuand with various dietary requirements, we were not keen to do so). this time round, with a smaller party, we finally managed to reserve a table for four on thursday night (after forgoing friday night as it was fully booked). the occasion - celebration of mouse's special day. i had been waiting for this! being a fan of cumulus inc. - its more casual sister restaurant on flinders lane :) the restaurant is bigger than i anticipated...spacious, which is not all that common for a fine dining restaurant (or any restaurants in melbourne for that matter). it was quite quiet when myself, mouse, sister & mum walked in at 7pm, but gradually filled up. this is embarrassing...despite lugging along a slr, the photos did not turn out so well. i better start learning to use that thing properly :( anyway...the food!! very pretty lamps, and 2 type

delicious modern australian food, nice setting and flawless service. went here for my partner’s birthday dinner and the two of us had chef’s selectionmenuwith matching wines and cheese tasting board. every single dish was super tasty and wine matches complimented and elevated the flavours beautifully. the highlight dish was definitely the duck - cooked perfectly medium rare but with a crispy skin, delicious! we were taken care of by staff, who also gave us a couple of complimentary items. would love to come back here for more special dinners like this one.

i had been recommended to try cutler and co by a relative, so i decided to book a table for my husbands birthday. i was expecting amazing for and a beautiful fine dining experience.
when we arrived we were taken to our table and our coats were taken. as soon as we were seated we asked if we'd like a drink without a drinks menu. which i thought was bizaar but over looked it. my husband and i decided not to go withmenuselection as it didn't look very exciting. we ordered appetisers and the oysters were lovely, but the crab with cos was extremely salty.
entrees- broth and baked turnips were extremely disappointing. the turnips were totally overpowered by the bread sauce. bland.
for main meal we chose the smoked duck breast and john dory, both of the plates were nice but nothing exciting.
i'd have to say, my favourite part of the meal would have been their bread and beetroot purée.
the service was great and the lady serving us was attentive.
but to the young lad behind the bar it was discusting to watch you skull back beverages left in the bottles which you were using to mix drinks.
over all we think there are far nicer restaurants in melbourne to experience fine dining.

nice fine dining restaurant - a very cosy and romantic setting. service was amazing, very attentive waiters.  ordered the chef's menu;menufocussed largely on local australian produce. the suckling pig and sourdough bread was a particular highlight but i was informed that the bread was outsourced from a bakery. i cant fault the food but no real wow factor to make me return considering the price tag,

overall, beautiful and very balanced between meat, seafood and vegetables

sunday chef’s selection
🤤yellowfin tuna crudos, smoked soy dashi & toasted buckwheat
🤤new season asparagus, pistachio, egg yolk, black garlic & rye
🤤king george whiting, cucumber, brown butter & wild fennel
dry aged muscovy duck in 2 servings:
🤤pear & liquorice
😪duck pie, prune & fine herbs
🤤cheese from trolley
🤤chocolate délice

📌 the asparagus and king george whiting were lovely, however the duck pie addition did not blend intomenuwell with the other dishes. these items were a part of the chefs selection and probably cannot be replaced but still worth a try**

me and the boyfriend were craving seafood one night so we headed to cutler and co. it’s so easy to miss as it’s dark and mysterious but the dining area is beautiful and romantic. we were unable to get a table but settled for bar seating where we could order from the samemenuand i actually preferred sitting in front of the open kitchen. we ordered the grilled prawns, asparagus, prosciutto, king fish and suckling pig. everything was delicious but the portions are quite small so i recommend ordering quite a few dishes if you want to fill up.

one of my favourites for a guaranteed great dining experience. i always try the chef’s selection as themenuofferings are always unique, interesting, fresh and tantalising to the taste. the wine recommendations are always good too and the service top notch. love the atmosphere that’s both romantic, private, intimate and cosy and one could spend a long time over the dining experience without realising the passing of time.

just remember to write a review for this amazing restaurant i visited long time ago. we didn’t make a booking but the host nicely offered us a seat in the ‘bar’ area with fullmenuavailable. the dining room is so bright and beautiful. the foods were amazing. we had the kingfish and zucchini flower to start, the lamb and pork for main and spiced pineapple as dessert. everything was perfect and the waiters were all very friendly and passionate. we were even offered a second bread cuz that sourdough was just too delicious. really worth to dime there and hoping on my next visit!

honestly such a devine experience shared with friends! from walking in and passing an open kitchen, to be seated in a warehouse type setting and having our coats and bags taken away for us was already the beginning of a great night ahead of us!
six hungry girls and having no clue what to choose from on the menu, our waiter was so kind to tell us that they were happy to modify and customise themenuto be able to try everything we were thinking of and have it served in shared portions, a winner in itself!

my favourite main would definitely have to be the suckling pig. that crispy skin had the perfect crunch, and wasn’t too thick so we didn’t have the issue of chewing for very long with no layer of fat to bite through. like the meat of the pork, i was also impressed with the lamb loin because it was just cooked to melt in your mouth!
the only thing i wouldn’t go for again would be the layered potato cake. was interesting to try but i think we just expected too much and our taste buds just yelled out average.

for dessert i would recommend everything! our favourite as a group would definitely have to be the passion fruit sorbet, we were literally scraping the bottom of the cups just hoping for more because how could something be so- perfect?! it was almost as if we were having a slices icypole in a bowl after tasting the vanilla bean ice cream on the bottom layer! second to this would have to be the chocolate delicè and i think this was just beautiful finisher to a lovely dinner.

the service, food, and ambience all hit high notes and all i can say is that i can’t get it off my mind!

went here date for a date. the place is really romantic, perfect for a date. great customer service too, top notch service all round.

food is superb. i rarely love fine dining ish food (only fewmenuthat i absolutely love) but...
1. the special butter on the bread was magical
2. the mushroom pithivier! the special sauce on the side made the dish and this is defo my second fav for the night aaaand...
3. first fav: chocolate cake. i score it 12/10. rich dark chocolate flavor 👍 make cake places i went the next day tastes meh (even tho it's rated high on zomato)

they gave out complementary small little dishes after every course (i think, or before) which is a lovely addition for the night. the chocolate truffle was so good!!!

it had been almost 8 years since we were last at cutler & co, so with fond memories of the beautiful food and wine, mil and i decided it was the perfect time to revisit in celebration of our 10th wedding anniversary.

we headed in slightly early so we could grab a drink at the bar.  it is a unique and beautiful space, where you are treated to a view into the open kitchen.  this only heightened our excitement, seeing so many great dishes making their way out into the dining room.  the dining room itself is dark and atmospheric, but really comfortable too.  wide booths that allow for a great view of the space while remaining private spaces, make it the perfect space for a special night out.

given there really are no poor choices, mil and i went with the chef's selection tastingmenuwith matching wines.  10 odd dishes later, we were well and truly satisfied.  we started with char grilled baby corn, oysters and bonito sashimi.  the wood grilled marron was sweet and smokey, and went perfectly with the heritage tomato salad.  the two main were maple glazed duck and suckling pig.  both perfectly cooked and crispy skinned.

we had spied the cheese trolley while we were in the bar, and i'm so glad we decided to add in the cheese supplement.  four cheeses plus house made crackers and delicious accompaniments were well worth it.  dessert consisted of a small passion fruit sorbet pallet cleanser, followed by a chocolate delice to share and a blueberry vacherin each.  any finally a little chocolate truffle and fruit jelly to finish off the night!

there were so many beautiful wines which accompanied our meal.  each perfectly balanced with the flavours of the dish.  generous pours and some really interesting varieties.

overall an evening that lived up to our memories and expectations.  definitely worth adding to your "special occasion" list, but life is too short to wait so just go here asap!

seductive ambiance serving elegant farm to table dishes with sophisticated drinks. staff were a little quirky and sometimes slow but we weren’t in a hurry and this added to the unique vibe. pro tip if you are hanging for the 1.1kg steak it takes an hour to cook so we were glad we ordered straight up before we dived into themenuto order starters etc. for a small group, don’t be shy to ask for the cosy booths when you book - perfect for catching up and sharing all the delicious-ness. probably would skip dessert next time for a night cap at one of the many cocktail bars in the area (my fav black pearl).
