cuppaflower in waterloo doubles as a florist and cafe for when you’ve fought all night with your girlfriend and you need to buy her flowers for forgiveness as well as a strong cup of coffee to get through the day. they offer an array of staple brunch dishes, asian influenced fusion breakfast offerings as well as some of the bestcakesi’ve ever had the pleasure of sampling.

not alot of positives coming from this cafe on a weekday. the mains here isnt that great but i reckon people come here due to the myriad of flowers and totorocakesthat has flooded social media. i dont know whether the location has to do with its customers ethnicity but it was hella crowded (i cant imagine how long the wait will be for a table on a weekend). the service wasnt that great either.

ordered the cuppa flower benedict for $18.50 and the black sesame chiffon cake for $5. the benedict had good egg ooze but the down fall is the rosti. it was soggy and wasnt seasoned well. i really liked the chiffon though, lots of black sesame flavour.

come again? maybe just do take away for their cakes, dont bother with their menu.

a very cute and instagrammable place.
however, i think food is pretty average.
totorocakeswere spongy and soft but i expected a more intense flavour from the matcha.
sesame was good though.
however, i do love the fresh cream!
coffee and matcha were average.
my friend liked her corn fritters dish though.

came here for a saturday brunch and the place was packed. the place has a very nice decor with a small flower corner.

ordered the matcha and black sesame swiss roll and we loved it. the texture of the cake was very soft and fluffy, and the cream was really nice. thecakesalso taste very good as it was not too sweet.

i ordered the corn fritter and it was very filling. love the combination of the fritter with the avocado and tomato, which gives a fresh taste to it. the corn fritter was also very yummy because it also had peas in it which added a nice green color and taste.

overall, love the food and atmosphere. will definitely be back!

cute cafe located on the corner decorated in flowers. they had tables shaped like tree trunks as well which i thought was pretty unique!

in terms of the food, we ordered their famous totoro chiffoncakesand they were so light and fluffy! the ricotta hotcakes though were kinda average unfortunately. they had the same texture as mcdonald’s hotcakes and just decorated it in fruits and ricotta cheese to make it look fancy.

the linguine was delicious though, it was super creamy and loved the truffle oil in it.

i had high expectations of this place due to the good ratings but i can tell the service and food quality has dropped. waitress failed to greet us and was on robot mode just trying to get people in and out and it feels like a fast food place rather than a cafe . açai bowl was nice, good amount for value and isn’t overly sweet, black squid pasta was average but better than the crab omelette fried rice . there was hardly any crab meat in there and the fried rice has a weird aftertaste , and rice was over cooked and i wouldn’t say it’s worth it for what it is. the cake looks good though might swing by for strictly takeaway for thecakes:)

cafe famous for its totorocakes- unfortunately the round chiffon ones are sold out quite quickly. the sesame totoro swiss roll has a more subtle flavour (often mistaken as flavourless in previous reviews), very instagrammy but probably not worth the trek. soft shell crab crossaint was done well but very heavy on the stomach, sauce complimented the dish well.

what a beautiful venue! the menu includes dishes that not only sound amazing when you read them - but taste and look amazing. i went for the ricotta hot cakes. to say they were good is an understatement- they were beautiful both in taste and appearance - it is true - we do eat with our eyes first. they also have a selection of handmadecakesin the cabinet featuring teddies and frogs, and ducks filled with chocolate mousse 😍 the venue is in a lovely, quiet part of sydney, away from the hustle and bustle.

everything was very beautiful to look at! croissant was the highlight, filling and tasty. ordered the black latte, had a rich taste to it. would come back for this again.

boyfriend had the brioche bread with poached egg. definitely up to standard in terms of brunch food but nothing spectacular. his green tea frappe was decent, but it lacked the same richness in flavour as the black latte.

overall, very cute place to eat.cakeslooked amazing too and i’ll be back to try those.

one of the cutest brunch places i’ve been to, everything here is tasty, i’ve tried almost every dish on their menu and even the basic brunch dishes are nice !! i love how quickly the food comes out despite their busy hours and how cheap the food actually is compared to other places. defs would come more often if only i lived in the area.

their hotcake was really soft and not too sweet, it’s a cute concept how they have a honeycomb brush for you to pour the honey over the hotcake, but i’d advise you guys to don’t waste your time and pour it manually by the cup they provide. the fruits compliment the sweetness of the hotcake so their ratio is perfect for breakfast and doesn’t get sickening at all!! i was still able to finish the hotcake after finishing my main meal!!! their flower teas are so refreshing and tasty, it’s naturally sweet in flavour so you don’t need additional honey or sugar !

i love the crispness of the salmon skin and how flaky and tender the salmon fillet has been cooked i would come back here over and over again this place is a must try !!! everything is so flavourful and different to typical brunch places !!!
(oh but it’s a 4 star for me cos their chiffoncakeswas pretty overrated and basic other than that, 5 star for me !!)

ive always wanted to try this cafe with its nature and floral interior. i thought this was one of those cafes where the presentation is beautiful but the food would be mediocre. i was pleasantly suprised. we ordered the soft shell crab and the cuppa garden, rose tea and those cute little totoro cakes. the soft shell crab was my favourite. the sauce was tangy, cream and a little but spicy. the buttery crossaint and the “crispy” soft shell crab went well together. the rose tea was floral and had a hint of sweetness. thecakeshowever.... lets just say they are pretty for photos?

im definitely coming here again to try other things on the menu......but im definitely getting the soft shell crab again. if only my belly could fit a lot!

one of my friends suggested we go here after seeing the cute totorocakesonline and so glad that i came here! (if i could give a 4.5 rating i would). i ordered the tempura soft shell crab croissant and it was absolutely delicious - the crab was crisp and the sriracha mayo paired well with it. that being said it did get quite heavy and i couldn’t finish it but i loved the flavours. of course also ordered the totoro black sesame sponge and a taro crepe cake to finish off our feed and these did not disappoint! both thecakeswere moist - i found the crepe cake to have a stronger more pronounced taro flavour whereas the totoro cake was more mild in flavour but i enjoyed both. presentation of the food is on point here, service is friendly and the decor inside is so beautiful (from the tables which were like tree stumps to the flower back drop 😍). will definitely be back to try more dishes and i’d recommend coming to the waterloo one rather than the mascot one if you’re driving cause it’s easier to find parking!
