this little restaurant is a hidden gem!!! it has a wonderfully small menu with exceptional choices. thefoodand service is always exceptional. my favs are the spicy tuna nachos, the asian style pupu steak, and the hawaiian fish of the day, served n one of 4 styles!!! it is bring your own alcohol and is best to make reservations!!!

fiance and i were looking for goodfoodat reasonable prices and we found it. pricing at places in wailea was a turn off. service was very friendly and personal.foodwas delicious, with decent portions that won't leave you hungry at the end. had the fish cakes to start, and fish done classic vs. "mauiterranian". very tasty.

cuatro is a small restaurant in the kihei town center, the shopping center that includes foodland supermarket, at 1881 south kihei road, in kihei.  phone 808-879-1110. this excellent little restaurant opened in 2009, billing itsfoodas “latin asian fusion.”  the menu is not very long, but includes about 8 appetizers, 2 salads, four fish preparations, 5 other entrees (vegetarian, chicken, pork, steak, and shrimp), and just one dessert.  each item is beautifully decorated with colorful and delicious sauces.  you know thefoodis terrific here because this place was listed as the favorite new restaurant in the 2010 edition of the book top maui restaurants.  the tables are primarily indoors, with just two tables outside on the sidewalk adjacent to the parking lot.  dinner only.

thefoodand service was good, some very original dishes. though never try the desert, the caramel sauce on the ice cream ruined a good diner, along with a thousand crazy fruits that didn't work together.

the dishes are creative and taste wonderful. i do think thefoodshould come out hot. all thefoodwas luke warm. that would give it 5 stars. as is, 4 is the best i can rate this restaurant.

our meal here was just amazing! in the week we stayed in maui this was the best by far. i got the blackened ahi tuna with rice pilaf and green beans. the ahi was prepared perfectly. thefoodhere is worth the price.

one of the best restaraunts i have ever been to in my life. thefoodwas fresh and perfectly cooked yet not too expensive. our server was cheerful and knowledgable, explaining ever plate offoodhe presented. i would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

cuatro = awesome. we were in maui 1/13/11 - 1/27/11. had eaten at cuatro last march, so were anxious to try it again. went with a couple that was travelling with us. we feel thefoodis incredible. very small dining room, small staff (4 servers / 4 cooks) but they don't miss a beat. service is very good. not only good, but casual (which we liked). thefoodis like no other you will find in maui.
the fusion of flavors is very interesting and effective.
we ate there twice in 2 weeks. had the asian style pupu steak. get ready for a taste explosion in your mouth! tender steak, sliced across the grain, flavored with finely minced garlic, hot sauce, truffle oil and other 'secret' ingredients. my new challenge is to try to duplicate the flavors!
ordered a margarita (made with patron tequila! yay!!) served in an iced tea size glass - another resounding yay!
the crab cakes were excellent, the salads were made with fresh, crisp greens.
the shrimp tacos were very delicious!
price = very reasonabe! two people + appetizers + 2 drinks each + 2 entries + shared dessert...approx. $150.
we all felt this was very reasonable for the quality of food, service, and atmosphere.
guaranteed that you well like it if you try it!

a really nice experience. went to cuatro after reading reviews in trip advisor and others, and was not disappointed. the atmosphere was intimate,but the tables close enough together so that you could have a conversations with your neighbors if you wanted to, but be alone if that was your choice.

the waiter was personable and attentive, the menu choices were sufficient enough for most to make a good decision.

highly recommend for greatfoodat reasonable prices. best fried calamari per my calamari-expert son. large appetizer portions (pupu steak) and great ceasar salad. no complaints at all except if you are looking for a great view, this is not your spot .... it's all about thefoodhere.

nachos a must try dish. excellentfoodand friendly service at good price point. skip the long line down sansei and walk over here... much betterfoodquality.
