wow! this is all we could say after eating at cuatro. the spicy tuna nachos are a must! i ordered crab cakes for dinner and they were great as well. my husband ordered the classic style fish of the day and it was amazing! the sauce, the mashed potatoes, the fish was cooked perfectly ... it was all perfect together. highly recommend!!!

this little gem was such a treat, the house style ahi was an impeccable blackened cajun fish that was cooked perfectly. i enjoyed how much they cooked the fish more than mamas fish house, which was twice the price! if you have the time, go!

this little restaurant is a hidden gem!!! it has a wonderfully small menu with exceptional choices. the food and service is always exceptional. my favs are the spicy tuna nachos, the asian style pupu steak, and the hawaiian fish of the day, served n one of 4 styles!!! it is bring your own alcohol and is best to make reservations!!!

fiance and i were looking for good food at reasonable prices and we found it. pricing at places in wailea was a turn off. service was very friendly and personal. food was delicious, with decent portions that won't leave you hungry at the end. had the fish cakes to start, and fish done classic vs. "mauiterranian". very tasty.

hands down, the best meal we ate during our maui trip. amazing. the asian marinated steak and the pupu steak were cooked to perfection. we plan to return every year!

cuatro is a small restaurant in the kihei town center, the shopping center that includes foodland supermarket, at 1881 south kihei road, in kihei.  phone 808-879-1110. this excellent little restaurant opened in 2009, billing its food as “latin asian fusion.”  the menu is not very long, but includes about 8 appetizers, 2 salads, four fish preparations, 5 other entrees (vegetarian, chicken, pork, steak, and shrimp), and just one dessert.  each item is beautifully decorated with colorful and delicious sauces.  you know the food is terrific here because this place was listed as the favorite new restaurant in the 2010 edition of the book top maui restaurants.  the tables are primarily indoors, with just two tables outside on the sidewalk adjacent to the parking lot.  dinner only.

byob, $10 corkage fee. great atmosphere. small restaurant with limited seating. not too loud. good food. everyone enjoyed their dish. server spent time describing each dish and patiently answering questions.

the food and service was good, some very original dishes. though never try the desert, the caramel sauce on the ice cream ruined a good diner, along with a thousand crazy fruits that didn't work together.

the dishes are creative and taste wonderful. i do think the food should come out hot. all the food was luke warm. that would give it 5 stars. as is, 4 is the best i can rate this restaurant.

move over momma, the prawns here are better than yours!. wow. wow. wow. taste buds alive with the fusion of fresh local flavors and the best cooked fish i have had on maui in 3 years. my very picky 7 year old boy said the prawns tasted better than my homemade shrimp. i would normally be a little offended by this statement but happy to give my prawn cooking crown to a well deserving restaurant ! don't worry we will be back for 20 more ' shrimp'. thank-you for a great meal!

my only complaint is that while everything was delicious, it seemed that every dish was saturated with truffle oil, a flavor that quickly becomes overpowering. the menu is made up from the day’s fresh fish, which can be cooked in four different styles, house, mauiterranean, roasted riviera, or classic.

best meal on this trip. we've been in hawaii for almost three weeks (big island 1 wk and maui 2 wks) and this was the best meal we've had. read the reviews so we were expecting it to be good, but it exceeded our expectations. going back again before we leave!!

we settled on some appetizers, with the first being their asian style pupu steak with mushroom and truffled teriyaki sauce. holy crap it was huge! we couldn’t believe the size of this “appetizers”! it could easily be my mains! anyway, the size of it aside, the steak was beautifully cooked to medium rare, ono-gasmic mushroom and truffle teriyaki sauce complements the beef spectacularly.

our meal here was just amazing! in the week we stayed in maui this was the best by far. i got the blackened ahi tuna with rice pilaf and green beans. the ahi was prepared perfectly. the food here is worth the price.
