finally had my firstcrawdaddy'sexperience. i had been on the hunt for the perfect steak and finally found it. had the fillet and it lived up to all of my expectations. juicy and soft. perfectly done.
the rest of the table had burgers which also received double thumbs up.
great service as well.

as a steak fanatic i can saycrawdaddy'shas the best quality meat in town. service is good but frankly if your meat is of this quality then they can serve it on a paper plate and i will still be happy. be sure to order medium to rare as the best pieces are kept for the real meat lovers.

so i was craving a nice tender juicy steak for brunch, i go tocrawdaddy'sand they inform me that the kitchen only opens at 11:30. so i said i wouldn't mind waiting and the waiter was very attentive and apologetic for the weight...the service was brilliant, ambiance fantastic and the steak was exactly what i was looking for! hot juicy 500g of fillet is now sitting in my belly and i could not have been more satisfied! the side salad was however a little plain, but other than that i have no complaints. merci!

crawdaddy's currently have six other offerings (that i know of): brooklyn, menlyn, centurion, silverlakes, rustenburg and tzaneen, and is a franchise that boasts twenty (20) years experience, but this is the first branch that i have visited. 

crawdaddy's motto: "for great seafood, steaks and asian fusion foods". i am going to begin with the fact that to offer asian on the menu at a pub and steakhouse is an unusual mix but their steaks were good. their prawns come from india, their oysters from lüderitz (namibia)and there are a lot of crab dishes on the menu so i really should have asked where they come from..

notable crab specials (all made with whole crab sections and served in potjies):
curried crab
crab & prawn chowder
crab & prawn curry

notable steak toppings that caught my eye on our visit:
jalapeno: jalapenos in cheese sauce with a three (3) cheese crust and bacon bits.
magic mushroom: mushroom sauce, sautéed mushrooms and mozzarella. 
medallion: mushroom sauce, capers, roast peppers and halloumi.
transylvania: garlic butter, garlic sauce and roasted garlic cloves. 
rossini: chicken livers in a creamy wine, mushroom, onion and green pepper sauce. 

*we were served by matthew, our knowledgable and helpful waiter who gave us some of the best service that i have received anywhere ever in pretoria so a notable mention to him!*

*recommendation: in terms of well-priced food in a casual setting,crawdaddy'sfranchise is a landmark in pretoria known for its prawns, lüderitz oysters and steak.

we have visitedcrawdaddy'son many occasions. this is always the first place i suggest when we go out with friends and family for lunch or dinner and it is a great dining experience close to every time we go there. most recently we invited a bunch of friends to join us for dinner atcrawdaddy'sbrooklyn (which according to me is the best one of the group) and we made a booking early the morning to avoid the disappointment of not getting a table. when we got there we were greeted with a warm welcome as always and told them we had a booking for 8 people. the manager then told us we need to sit at a 4 seater which was also booked by someone else because a group of very sweaty men have been sitting at our table since lunch and they were still drinking. i then realized that they were only 3 guys sitting at a table for 8. i didn't understand why they weren't simply asked to swap with us. until i realized they were friends with the manager!! "not cool at all bro" i whispered in my head as we began to wait there uncomfortably. trying to squeeze in at this table for 4, standing around awkwardly in a restaurant where i shouldve been sitting, they finally gave us a table 40 minutes later. usually this doesn't happen and it was exactly what i wanted to avoid. the fact that we waited there with the hope of eventually settling down at the table we booked where everyone has their own chair, brings me to the quality of food and service that i am used to getting at crawdaddy's.we always start with oysters. not just any oysters, no sir. new orleans oysters!! this is an oyster, usually quite large, topped with sour cream, a fresh salmon roll and a mild fresh salsa. they also never forget to bring the utterly important red tabasco and black pepper. we tend to struggle not washing this down with a golden tequila and so should you. i've ordered many different variations of oysters at many different places, trust me, this is the oyster you want to put in your mouth. they have a massive menu as many places do but, the difference is that they actually accomplish success on every single dish. they don't try to be something their not and they don't put something on the menu that they cant pull off. i would suggest a combo with half chicken (in any one of their fantastic flavours) and calamari with their oh so tasty lemon butter sauce. or a beef fillet and prawn combo, or a chowder which somehow always seems to make it's way onto our table. whatever you choose, it will most likely be a wise choice. their seafood is great, the chicken, delish, as well as the red meats and every variation thereof.  i have never found myself complaining about service from their waiters and even less often had even close to a bad meal.it is a great place for almost any occasion, whether it's friends or family going out for a meal and a few drinks, or a romantic night out with your choice of gender, i guarantee you'll have a great time.ps. eat their spinach!

i have been a fan ofcrawdaddy'sfor a long time...and have been left satisfied every time. a great and extensive food menu and wine list. i don't normally eat oysters but boy oh boy i love their oysters special with all the trimmings. the staff is always friendly and efficient and the place just has a great vibe. a bit cramped though. overall a pleasurable experience.

it's always a treat for us when visitingcrawdaddy's... ! had an absolute stunning yummie night out with friends atcrawdaddy'sbrooklyn. best food, best service and best vibe. thank you very much! until next time very soon 🍾🍴

crawdaddy's on a sunday,crawdaddy'sfor a family meal.  their staff are super friendly, super attentive, and basically what you look for when you go out for dinner.  their halloumi starter is a must, and the only other reason to visit is their prawns and calamari.  be sure to make a booking if you want to sit in the smoking section.

from start to finish,crawdaddy'sprovided an amazing time out with impeccable service, food and hospitality. definitely recommend for anyone in the area or passing by. our new favourite place for sure.

crawdaddy's is a local favourite in this part of town, and with good reason too. the generous menu is packed with delicious options, and as my mom would say, you can honestly order anything on the menu because it's all delicious.

the meat options are always top notch. last night we had the 500g ribs with chips and (as predicted) it did not disappoint! we also had the seafood chowder and omg it is truly phenomenal!

we also had decadent, thick milkshakes that hit every sweet craving. i especially loved the oreo milkshake.

i highly recommendcrawdaddy'sfor a relaxed night out with consistently high quality food and service.

went tocrawdaddy'son a wednesday night, the place was packed but not cramped. the service was superb! the menu is a bit daunting but a pleasant challenge.  starters were incredible, i could have stuck to starters the whole night. amazing selection of of entrees! each of the 5 of us had something completely different and we all thought our meal was the best!

i would describe the food atcrawdaddy'sas 'chunky' - it's big, it's somewhat sloppy and it's all covered in grease, yet you still enjoy it. this is not my type of restaurant, but if you're feeling ravenous, this is the place to be.

the first thing you will notice aboutcrawdaddy's(besides the slightly eccentric decor) is the sheer variety of food to choose from; from steaks to seafood, burgers to waffles; potjies, chowders and everything in between! its quite overwhelming in the beginning, however you very quickly find your way around as it is well structured. you can't go wrong with 90% of the choices on the menu but there are one or two things that just should've never appeared on a menu (i.e. bovril bruschetta).

all in all this is a great restaurant, the service can be a bit slow at times, but the atmosphere is always vibey so that makes up for it.

one of my many visits back tocrawdaddy'sand i am always stuck with what to choose for dinner. the meals are always cooked to perfection, filled with flavour and not over-priced.

this time around i chose to have the vietnamese chicken stir fry which was a huge portion and generously included many vegetables.

always thoroughly impressed by this restuarant.
