after several hours of walking, the italian and i started becoming jealous of all the people we saw on the patios as we walked along the seawall. we went from kits all the way to olympic village and finally said enough is enough, it’stimeto drink. tap & barrel was our first thought since their have a pretty awesome patio setup on both the ground and roof top, but the line was out the door and at least a 45 minute wait. nope! we figured craft would be more of the same but decided to check it out just in case. surprisingly enough, we walked in and were immediately seated over at the bar. the patio was full but we were thirsty enough that we didn’t care.   i’ve been to craft a handful of times since they first opened up. i remember the first few months it was crazy how busy they’d get and i generally avoided it unless friends already had a table. unless you were there first thing in the morning or late at night before closingtimeyou’d be waiting at least a half hour on most nights of the week which i generally don’t like to do. overtimeit seems the excitement has calmed down a bit, but the venue is absolutely massive so that was to be expected. in what looks like it was once a warehouse, it’s now home to canada’s largest draft beer selection. they actually have a location in both calgary and edmonton now as well, with calgary being the original and vancouver being second. the high ceilings and sheer number of beer taps around the centre of the room is impressive and makes most other places look like a joke. they also have some local wines and ciders for those who can’t handle their beer *cough* the italian *cough*. service in general is pretty good, with an abundance of servers and bartenders who are very attentive and willing to offer samples of beers in order to help you find something you like. after all, this place is all about the

don't try to make a reservation. i tried to make a reservation for mothers day in what i thought was plenty of time. 5 days in advance. i tried phoning but was told to email. so i emailed and after waiting for a day for a reply they said there was atimeavailable and i was fine with thetimebut if there was a bettertimeplease let me know. a day later they said they had a bettertimeand to get back to them and they will confirm. i replied immediately to tell them to book me in and waited for a confirmation. so now it is friday and still had not heard from them so i sent another email asking for a confirmation. hours later they got back to me and was told that they are now full there is no room left and to try taking a chance and walk in. ever try getting a reservation in calgary for mothers day 2 days before. impossible. this is how they treat customers.

craft beer market is a bit overpriced, but it has a dynamic and inviting atmosphere. they have a wide and fairly priced selection of beers and their dishes are delicious for the most part. overall, craft beer market is worth the onetimevisit if you are in the neighbourhood.

first timer!. so i have/heard mixed reviews for craft, but i always have wanted to go, and last night i finally made it in (every othertimethere was a huge line, which well i will not wait in). and it was worth the wait, we sat at the bar as it was very busy, our server, erica i believe her name was, was knowledgable, friendly, and more than generous with the samples of beer. i was unsure of what i wanted and she was able to find me some of my new favourite beers. i had the fish tacos and spinach salad which was very good. it was a bit crowded and quite loud, but i guess that is what you should expect at a beer hall type establishment. i definitely will be returning, and would recommend you do the same, but go early, we went around 5:30 and there was not a table in sight!

ruined our date night :(. i have no idea what the food and drinks are like here because unfortunately the service was so bad we didn't even make it passed the waiting area!
my fiancé and i decided to come here on a saturday night. we rarely havetimeto go out for dinner and drinks so we were really looking forward to having a nice night out together- when we first arrived we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait or a 30 minute wait for a table. we decided to put our name down for a table and just sat down in the waiting area. after 40 minutes went by we started to notice people who had arrived much after we did were getting sat in tables. i went up and asked the hostess why so many people were going in a head of us and she was very unfriendly and said she had us down for a table for 4 not 2. it was her mistake and she apologized- that's fine mistakes happen but then she told us we would get the next table available and to keep waiting. we waited another 20 minutes and when i saw other people were still being sat before us i went up again and asked a different hostess if we could be sat next since they made a mistake and had us down for 4 people. the second girl was very rude and had no idea what i was talking about- and after waiting for over an hour all she did was offer to seat us at the bar. i was so upset that we just waited all thattimeand were treated poorly that at that point i didn't feel like spending any money at a place that has such bad service. she didn't even care that we were clearly upset and leaving- didn't apologize or seem to care. we ended up just going home. it was a compete waste of 2 hours and still being hungry. i worked at a restaurant for 5 years and i know how situations like that should be handled and am very disappointed with the lack of care from the hostesses. ( i don't know what the servers are like)

atmosphere: awesome decor, tons of tvs which may be distracting for a date, so many beers on tap. bottom line: i've been wanting to try craft beer market for the longesttimeand i finally did. here's the thing, it's a great place if you want to try a whole bunch of beers in one spot. but it's not really a place that i would go for beer unless i have no idea what i liked. it's great to have experienced it, the beer salted wings were amazing and the prices were not bad.

this is definitely one of those hangout places that everyone goes to but despite the size of this place, i always have to wait for a longtimeto get a table.. i do love the selection of beer that they have but the food is mediocre and the service sucks :(

i've gone here twice. the firsttimei had some wine and shared their nachos and poutine with some friends. the poutine was terrible as it was far too salty. the nachos were uninspired. the second visit, i stuck to wine. i would only recommend it for drinks if you are in the area.

i have been here for breakfast a few times and their chicken and waffles are great! not a huge fan of their benedict with the biscuit as i find it too dense and dry. their dinner menu is good as well, the nachos are a great sharing dish. i just find the menu a bit pricey. i understand they're a craft beer market, but it doesn't really make me want to try any of your beers if you're asking $9+ for a pint. staff can be a bit air headed too at times (not all thetimethough)

i came back a secondtimeto try more of the menu recently.
my partner and i had the tuna poke to start, then the ravioli, the pork, and finished off with the dessert in a jar.
we got beer pairings for each of the items on the menu.
the staff are very knowledgeable on their beer selection and will help you find your perfect beer.
i am a bit of a texture person, and so far i'm very content with the items i tried tonight, but the ravioli is a definite winner in that category, a must try if you don't mind a bit of heat.

had a greattimehere, good food, fast service, well trained staff, this restaurant is also a supporter of locally sourced food so that's a huge bonus!
be sure to come early or get a reservation, because this place gets busy fast.

i really enjoyed mytimeat this establishment. the atmosphere is a great blend of bar and restaurant. if you can't decide whether or not to go out this is a good option :) the energy is high and people are friendly but it's not overly loud. i'll have to order food before i can comment on the quality!

my family and i visited the restaurant on sunday. the location and the interior are magnificent but we found our server to be unhelpful. we asked for her suggestion since it was our firsttimethere and she suggested we just look at the menu, she seemed to be slightly angry. i ordered the noodle bowl and had good expectations of it, since noodle bowls are always a safe tasty option to go with. i ordered it with a skewer of shrimp and my sister ordered the same thing with chicken. i could probably say it was the worst food we've ever had at a restaurant. first of all it  was not a noodle bowl it was a soup, the bowl was about 3/4 broth and 1/4 noodle and it had thin slices of vegetable floating on top. it was very greasy and bland. the taste of the broth and shrimp did not go together at all. my sister and i felt sort of sick after the meal and as soon as we paid, we left and went to the terra bread across the street to get some proper food. the restaurant itself is beautiful but the service was not great and the dish we had was really bad.

craft beer market is a premium casual bar food restaurant located in the historic salt building in olympic village.  we went there for dinner with a group of 8 to celebrate hubby's birthday.  it was my firsttimevisit and i was very excited the endless selection of draft beer and varieties items on the menu.  we were seated at the lovely raised mezzanine; spacious and private area to enjoy our beers and dishes while enjoying the comfortable and inviting atmosphere on the main floor.  found that their dishes are not only traditional bar food; actually they are quite creative with lots of fusion ideas.
