best ribs, ever!

this is a no frills bbq place that we found online. my husband and i ordered theribsplate and the cornish hen plate, each of which came with a couple of sides. the cornish hen was good, the sides were unremarkable but theribswere outstanding - probably the bestribswe've had on our us trip, and maybe the bestribsin the world!

bbq sandwich and theribswere amazing! super busy around lunch unless you get there a little before 12pm. definitely worth the wait though!

lunch with the wife and kid here today. went to the new place across the street as they still haven't finished the repairs to the original location across the street.

from start to finish the experience was good. the place is very basic inside but expect they aren't doing a lot as they are moving back to the other location at some point.
i had theribsand those were very good. the sauce was different that what i'm accustomed to as it was a bit looser and also had a bit of spice. not too much but some. i liked it and ate every piece as close to the bone as possible. sides of slaw with baked beans. the slaw was a mixture of cream and vinegar. looked like a mayo based but had some vinegar in it that was very noticeable. beans didn't send me into orbit but did have good flavor. the sauce for theribswas probably also the base for the beans.

i did not see a pulled pork option or brisket. the sandwich that the wife got was good. as it was sliced that changes the texture of course and just not what were accustomed to. overall this was a good sandwich though.

friendly for sure and the tea was great. located right down the street from st. judes.  lots of walk in traffic and some call ins while we were there. had a cornish hen plate that i saw as well and would like to give that a try some day as well.

the restaurant has changed locations due to a fire at the original location.  since that time, their menu has been reduced and they longer carry rib tips which is what i like most there.  also, i have tried the 4 and 6 bone rib plates on three occasions and have found theirribsto be a mix of mediocre tastes and textures that make me think they microwave their leftover ribs.  some of the meat has a jerky texture and some of the bones break when i chew meat off them.  that has never happened at the many other bbq joints where i've had ribs.  the fried bologna sandwich is excellent.  i tried the cornish game hen because of so many positive reviews and they have a bland taste to me.

i'm a pretty hardcore bbq enthusiast. so i review bbq thoroughly. although the baked beans were great, theribsweren't that tender or flavorful. they felt rushed. the sauce was unnecessarily too hot and also a tasteless distraction that didn't add to the flavor of the ribs. theribsalso didn't have much of a distinct rub used on it if any. the bbq spaghetti, again, had little flavor beyond that of noodles and paprika even though they were coated in sauce. the sauce had no identity. i've never been to a bbq joint whose sauce was so invisible even when on the items.

cooked to death but great service - better options forribsin memphis. rub is great - staff is great - cornish hen is excellent - butribsare consistently overcooked! great place to try but there is better forribsin memphis - central bbq/blues city are always spot forribsdowntown. for others willing/able to travel - payne's bbq and bbq shop has the most amazing bbq sandwiches! then there is germantown commissary - great service and all bbq products are best quality. btw - my aim is in no way to bash cozy - it's a awesome family owned business that kicks ass and i am proud to have it my community - and although they a lot of great bbq - theirribsare disappointing, tough, dry and not the fall of the bone goodness they should be.

one of memphis hidden treasures. i love theribsso flavorful. give yourself a treat. drop in. i wish they had longer ours. if i say they are good they are.

the best bbqribsi ever tasted. i went to memphis on vacation from irvine, ca. with family. we heard about the memphis bbqribs. after going online and searching for the best we decided to go to cozy corner against the wishes of my wife who had wanted to go to a fancy place and had a greatribsdinner. the reviews somewhat convinced her to go along with our choice.we were not disappointed at all. a great place for quality ribs.

have tried theribsat almost all the joints in memphis, theirs are my favorite! they are spicy, so if sweet is your thing try leonards "my 2nd favorite!

look no further..... been disapointed lately in my travels to find decent ribs. i have found my favorite in this unasuming little place downtown. service was incredible and theribswere even better!! dont screw aroundwith th fancy joints....this is the place;)

this was my first memphis bbq experience. bestribsever! they just melt off the bone! dry rub was insanely delicious and kissed with smoke. great people too, met the family. everyone was just amazingly nice

boom!. best bbq game hens! my one and only true memphis love, forever and ever. i miss you as soon as i leave your hallowed ground.

seriously: a kick ass bbq joint, where bbq is a serious family business. service is always stellar, with a smile and a story. you will never be sorry you went.

my game hen heaven. awesome all around. i love desiree and her family. they make everyone feel welcome. i can't order anything but the game hen. i am certain everything there is delicious given the happy faces all round me. the rib tips are supposed to be the best around, theribsextra smoky, yummy bologna, brisket sandwiches delish, but i walk through the door and order the hen dinner. every time. can't help it. too good.
