great food....take outservicesucks. we have supported cootie browns since they opened. we order to carry out on a weekly basis. tonight due to rude cashier that could not be bothered about our to go order that was sitting there for at least 10 minutes, we have decided it will be a while until we return. it is unfortunate as the food at cooties is very consistent and delightful. the other issue...i have traveled all of my life personally and business. i think it is very presumptuous that they ask you if you want to leave a tip on your carry out order. it's amazing how people that work for a good company can create such a bad experience.

awful! really disappointed in theservicetonight! i can't believe they disregard their customers this way! and now i have a "credit" written in a ringed notebook because they don't give refunds? as though i want to return?! very annoyed!

cootie browns is by and far my favorite restaurant in the area. i would recommend the muffaleta or the bratwurst sandwich platter. theserviceis always great

terrible customerservicefrom the manager. if you have a problem with this establishment good luck! the manager is terribly unreasonable, demanding, and rude.

great gluten free pizza!. cootie brown's offers a great gluten free pizza and gluten free beer (red bridge). theserviceis always good, very friendly and nice atmosphere.

high on hype; low on flavor; good service. i really wanted to like this place. it has a really cool look and vibe. and it was really busy.

however, it just didn't live up to my expectations.

theservicewas quite good. the food, was not good.

i had a steak. i ordered it medium rare, and it came out well done. i sent it back and it came back about medium well. the cook needs to actually learn how to cook something correctly. it was a pretty tasteless, and very tough piece of meat.

the mashed potatos were pretty tasteless. even with the butter and sour cream. it was just bad. the green beans came from a can they tasted like.

just wasn't a good meal. i won't be back.

my wife and i went to dinner at cootie brown's for the first time last night. based upon the full parking lot we expected to wait up to an hour for a table but were pleased to be seated within 10 minutes! i ordered a double cheeseburger (the waitress asked if i'd like a side of their specialty homemade potato chips) and my wife ordered 1/2 meat lover's pizza. my hamburger was served in the middle of a large plate all by itself! don't you think they could've sprung for a handful of potato chips or at least a pickle? i know times are tough, but come on! we both liked the pizza although the sauce was a little bland and the overall pizza was ok. i'm confident we will go back. theservicewas excellent - thanks brandy!

another night of great food at cootie brown's! i had the new caribbean jerk burger, it was to die for!! as always theservicewas the best in town!

colorful and inviting with a double helping of yum. i must admit, the first time we went to cootie brown's after a roller derby game in gray tn, i was worried we were going to end up with dry chicken fingers at a biker strip club.
as it turns out, cootie brown's is now the place that i look forward to eating in johnson city when i attend roller derby bouts out that way. the facility is one-of-a-kind with colorful murals, color swirled tables and a warm atmosphere that makes you just want to stick around. the staff has always been super efficient and friendly, the menu is creative and the food tasty. not to mention they have a seasonal pumpkin cheese cake that is to die for.. and did i mention that i've had some of the friendliestservicethat i've ever experienced in the state of tennessee?
bottom line, when traveling to johnson city, i make sure to include cootie brown's as part of my to-do list and i've not yet been let down. i recommend very highly.

horrible management. i really do enjoy the pizzas at cootie browns. unfortunately, the food is overshadowed by the wait staff and more importantly, the poor management. i have had several instances were my food has been incorrectly prepared and instead of the manager offering to omit it from my bill, i have received an attitude of "it's your fault" and "we prepared it the way you requested'. the customer is never right at this restaurant and sadly because of their nonchalant attitude about customerservicei will not be returning.

we tryed again, it was great!. my husband and i went back to cootie brown's today. it was a busy lunch. the wait staff was dressed for halloween.
we were seated outside which was warm on a chilly day. our server was dress in a duke jersey and we are duke fans, we took that as a sign.

i order a single beef tamale and 1/2 cootie club sandwich. my husband had the california veggie roll and a piece of key lime pie. we split a small basket of homemade chips/fries. the food was excellent.

theservicewas fast and efficient. our table was bussed quickly. we enjoyed trying to figure out what costumes were what....you had a pumpkin, the duke player, a mario, a werewolf, a ballerina, and a banana.

in light of this experience, i will have to change my vote from 'doesn't like' to 'likes'. i am glad we went back. i will not be shy about going back.

dont get it. friends and family love this place, i think it is highly over rated and theserviceis too poor to tolerate. last time a friend and i were there. i ordered tamales....when the main course came..the waiter did not remove the tamale plates or husks...just ignored them. i set them in the floor right between the tables, the hostess just stepped over them.

i only eat there when everyone else over rules me. the tables are too small not to be bussed between courses.

visiting jc & a friend suggested cootie brown's for local flavor. we're glad we gave it a try. the food & theservicewere outstanding. our server, hunter, was helpful, the taco-rito was great, & my custom-order 1/2 pizza was very satisfying. if we make it back this way, we'll check them out again.

good lunch. i got the black bean burger and my husband got the ensalada mexicali. both were very good and theservicewas
fine. we use to eat at the kingsport location all the time. the jc one is fine but ,i think the kpt one was much better.

nah. don't really get it on this place. folks tell me it's more fun when the weather is warmer and they open it up. but really, you'll be sitting overlooking a parking lot, which is overlooking roan, so how will mixing in car and truck fumes improve anything.servicewas a bit of a joke. beer was warm somehow in the dead of winter. maybe the standards are getting lowered. skip it.
