top 5 in jc!. i am inlovewith cootie browns - only draw back is that they got rid of that summery, fun music they always played ... it helped the atmosphere and put you in a good mood. the pizzas are fab, ilovethe mexican with the roasted garlic, peppers ... ahhh yum! mexicali salad is amazing too. always have great wait staff, they are on it. you have to try a key lime cookie :) love, love, love! it would be even better if they had a wine menu!!! go and try - you will not regret it. i hope they are open till the end of time, i would be so sad if they ever closed .... did i mention ... please play the tropical music you used to ... i loved it.

ilovecootie brown's. iloveto eat at cootie brown's! best servers in the area! food is fantastic, fresh, and the menu is very unique. a++!!!

colorful, brite and backed with flavors abound. this was our first visit and we highly recommend this venue. our server amanda was very attentive and the entree's were delightful. welovehow they made each dish their own. we are already planning our next visit when in town.

quirky and delicious!. cootie brown's is consistently different and delicious. the waitstaff is consistently a notch above mediocre. in this case, that is not a bad thing. they aren't there to be your friend or butter you up, they are obviously very busy. they will do what you ask of them when you are lucky enough to see them, so keep that in mind. be quick on your feet and anticipate your needs when you see them. the food is fresh and yummy. definitely not your every day fare and it does take time to prepare. desserts are especially delish!

quirky and delicious.. a fun and quirky place to go. the food is always good. great place to go with friends and kids. the desserts are phenomenal.lovethe orange cake and the key lime cookies. yum!

diverse flavors & quality food. ilovethe rustic flair of cootie's, but their food is even more fantastic. ilovethe jamaican beef pockets, the nachos, jerk chicken - the list goes on and on. cootie's has flavors that other restaurants don't and that's what iloveabout them. i'm so glad they have thrived in johnson city since opening many years ago.

i absolutelylovecootie brown's, but what ilovemost is the jerk sauce, no matter what i order, i order some jerk sauce on the side. i especiallylovethe veggie sandwich, such large grilled portions of delicious veggies! the only thing that makes it even better - jerk sauce! ;)

this is the weekly family favorite for us. the staff isn't always the friendliest - lots of young kids, but the food is always fresh and unique and dependable - especially for the price. fun atmosphere, great desserts - haven't had a bad meal here in a decade.lovethe healthier options they provide as well. best homemade ranch dressing i've ever had. awesome wood-fired pizzas.

get your tamales here!. ilovethe tamales, buy them by the dozen here. i'm just not crazy about everything else. it's a popular place in j.c., so many people like it a lot. : )

everything in this restaurant is pretty much handmade, where do you really find that?

i haven't tried anything that i don't love. salads - great, tamales- great, jamacian jerk pocket-amazing, deserts- omg, sandwiches and po boys- top of the notch.

ilovethe fun atmosphere and the friendly staff & management, they treat you like family!

we tryed again, it was great!. my husband and i went back to cootie brown's today. it was a busy lunch. the wait staff was dressed for halloween.
we were seated outside which was warm on a chilly day. our server was dress in a duke jersey and we are duke fans, we took that as a sign.

i order a single beef tamale and 1/2 cootie club sandwich. my husband had the california veggie roll and a piece of key lime pie. we split a small basket of homemade chips/fries. the food was excellent.

the service was fast and efficient. our table was bussed quickly. we enjoyed trying to figure out what costumes were what....you had a pumpkin, the duke player, a mario, a werewolf, a ballerina, and a banana.

in light of this experience, i will have to change my vote from 'doesn't like' to 'likes'. i am glad we went back. i will not be shy about going back.

dont get it. friends and familylovethis place, i think it is highly over rated and the service is too poor to tolerate. last time a friend and i were there. i ordered tamales....when the main course came..the waiter did not remove the tamale plates or husks...just ignored them. i set them in the floor right between the tables, the hostess just stepped over them.

i only eat there when everyone else over rules me. the tables are too small not to be bussed between courses.
