coffee alchemy

in short: coffee alchemy is not just another cafe. their artisanal approach to coffee will reveal itself when you take that first sip. outstanding coffee in a retro space that is a real throwback to the ’80s. i loved the light that streams through the space of an afternoon. my tip is to try a pour-over coffee, specifically an ethiopian single origin, if available. thecafeonly serves coffee and there’s no food available.

2/4 - next stop on our foodie adventure was "coffee alchemy" coffee is their clear specialty and for good reason. it's great!

would have given 5 stars but there was very little space that was utilized and on a foodie adventure you really like to sit down and savour the experience so we felt quite rushed and congested in the shop.

we went to try the cold drip. (obsessed) and it had a strong flavour which i prefer.

thecafesmelt divineeeeeeee! the smell of fresh brewed coffee. nothing like it.

the style of thecafewas almost pop up. didn't have much going for it but it worked and the feature was definitely that coffee machine.

***mandatory response to cee who left a negative review of coffee alchemy on 13 august 2014* um ... are you joking? the alchemy staff are not only the most friendly and helpfulcafestaff i have ever encountered, they are almost exclusively asian. the business is owned and run by two phillipino women! please don't go around throwing accusations of racism at people or businesses. you, sir, are ridiculous. alchemy rocks.

less than good coffee. they may arguably serve the best coffee in town, but the place is unfortunately run by racist, arrogant and very ignorant people who don't seem to appreciate newcomers that may not be aware of the lack of a food menu at the cafe.

i'm a lover of coffee and had recommended thecafeto a friend, who recently visited thecafeand was greeted by blatant mockery, sarcasm and insult when she innocently and quite unawaringly asked whether there was a food menu. the person taking the order found her question rather amusing and called out to his fellow staff at the cash register to 'make sure' that that was what he had heard. then they burst out laughing. my friend is chinese and english was not her first language.

real good coffee can only be served by people with a good heart.

shame about the staff. just popped in for a quick take away coffee, they seem to make it as hard as they can. only take cash in the take away part so went next door to thecafewhere orders have to be over $10. don't do large size and staff were rude. i guess i'm just not a serious enough coffee drinker.

these guys really know their coffee! i've had plenty of fantastic fixes here & can honestly say its my fav coffee spot in sydney right now!
the service is also great for a busycafe& the regular changing of blends mixes things up nicely.
a must for the any coffee connoisseurs....
