eating inside felt like morning. it was pretty well-lit in the evening and the restaurant was crowded and lively. they don't have a restroom so you need to go to the ones after casa reyes. lounge with p10 payment is on the same floor (ground floor) while the free one is second floor.

pork cutlet omelette curry & 15-grain rice was cooked to perfection! it was my firsttimeto have curry with an omelette and it was really fluffy and plentiful. since you can choose your level of curry spiciness, i chose mild and it was just right! my companion already found her standard level quite spicy, and our friend got quite a kick from level 4.

prices are steep in my book but i know i want to go back for that omelette-curry experience!

taste japan’s curry at its best!

when i went to japan, i fell in love with their curry and the firsttimei had one was just at the subway in tokyo where you use vending machines to order and when you enter the restaurant, your order will be right there waiting for you. since i had that, all i wanted to eat the rest of my visit was curry but i had to stop myself so when i got home, i craved japanese curry so bad then i heard about coco and went here immediately to try them out.

to my greatest luck, their curry indeed tasted like the one i had in tokyo. it was pricier but it was worth it. i tried both the pork and the chicken katsu but i prefer the chicken one. i could never finish one serving even if it’s just the regular sized one but i always try my best because it’s too good to waste.

luckily, they also use japanese rice which makes the whole experience take me back to when i had my first bite. after eating here, i tried a lot of japanese curry in other restaurants here in manila but none of them (so far) had ever tasted so close to the real one as this restaurant did. consider me a regular customer from now on, coco ichibanya.

their salad is also very tasty. i didn’t even mind waiting a little bit while munching on the salad and the starters.

let's curry our life with curry!

i ordered the naan curry and standard size of vegetable curry. i felt like i only ate carbs and starch, since the vegetable curry had a lot of potatoes. the naan curry was a bit bare with plain curry, fries and naan bread. the fries were thick and crispy, the bread was soft, with some parts a bit stiff. the curry tasted good with everything and their pickled red ginger or benishoga took the dishes to another level.

i liked that you can choose the level of spice, the amount of rice (yay for less food waste), and the toppings. i tried natto for the firsttimeand it was actually not bad, though my sisters didnt like it. slimey and fragrant, at least for me. i only tried level one spice and realized that i'm not a spicy person. nose was getting watery from it.

i love the interior with spice books and spices displayed around. i like their selection of vegetable dishes too. order was not that fast, but everything was good.

firsttimeat a coco curry house but i’ve heard that it’s good since it’s a favorite of some friends and relatives and now i know why! it really is good, satisfying/ filling and reasonably priced.

the pork is tender and juicy inside with a crunchy fried coating. the rice is not dry. the curry is delicious and you can adjust (i.e. make it spicier) the spiciness level even more by adding the hot spicy powder. you can also choose how much rice you want (less or more). the extra topping of sausages that we ordered were good too, small but good.

this branch has ample seating and very well airconditioned. it was so hot outside so when we entered, the cool atmosphere was a great welcome to customers. the server also gave us iced water immediately upon arrival which we appreciated.

4.5 to be exact. this is my firsttimeti try coco ichibanya. to the people who know me, i love curry. i'm going to treat my friend for a lunch out. my problem was i don't eat rice and i don't like salad that much. she ordered a whole meal, porkcutlet omelet cury and i had to order extra porkcutlet for myself. the curry itself is flavorful, the porkcutlet is crispy also. all in all worth the money and definitely be back to try other dish, but need to be with someone who eat rice. haha

the staffs wasn't that accommodating, they were too slow to respond.

i can’t count the number of times i’ve spotted coco ichibanya and told myself “yes, i’ll visit there soon”, or dad telling me he’ll take me out to eat here but us never actually getting around to do it. so finally, after years of putting it off, a dinner with friends ended up with the three of us at my friend’s favorite go-to restaurant.

since i was a tonkatsu fan but not familiar with curry meals, my friend decided to recommend dishes i could try out. he recommended i try my favorite pork tonkatsu, and then ask for additional cheese with the curry. it was the best decision ever!

i chose the regular/standard curry version as i’m not fond of spicy food, but the spices from the curry still gave the meal a kick. 😂 regular water refills is a necessity in such a situation. the cheese, as i mentioned earlier, was the best addition to the curry. the cheese added extra flavors and gave the curry sauce an extra soft gooey flavor when mixing it with the crisp tonkatsu.

the prices at coco ichibanya are affordable and reasonable considering the ingredients used in the dishes. servings are large so expect to satisfy your appetite when eating here.

service here was also okay. we arrived an hour before closingtimeso there weren’t a lot of people left inside the establishment. the food was promptly served. my only extra thought for the visit was that coco ichibanya should consider leaving pitchers or jugs of water at each table, or upon request by guests. i had to call servers’ attention eachtimei downed my glass to stave off the curry’s spices. getting the staff’s attention is not always easy.

overall, i really enjoyed the trip to coco ichibanya and would really like to go back for another (food)trip.

this took so long to happen but today i’ve finally tried coco ichibanya! all my expectations were met with the quality of the food. this probably sounds biased but i love curry so much and japanese style is definitely one of my faves. the roux taste amazing. i had 200g of rice and additional vegetables for toppings and man was i full. it was a chill sunday afternoon and i was kinda surprised few people are eating. the staffs were nice, servingtimewas quick, and the vibe of the place is cozy. definitely trying other combos and going to try in a different branch. coco ichibanya really is ichiban (#1).

food
tried eating here for the 2ndtime(ordered shrimp gratin before) and it's still just as good! the burger with cheese tastes so-so, but the other one is much better. i normally don't like anything "curry", but this one changed my perspective (that's how good it is). servingtimetakes some "time" but it's all worth it!

ambiance
good. your eyes have thetimeto travel and learn some interesting facts about spices that are used to make curry. nice way to killtimein waiting for my order.

service
good, it also takes a while because the house was full. they also offer a promo (iced tea and tomato soup)

i am a huge fan of japanese curry! and so, i looove coco ichibanya very much❤️ haha ate here several times already or should i say all of thetimewhenever i visit greenhills. the meals i've tried, hamburger cheese curry, pork cutlet omelet curry, fried chicken omelet curry and sausage salad. you can also customize the amount of rice, and the curry sauce's level of spicyness. you can also add items of your choice like soup, salad, ice cream and drink. i always choose ice cream and soup. they have fast service in this branch and the staffs are accomodating as well. recently, i discovered that they opened a new branch at robinson's manila which is near my work place. can't wait to try again their curry meals!👍🏻

have always loved japanese curry and was really looking forward to going here since it has opened. i was a little disappointed with the staff since they did not know what curry dishes they would recommend.

i got pork tonkatsu and sausage with no vegatables and it was just a sad curry for me. maybe nexttimei can do better with the matching of sides and hopefully the staff help me next time.

but the place is clean, nice and warm.

heard about this place for a while now but it was my firsttimeto eat here yesterday. tried the pork cutlet omelet and it didn't disappoint! the portion is generous and the curry is perfect - not too overpowering and not too strong. for those who like their curry more on the spicy side, they also have levels of spiciness. the tuna salad is also a steal at 100 pesos. would try the other dishes next time.
