i loved thecurryin this place so much, i felt that i really needed to make a review. really wanted to visit this place since and i do not have any regrets. ordered the pork cutlet omelettecurryrice with tomato soup and it did not disappoint. i can't tolerate spicy food so i ordered it as "mild". you would literally finish the whole meal. from the sauce, to the way the eggs were cooked, to the rice down to the milk tea we ordered (great pair when eating curry, must try), everything was just spot-on for me. i will definitely try the gratin when i come back and order it with their salad (try it with their citrus vinaigrette) please do visit the place! i really, really recommend it!!

went to coco ichibanya with my daughter for lunch. it's very bright, immaculately clean, and inviting. upon being seated we were served 2 sets of utensils.

my daughter ordered the chicken cutletcurry(p340). she was all praises for it. she said the chicken was very tender and juicy. in othercurryplaces, i find the pickles lacking. at coco ichibanya, there’s a small jar of pickles on each table so you can put as much as you want.

i had the cheese hamburgercurry(p360). then i opted for add-on drink and mini salad (+p80). oh my goodness, when i split my burger patty in half gooey mozzarella cheese oozed out! the combination is perfect… the gooey mild-tasting mozzarella cheese went so well with the strongcurryflavor and the sweet yet sour pickles.

the  mini salad add-on is basically mixed greens with cucumbers and cherry tomatoes drizzled with creamy japanese sesame dressing. my other add-on was a drink, i opted for their iced calamansi tea. this costs p100 when ordered ala carte.

for dessert i ordered coffee jelly (p120). the coffee they used is just right — not too bitter but robust and smooth. the vanilla ice cream complemented it perfectly. it was very refreshing, a nice and light treat that’s perfect for summer.

my daughter and i enjoyed lunch at coco ichibanya greenhills. everything was great — the place, the food, and the service. we’ll probably be back. 😀

eating inside felt like morning. it was pretty well-lit in the evening and the restaurant was crowded and lively. they don't have a restroom so you need to go to the ones after casa reyes. lounge with p10 payment is on the same floor (ground floor) while the free one is second floor.

pork cutlet omelettecurry& 15-grain rice was cooked to perfection! it was my first time to havecurrywith an omelette and it was really fluffy and plentiful. since you can choose your level ofcurryspiciness, i chose mild and it was just right! my companion already found her standard level quite spicy, and our friend got quite a kick from level 4.

prices are steep in my book but i know i want to go back for that omelette-curry experience!

finally, got to try coco ichi. it tastes way different and better from the vermont and goldencurrycurry roux boxes i'm used to. hahaha. the flavors were intense and spicy, but, you can adjust the spiciness level. the toppings were so good as well, we had pork tonkatsu with omurice and hamburg steak with oozing cheese inside. also, i suggest that you order a set meal with soup and dessert. we had refreshing scoops of ice cream to perfectly end our meal. highly recommended! 👍🏽

we were in greenhills for valentines and struggled to look for a place to eat. i never had japanesecurrybefore and was hesitating in eating here but the resto was also one of the few that weren’t packed with people. surprised by how affordable it was. great portions and we’ll for sure be making this our go-to spot whenever we’re in greenhills! so yummyyyy! would like to try out some othercurryspots as well because my first experience withcurrywas with this resto and it definitely opened my eyes and taste buds for more japanese cuisine!

this is the ideal branch if you want to get a quick fix for your japanesecurrycravings. literally this is located inside the car park building and you can be in the restaurant seat from your car seat in a minute or less. we ordered fried chicken curry, eggplant and spinachcurryrice gratin and their famous pork cutlet omelet curry. among the three i liked most the fried chicken curry. the chicken pieces were crunchy outside but juicy and salty inside. it reminded me of karaage but this one is smothered incurrysauce. the pork cutlet selling point is the omelet rice. it was creamy and thick a perfect contrast against the crunchy lightly breaded pork meat. the gratin was not a disappointment also. the melted cheese on top covered the entire rice serving and was very flavorful. giving this visit a nice 5 rating!

taste japan’scurryat its best!

when i went to japan, i fell in love with theircurryand the first time i had one was just at the subway in tokyo where you use vending machines to order and when you enter the restaurant, your order will be right there waiting for you. since i had that, all i wanted to eat the rest of my visit wascurrybut i had to stop myself so when i got home, i craved japanesecurryso bad then i heard about coco and went here immediately to try them out.

to my greatest luck, theircurryindeed tasted like the one i had in tokyo. it was pricier but it was worth it. i tried both the pork and the chicken katsu but i prefer the chicken one. i could never finish one serving even if it’s just the regular sized one but i always try my best because it’s too good to waste.

luckily, they also use japanese rice which makes the whole experience take me back to when i had my first bite. after eating here, i tried a lot of japanesecurryin other restaurants here in manila but none of them (so far) had ever tasted so close to the real one as this restaurant did. consider me a regular customer from now on, coco ichibanya.

their salad is also very tasty. i didn’t even mind waiting a little bit while munching on the salad and the starters.

very satisfying straight upcurryplace. possibly a comfort food for us, we love how uncomplicated the menu is. it's either just yakiniku or pork cutlet for me and my wife. each time, we leave with full bellies and satisfied cravings.

let'scurryour life with curry!

i ordered the naancurryand standard size of vegetable curry. i felt like i only ate carbs and starch, since the vegetablecurryhad a lot of potatoes. the naancurrywas a bit bare with plain curry, fries and naan bread. the fries were thick and crispy, the bread was soft, with some parts a bit stiff. thecurrytasted good with everything and their pickled red ginger or benishoga took the dishes to another level.

i liked that you can choose the level of spice, the amount of rice (yay for less food waste), and the toppings. i tried natto for the first time and it was actually not bad, though my sisters didnt like it. slimey and fragrant, at least for me. i only tried level one spice and realized that i'm not a spicy person. nose was getting watery from it.

i love the interior with spice books and spices displayed around. i like their selection of vegetable dishes too. order was not that fast, but everything was good.

ordered pork omeletcurrywith spicyness at level 1. it has just the right amount of kick to it without the spicyness overtaking the flavor giving a good balance to the overall taste. icecream and coffee jelly were good, a good end to a good meal. a relatively comparable japanesecurrymeal. staff were accomodating and alert.

overall i really enjoyed my first experience. will definitely go back!
