clusters & hops

a nice surprise.. great little place. very small, maybe 8 tables.
no reservations taken so you need to just wing it. we sat at the bar for 20 mins or so waiting for a table.
wine list is substantial, staff seem to even know what the wines are. that's a change.
food does take sometimeto arrive, but it was worth the wait. loved the cheese sampler, our main course was very good. i had the pork, wife chose the tuna.
very intimate setting, loved the ambiance. would definitely return. only negative we could think of was try not to take the table next to the kitchen. it's very hot. we had to retire back to the bar once dinner was over.

great food!. my husband and i went to clusters and hops for the firsttimethis past week, and we were highly impressed with the atmosphere and the selection and quality of the food!! the baked focaccia bread was incredible, our entrees were well worth the price, and the wine was fantastic. our server was also very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, and we really felt that they did the best job they could to provide us a great experience.

my only complaint was the wait time. we got into the restaurant before the "dinner rush" so we got a table right away, though people who came in later were told there was a 2-hour wait time. the two severs present we continually having to apologize to customers for being "understaffed" (both in the kitchen and in the house) because things were running slowly. we got our drinks and our appetizers fairly quickly, but had to wait nearly an hour for our entrees, and we didn't havetimeto try the amazing sounding desserts like we had hoped to. it could have just been a rough night, though, and it didn't really taint our experience too much.

all that to say, if you have a good 2+ hours to enjoy your full meal (drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert), i definitely suggest dining at clusters and hops!! fantastic atmosphere and experience!!!

lunch on saturday is a greattimeto stop by. you are virtually guaranteed to get a table and prompt service. at night, things get busy and the wait for food once seated can become irritating. in any case, the food is so satisfying and mouthwatering that it is well worth the wait. try the norwegian breakfast cheese on the cheese platter. yum!

best in tally. my favorite restaurant in tallahassee and i have lived here my whole life! expensive but worth every penny! the crack in a crock (fancy mac and cheese with truffle oil) is a must have. but don't get too much of it. it's easy to fill up on and you need to try other things! i always get a salad. fresh and tasty. selection of beer and wine is phenomenal. i have been for both lunch and dinner, both amazing. did have a couple of bad experiences with the service but it was because it was a busy night and they usually have a couple of servers. plan on spending sometimethere. it's fun to just hang out, relax, and really enjoy their food.

i also recommend the truffle mac and cheese, it is very very good. small place=small kitchen staff but they do a great job and it gives you plenty oftimeto sip and talk to your date!
